Hi Stephanie,
We love it here.
Brentwood is very clean...it is in the wealthiest county in the state, therefore is able to fund nice parks, roads, public schools, etc. There are NO projects or lower income housing. There are many websites that can direct/tell you about the real estate here. Also, a call to the Chamber of Commerce might help. They usually are willing to mail info packets.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for your reply. We have been looking into Brentwood/Cool Springs and recently Franklin. I believe my husbands new office will be in Cool Springs so either one of these towns would work. Can you tell me which elementary, middle, and high school are the best in both Brentwood and Franklin? We have a 10yr old daughter and a 3yr old son.

All of Brentwood/Cool Spring county schools are good. Brentwood's newest elementary school is Sunset. Kenrose, Lipscomb...gosh, I have never heard a negative word about any.
Franklin has good schools as well.. in the southern part the best ones in my opinion are Trinity, Oak View and Winstead elementaries. Western part of Franklin is Grassland and Walnut Grove.
Of course, there are several private schools as well and a couple of Montesorri schools. My daughter will go to Brentwood Academy next year (it starts in 6th grade) but there are several K-12 as well. There also are many preschools for your 3 yr. old
Good Luck!

Thank you so much for the information. We moved to Dallas, TX last December and it was a really big change from where we lived before. We were in a small town of about 17,000 up by Amarillo, TX. I had lived there since I was born. We made a quick decision to relocate to Dallas because my husband was offered a great job. Dallas is HUGE and we didn't do a good job of seeking out the best town and schools. It's so differient here. I never really had to worry about schools because my daughter had been in a private school since she was in k-4 so it was really hard putting her in public. I just want to do all the research I can so we can make a better deicsion this time. I really like most parts of Dallas but I'm ready to get back to a smaller and friendlier town.

Hi Stephanie, Brentwood is exceptionally trendy and a great investment, having fabulous shopping at the Cool Springs Galleria and with Williamson County having a highly rated public school system.(part of Brentwood is in Davidson County) As a Real Estate Broker in Brentwood, many of my buyer-clients are requesting that area; as you move south the properties are less expensive but Spring Hill is showing huge value increases within the past couple of years. Good luck and if you need more information please contact me. Alyse Sands, RE/MAX Elite

I moved here 2 years ago from San Diego. I LOVE it.
You can get a lot of bang for your buck in the Thompson's Station/Spring Hill area. It is GROWING tremendously. Just make sure you stay on the Williamson county side of Spring Hill as the city falls into 2 counties. The Williamson county side has better schools.

Brentwood is a suburb of Nashville. It is located in Williamson County, which is known for top-rated schools and is recognized as the 11th wealthiest county in the whole U.S - the median family income in Williamson County is $90,087 and in Brentwood it's $118,450.( http://www.tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/artic... ). Brentwood is a beautiful place, too, with all the green hills and trees. Brentwood is mostly a residential area - Many people who live in Brentwood shop in Cool Springs, although there is somewhat of a "Downtown Brentwood" off of Franklin Road and also the Maryland Farms area of Brentwood. The city has started the slow process of building a real downtown with trendy stores and restaraunts that will take shape in the next 10 years. Cool Springs has recently been named the new home of Nissan North America and all business and commerical areas across Williamson County are growing by leaps and bounds. Also, I believe Money magazine listed Brentwood in their Best Places to Live list for 2005. Franklin is another great town, though. It's bigger than Brentwood and also has a beautiful historic downtown. Both Franklin and Brentwood have plenty of parks still have some beautiful horse farms and countryside. All of Williamson County has little crime.

Hi,
I just found this thread going and decided to post my own question here. We also are relocating to the Franklin/Brentwood area. I am currently looking for a mother's morning out program for my 2 year old daughter. Anyone know of any good ones besides Brentwood Baptist? I checked that one already. Also - is anyone familiar with Temple Hills area? Is it so far out from everything that it would take 15 minutes or more to get to anything?
Thanks!

Melissa, many of the local churches have Mom's Day out, depending upon your domination and location in the area.......

Hi Felicia... I was just searching the Brentwood forum and your entry caught my eye because we will be relocating from NAPLES (hello neighbor) to Brentwood this summer. My husband has been transferred to Nashville and we really fell in love with the Brentwood area when we were there doing a search for a home. I was just wondering if you and your family have made the move yet and if so, how things are going. schools, activities etc. We have a 11 year old daughter that will be going into the 7th grade so any info you have on the schools would be GREATLY appreciated. Also, any links to anyone with any relocation information would be terrific. Thanks in advance and I look forward to hearing from you and how you handled the move from Naples.

Relocating to Brentwood this summer (hubby's been transferred). We are currently searching for a home in Brentwood but haven't finalized on anything yet. Any input about the area/life in Brentwood from locals would be GREATLY APPRECIATED. We have an 11 year old daughter who will be going into the 7th grade... move will be a little tough on her so if anyone knows of any programs or any contacts that would help her with the transition...?? Thanks in advance and I look forward to our move. Feel free to email me direct @ Kaiko004@aol.com

Hi, I have my 4 year old son in a 2 day a week program at Forest Hills Baptist Church. They offer a one and two day option for up to 4 and two and a half days for older 4's and younger 5's. They do religious based teachings-prayer's before all meals, etc. They also have a music teacher. I've been very happy with there program and all there teachers. They are currently accepting applications for next fall. Sorry, I don't currently have there ph number but they have a website, just google Forest Hills Baptist Church in TN. I know there two day a week program is currently $146 a month and I expect a couple dollar increase by next fall. They are actually in a more affluent section of Southern Davidson county. I take backroads from my location in Brentwood and it takes me about 15 to 20 minutes to get there.

You really can't go wrong anywhere in Williamson County. All the public schools rank high in test scores. Brentwood is known overall for having the best. Property values have been increasing quickly and with the announcment of Nissan moving to the area the values just keep climbing. Brentwood itself is almost completely built out so there is very limited new construction. But there is a one house one acre building code for the Brentwood area. As you move further south along I-65 there is much more new development but with much smaller lot sizes. And I think Franklin just put back into place a restriction on building garages facing out. I have a good friend who lives in Spring Hill and she has been pretty happy with the schools in that area and there has been tremendous growth in that there in the last couple of years. I believe the Springhill Target opened there last spring. You definitly want to stay out of the Columbia side of Spring Hill. There school system is definitly not as good. Though I would not be suprised to see improvements with the general overflow that is happening.

I have lived in Brentwood about a year though I moved from a nice area of Nashville to this location due to needing more space for a growing family. My son will be starting elementary school here in the fall. I love the area and am close to everything. There are lots of options depending on what you are looking for in a home from historic to new. We almost purchased a home from the Jones Company. They build some very nice homes and there is a beautiful subdivion that they have been building in along with a few other very reputable builders right in the Cool Springs area. I will say that traffic right at Cool Springs can get congested but they are currently construction a new on off ramp to I-65 in the area just south of the mall. I expect it will help some. I think it will be off of Libery Pike. You may want to check out a map. I know it's going to feed out close to that subdivion I was speaking of (can't think of the name right now, someone may want to list it if they know. Anyway, sorry to babble, hope this helps with some general information. You might want to try looking up Jones Company in TN if you are interested in some new construction in the area. Ah, just thought of the subdivion name. McKay's Mill. Anyway, hope that helps.
