Residents were lucky this time.

The cops or resident should have killed both of the intruders.

The officier needs to be assigned firearms training. How could he shoot this armed thug in the head and not kill him. Now we have another crook that we will have to send a check each month, pay the health cost, and provide a home. Maybe we will get lucky, and the thug will die, soon.

Another thing! As a caring society we need to provide the assistance to those in true need. Compassion, of course. However, there is no excuse for these crimes, and I have no compassion for the criminals.

Very lucky - indeed.
Gee, how many times do law enforcement actually make it to a home before the intruder{s} have done their worst to the residents?'am glad to read of an exceptional situation, but, arm and defend yourselves - and your homes.

Not that it would matter, but, I'd be curious to know the race{s} and backgrounds of the intruders? Anybody want to place any bets?

I got $5 on some type of CAN!! After all it is Franklin Park, which means the perps was dark, the dog didn't bark, and what were those guys doing at that house anyway? What could they have been looking for? And while I realize that the town aint that big, man them cops got there fast! So, my final question is was that guy shot in the front of the head or the back? Just askin...

the man was shot three times by the police and yes he managed to unfortunately live. The police went in upon hearing a gunshot that went off while the resident was attempting to escape. When they entered the home the offender shot numerous times at them in close quarters (a franklin park 20x12 living room). great job by the two officers involved and pray for them and their families as this could have been much worse.

What the news didn't report. It was a home invasion of a drug house looking to rip them off. An ounce of cocaine and a large amount of cash was found in the house. That's what the two were looking for. The "poor woman" wasn't so innocent. What is sad is where that address where it occurred is a decent neighborhood.

Gunstruck is simply ridiculous! I bet the intruders were black or white! Another cheap attempt to scapegoat my valued supporters, The Mexicans or even Illegals! Thank God the law enforcement officers had decided to visit Dunkin Donuts after responding to the subject call and not before!

For those negative people, regarding that the officer should had killed bothof them, pray that this never happens to you. That police brutality never happens to you or any of your family members. Don't beleive everything the news or cops say. Did they say that the suspects never had a gun and that the officers beat the injured suspect after shooting him? I hope you all have a clean conscious?

Gee whiz there genius! Maybe it was the ounce of cocaine and $10,000 in cash they had in the house. Or maybe it was the statement by the guy who lived there that he owed money to the drug dealers. Or maybe it was the Ambrose street gang members from the city who went there to rip him off dressed like cops! Wake up and wipe the sleepy stuff from your eyes! Gee don't you feel kinda stupid around now!

I'm just thankful that, as a resident of Franklin Park, I know that the police are right there whenever I need them. They stepped up and saved the homeowner's life. The officers should be applauded, promoted, and praised for their heroic efforts. I think we all watch too much TV and think that this is a normal thing in life, but it's not. It's very scary to know that someone could come into my house where there are no drugs, and hold a gun to my head. This time it was too close to home! But it's relieving to know that the cops have my back! Thank you to those brave police officers, and thank you to their families for allowing them the opportunity to do some good in this world.
