Brain D. "Sonny" Thomas wrote,“Illegals everywhere today! So many [racist word for Hispanics] makes me feel like a speck. Grrr. Wheres my gun!?” This call for violence against an entire ethnic group is despicable. No matter what the context, whether "Sonny" Thomas was referencing a pop song or a hate group, his writing should be publicly rebuked by everyone in Springboro.

He has done a great disservice to our community. While many in our community are trying to attract businesses with ties to Mexico and Latin America, "Sonny" Thomas is saying that we should kill them. He is alienating an entire segment of the population that many of us want as a business and residential tax base.

Neighboring communities like Franklin and Miamisburg will have a better chance of attracting such businesses. Homebuyers and realtors will be more inclined to look to those communities thanks to his very public racism.

"Sonny" Thomas does not represent true Springboro conservatives, nor does he represent the grassroots Tea Party organizations that want smaller government. Fortunately, the Dayton Tea Party and Cincinnati Tea Party have been trying to distance themselves from he for months. Fortunately, Shannon Jones, Ted Koch, John Husted, and Linda Oda have all decided that they want nothing to do with "Sonny" Thomas. I hope the Warren County Republican Central Committee does not seat him and specifically asks for his absence as well.

Sonny Thomas’ call for violence against an entire ethnic group is despicable. He is espousing genocide, something that the worst people in history have done. Besides the pending cases against him for violating protection orders, I hope someone considers charging him with inciting violence against an ethnic group. It is a shame to have someone like him in Springboro, trying to associate himself with conservatives who want honest dialogue.

Can you explain what business you want? Are you a realtor? It sure sounds like it. Do you want to take advantage of these people too?, along with the bankers?

He did support Kelly. She gave him a lenghty interview that's posted to his website and she's a confirmed speaker at the rally he's putting together. If he's such an idiot why is she lending her name and time to his cause? Oh, that's right, to get the clarion call out.

I heard that Kelly bout like everybody else from Sonny's TEA party. Looks like Sonny will have to bow out also since there is a warrant out for his arrest. He'll probably hide out until Saturday and get hauled out by the police in handcuffs ranting about his civil liberties being violated. What a fool he is.

Should have read that before I posted...

I meant to say that I heard that Kelly bowed out like everybody else from Sonny's TEA party.

Irregardless of what Sonny Thomas said, it's time to send the
illegal aliens packing and make jobs available to more Americans.

I doubt if Springboro wants all the problems associated
with them either. Take a look at Hamilton. Arizona got it
right with their new legislation passed yesterday. Arrest
them for Criminal Trespass. Ha!

Now it has surfaced that on one of his other blogs, "Sonny" Thomas wrote (I blanked out the bad words):

"Let it be on the record, I detest and denounce any Fed, State or local gov’t interloping in my healthcare decisions whatsoever! I’m 110% against anyo of this #$%@ing ObamaCare and will not acknowledge that son of a #$%& either until he proves he’s a legally binding person who sits in that office.
There’s a reason it’s called the White House."

What a terribly racist thing to say. Disgusting in any context. People should be ashamed to be associated with "Sonny" Thomas. What a horrible human being.

although it may seem a bit harsh in some terms , I feel whatever the situation he might have been in at the time of the post might have warrented the outburst. If I recall, he was in D.C. the day the post was sent during the amnesty rally the next day there.

I'm sure we can easily paint him a certain color without knowing the circumstances in which it was produced. He's already appologized for it Let it go.

I for one resent any persons who break the law and live here with going through the proper processing. It taints my family ancestry when they came here generations ago through ellis island and played by the rules to do it.

i doubt you'll see most main stream americans support illegal immigration. most don't. but most of us all also don't support racist comments in such a public forum but someone that wants to be in the public eye. he had an explanation for the sp*cs and specs tweet. what about his myspace post about president obama and "there's a reason it's called the white house"? seems to be a pattern of racial remarks, that taints all of us that are trying to make this a better country. have you talked to him about his views on child support? the fact that if a woman is getting child support and buys a dvd player and some dvds she's not using child support correctly and needs to be reported? this guy is out there as a radical, check out his myspace if you don't believe me. he seems pretty proud of his beliefs even if they break every politically correct rule in the book.

Shame on "Sonny" Thomas for wasting the tax payers money by causing so many crimes, including violating a custody order, threatening a woman, and (while not a crime) pulling police officers from other duties to be at his now-failed rally at North Park. Shame, shame, shame for him to waste MY hard-earned money. Tea partier he is not. Patriot he is not.

I don't know, but he sure wasted a lot of tax payer money with the police searching for him and issuing statements that they were looking for him. If he would just obey the law, he wouldn't waste my money.

Sorry, but there is no context in which it is acceptable to say that you want to kill an entire ethnic group.

Yes, he's a bigot. He doesn't think Blacks should be in the White House and he wants to kill all Hispanics.

Kelly Kohls school board

Englewood, OH

#22 Apr 17, 2010
I think we can all agree Sonny Thomas is an blow hard.
That being said, my concern is the association one of my school board members had with Mr. Thomas. In December, Dr. Kelly Kohls gave this idiot a long interview, which can still be found on the Springboro Tea party website.
Once Dr. Kohls began on the school board in January, Sonny Thomas and his followers began attending our school board meetings. They were at all but the last one (because he was out on the lamb!) and have been huge Dr. Kelly Kohls supporters at these meetings. So her association is a bit closer than that of the other politicians who bailed on his rally.
Sonny Thomas has been to Kelly Kohl's home, ask other republicans running for office who have also been there. Kelly Kohls was warned how racist this dude was in January or February and shown his personal website where you could buy "white pride" clothing and many other racial quotes (which were never hidden and quite obvious so she could have found this info before her interview in December) and Kelly Kohls choose to turn her head the other way and denied there was anything offense with him. Hey, he helped get her elected so why turn away? It doesn't matter if he is a racist or a militia, heck it is all about a vote, right? Core values, my arse.
Further, you can go back and look at Sonny's past tweets and see Kelly Kohls would run meetings for him when he wasn't there. They were tight. Only when it started making the papers and getting publicity did Kohls distance herself from this kook!
Sound like good judgment to you??? What you want in your schools and running for office (uncontested so he will get it) in Warren county?
Sonny Thomas--the no tax radical who is currently costing the tax payers a fortune over in the slammer (and the police who have to be paid to patrol the rally) is clearly on his way out would be my guess. I'm no longer worried about him.
I am worried about a school board member who associates with the likes of this. I hope you are listening Kohls and I hope you learned a lesson. When you are an elected official you need to be careful who you spend your time with. You should have known that beforehand though!!
