You are truly dumb to think solar has caused any debt. It's not even on the radar . Without it the budget would still be what it is. Is that the best you can do ???

Bottom Line, Solar can't make it without Solar Welfare. If you think that a $50,000 system with a $1,200 per year return works for you , go for it.

If you feel that paying 10 homeowners almost a $1 Million so they have solar and you pay for it in monthly rate increases in your bill is a good thing, smile.

If you think there are no costs beyond the cost of the system, get educated before you buy.

There will be as many scams in Green Energy as there was in the Dot.com era. Any deal that sounds to good to be true, usually is.

Have a Sunny Day.

The oil companies get "welfare" , and have for many years. The cost of solar is insignificant in comparison to them and their "clean coal" brothers. You want to gag on the ant and swallow the elephant ??? Tell me where the monthly rate increases will come from please...could it be from the electricity they do NOT HAVE TO GENERATE ??? What are the costs beyond the system......windex ???

Two are real easy.

Hidden Costs of Solar

1) Increased Homeowners Insurance cost
2) Increased Property tax
3) Roof Leaks, Repair and Panel Removal to re-Roof when necessary.
4) Repairs and Maintenance, most Panels have 20+/- year output warranty, but 5 years material warranty.

AMY_, Most States have a solar PV, solar hot water, wind, micro-hydro, fuel cell energy program that gives the homeowner a tax incentive for installing alternative energy in their homes. IE) If you spend say 40K installing a bonus room or kitchen upgrade in your home, your property tax would be reassessed for the 40K upgrade. For alternative energy 0 increase in property taxes. The insurance on my home went up $100.00 a year,$8.34 a month to insure my solar panels. I have to get up on the roof to clean the panels once in a while. It could be once every thre or four months of once a week, depending on birds and their migratory habits. This is all available on www.dsireusa.org under each State of the union. LMAO is a renter, who makes someone else's Mortgage, property tax payments and calls it home. Calls it a pyrimid scheme, you can say the same thing for social security, so??? What's LMAO going to do about it?, stop paying taxes? How do you think that's going to pan out?

I'm sure your correct. He/she seems to be that type of person. They have nothing to call their own and begrudge everyone who tries to better themselves . He also hates paying any kind of tax or anyone benefiting from them.

No, actually in Kain-tuck-ee the dsire web site has information on tax incentives for installing alternative energy there. There is SB2 and SB240 passed to give renewable energy tax credits for installed systems. There is also SB83 passed to give homeowners incentives. All you would have to do is click on the link to the dsire web site and read and comprehend. Not YOUR strong point, but it is written in plain language, even you should understand. Now I'm LMAO at you once again. www.dsireusa.org

Blah, Blah, your results may vary, actually in my state Permits are sent to the Property Valuation Administrator in the county and that $50,000 Solar Array would cost you a extra $834 a year in State and county Property tax.

I know as you have said before, you can't help where I live, no more than I can help it where you live.

Solar Warning !!! Your Results may vary .....lol
