Does anyone have any info or links to any sites where people who were at Sara Fisher can reunite?
I had two good friends by the name of Mike & Karen Caputo who were ST Sara Fisher and were bused to St. Lukes grade school in Detroit in the mid 1960's
Any one who can help me find them can email me at jmvr27@yahoo.com
Thanks,

Wow! You are all bringing back memories of my years at Sarah Fisher Home. I was the Cottager Sister for Nazareth 2x (1962-64 & 1967-72). I had DePaul Cottage in 1964-65 and Guardian Angel 1972-73. From 1973-76, I was up the hill at Marillac Hall. As I read your comments,I am pleased to hear that I made a difference in your lives. Thank you. I have been in touch with Madeline O'Connor Graham over the years and would love to hear how you are doing. I remember Sherry and (Mickey) Michelle Conley, Rosie, Marty and Dennis Toth, etc. My email address is: m_ann_dc@yahoo.com

Hi, I was at Sarah Fisher from 1969-1973 as a Cottage Sister in Immaculata and Nazareth. Many of the names and places you all have mentioned are very familiar to me. I have stayed in touch with many sisters from that time and have also re-connected with several kids, staff and seminarians. If anyone has any specific questions, please feel free to contact me at CMNorris@doc-ecp.org.
I have many wonderful memories of my time at SFH and recall lots of stories about individual kids.

My brothers, sister and I lived in Sarah Fisher beginning in late 1969 (I think) into the early 1970's. Ther are 5 of us.(At that time I think we ranged in age from ages 3 to 10) We were lucky. We stayed together. My mom was sick and subsequently died of cancer in 1970. My oldest brother Louie (as most would probably remember him), my younger sister Emily and I all still live here locally. My other brothers Chuck (lives in Texas) and Ernie (lives in South Korea) but we are all still close and all get together occasionally- that last time being my wedding in 2004.
I have been in touch with a few of the sisters that were there and took care us back then. When Lou, Emily and I went to the reunion several years back we met them and they helped us to fill in a lot of the blanks that existed in our lives. Sister Catherine Mary Norris (we have actually gotten so close to her that we asked her to be a part of our wedding), Sister Margaret Ann McSweeney (who lives out East) and Sister Marie Judith (who still works for Sarah Fisher). Because we were so young and had a lot of trauma early in life it was nice to have these sisters help by telling us some of the stories from our years with them.
were you in immaculata cottage during those years? did you use to walk on your tippy toes all the time? if so, i remember you....

St. Vincent Sarah Fisher has certain cottages such as Nazareth and Bethalahem?sp that are being designated historical. The Church as well. The last I heard a seminary may be purchasing the property.
For those who attended Brighton in the summers, the property was transferred to Providence Hospital, but is once again up for sale.

Sullivan- I think that was me- I was pretty little. I wore "cat eye" glasses, very blonde hair- always in a pony tail or two pony tails. I have a few pictures from back then taken at Sarah Fisher.

I was adopted from the Sarah Fisher Home at 6 weeks of age.(Birthdate 6-24-58).My adoptive mother died 3 years ago and prior to her death, she told me my birth name was Kathleen Nizel (not sure of the spelling)and recommended that I try to find my birth mother since she didn't want to give me up for adoption. All I know about my birth mother is that she was in nursing school when I was born. I would like to find her, please reply if you have suggestions on how I might find her!
Thank You! Anne, Plymouth, MI
We adopted a child in 1965, when living in Farmington Hills, and were later able to find his birth parents through the agency, which is Catholic Social Services of Oakland County. They handled most of the adoptions in Oakland County, and it's probably going to be your best bet for finding them. There are also other sites where you can enter your name and birth date, and if your birth parents also enter theirs, a connection can be made. Good luck. I hope you have success, and that you find what you're looking for.

Was hoping if anyone could help me relocate my fathers records he was born in 65 and my grandparents adopted him as a baby. He is now diseased along with my grandparents but I know he wanted to find his biological parents and I'm very curious myself. I drive by the old svsfh in Farmington quite often and just wonder where all those records could be since the place is abandoned. Also have some good up to date picturespictures if anyone is interested. If anyone can help me out I would be greatly appreciated and if you could email me at: eriley2165@Yahoo.com thank you :)

I lived at SF in early 60s. I was in Laboure cottage with Sr. Zita. I remember some names that I haven't seen here: the Bazuki kids, Ann and her sister (Mary?) Walsh or Welsh-we were at DJ Healy home before SF; Irene, a gal w/last name McDonald. Donna Conley. My favorite memories included running down the waxed floors and sliding in my feety pajamas; watching movies on Saturday night in the gym; learning to ride the 12inch bicycle on the blacktop area and riding around on the green merry-go-round at Marillac cottage.

Hi, I'm Pam's older sister and lived in Marillac cottage. Our brother Jim and I played the drums and guitar in mass. I remember ice skating on the pond, playing in the woods, sledding, also the swim trips to Brighton. I only recall a Sister Eileen.
I'm very sad to hear Sara Fisher is coming to an end. Those were happy times given our family circumstances.
Barb...I remember you in Marillac! I actually remember the last name, thinking your first name was Sandy? Was your father running for some political office in Hamtramack? don't ask why I remember something like that but I do!!! Yes, we did have the best of times living @ SF.....I for one am & have been forever grateful for my time there....it is the complete opposite of what the stereotypical Orphanage experience!!!
