Part of you has to be grounded when touching a power line to be electrocuted. How'd they do that?

Must have been a slow news day for the Herald.
Taking fried pigeons to an animal hospital?
"They were so burned that their fur had to be removed. Since when do pigeons have fur? I thought they have feathers. Squirrels get fried often when they go into high voltage conductors, no new article about that. I love animals as much as the next guy but this is the price we pay sometimes living in the industrial world. In many parts of this country, pigeons are considered a blight. Flying rats that carry disease and leave their droppings on everything in their path.
Some people find them a rather tasty delicacy.
It seems the Herald News could have something more tangible to report on.

Merely touching the power line will not shock the birds. Birds sit on power lines all the time without problems. Should the birds be able to contact two of the lines at the same time, then they could get shocked. I would think that those lines are too close together, then! The previous comment by liner is essentially correct.

Pigeons are no different from rats except they fly. Would that person take a bunch of rats to the hospital if they were electrocuted? Pigeons carry numerous diseases and their droppings cause problems to whatever is hit with them including buildings and other structures. They should test those pigeons and see all the diseases that they are carrying and then that will surprise a lot of people. They should trap all the pigeons and let them loose to fly in a rural area because they don't belong on every street corner and light pole in the city or any urban area. The pigeons will like it better and so will many of us.

I had to read this story a few times before I could believe it.

If I had seen this happening I would have run to the patent office and filed.

Instead, the old lady grabs the under-cooked disease bags and takes them to a "raptor rescue" facility where they are "rehabilitated". As what? Lunch for the raptors?
