Who gives a shit if they're employee owned? Why do they need so many names?

I can see changing some of the Sav-A-Lot stores. The one in Franklin is absolutely disgusting.

Looks like the one in Franklin is gone, gone, gone. Store windows empty, sign down. I don't know exactly when this happened because I wouldn't shop there if it were the last store on earth. The word "disgusting" doesn't come close to describing it.

It has been gone, Price Less is replacing them. They are still owned by the same company.

We had a store like that in my area and it totally tanked. Maybe its because ppl around here can't count. Idk? But they said they did the pricing like that so you can see how much they pay for the products. I guess in case you don't trust them?

I wonder if they moved all that roach-infested, rotten, freezer burnt stuff from the Sav-A-Lot over to PriceLess?

I went into that Sav-A-Lot several years ago when I first moved to Franklin. I didn't know any better then. I just thought it was a regular grocery store. I spent about one minute in the store and made sure I didn't touch anything -- even the door on my way out. Just the thought of buying food there makes me itch. It's funny you mentioned the freezer. I still remember it. I'm sure they hadn't defrosted it in years and the food was probably that old too.

The place sucks, most of the mgt is stuck up, and they all talk about everyone. Unless your desperate for a job for 8 dollars an hour or want to work with mgt that acts pissed all the time then stay clear.
I'm sure they stood and talked about people with you standing right there taking it in.

I was at first against the 10% "gimmick", but I'm for sure against buying groceries from Wal-Mart where you are helping to close the other grocery stores up, plus you are sure enough sending money spent to Arkansas. We stopped in there the other day for few items, and got quite a few things for $13.00, and all the help was friendly. It doesn't hurt that my wife still has an ESOP with Houchens, so we are helpling ourselves by shopping there.

It's all a gimmick, cost + 10%, but they tell you it's not a gimmick. Kinda like a government cover-up, but the government & media tells you it's not a cover up so the stupid people fall for it.
Houchen's is high, always have been, go into these other towns where they have IGA's they are raping people. Piggly Wiggly closed them down in Franklin bout 20 years ago, then later sold out now the folks that own it are high. Thing is, Houchen's is a member of AWG, the same as Piggly Wiggly, and they both pay the same price for their inventory.

First, not all Piggly Wiggly's are owned by Houchens. Do some price checking and you'll find that Priceless are cheaper.
