There is nothing left but a shell of a building. The local thieves have stolen all the copper wiring and metal out of the building and the local hood rats(white ones at that) have tagged the building and vandalized it. Great job parents at raising such fine upcoming citizens.

I think someone should invest in it being a haunted house when the season comes. Plenty of parking and looks like a good spot to me right next to that creepy trailer park!

Actually Walmart still owns it! They still have a mortgage on the property![/QUOTE]I was thinking it was a lease. Thanks for the information if Walmart owns it they should have to clean it up. Thats what they made the people who bought the old Village Inn on the square do. The building is a hazard and an eye sore. Walmart should have plenty of money to clean it up. Or do they not have to because they are big tax payers to the city?

If it's dangerous and it's an eyesore (just like the old hospital), why doesn't the city have the power to condemn it, pay the owner what it's worth - which shouldn't be much - and tear it down? What's so hard about this in this town?

Walmart does not own that property. It is owned by and older lady that lives out of town.

I heard the Walmart corporation was going to tear the building down to save on insurance. Then walmart can sale the property without the building. The building is truly a piece of crap. Why can't the city ask for indoment domain and destroy the place. Along just about every house on West Kentucky Street. Damn parts of Franklin need to go.
