Hi, I was wondering if anyone could offer their opinion about living in Blackberry Ridge apartments. I was thinking about putting my deposit down on a unit that is being built presently and the deposit is non-refundable so I want to make sure I will like living there.
Thanks.

Don't do it! They are dishonest and will keep your money whether you move in or not. The owners have had several lawsuits settled before due to failure to comply with safety issues at other properties. It's your money but I think you're asking for problems.

They're nice places to live. Just be prepared to wait 3-4 months to move. And kiss your deposit goodbye. I ended up moving to bowling green instead and I love it!

I live in blackberry ridge and come november when my lease is up I'll be moving. The condos are ok...mediocre construction. You share a driveway and some people take up your 1/2 with their cars. Theres no street lamps even though management had been saying for months there would be. But the lights from the walmart right behind usually blare in your window at night. Management was nice at first, but since I signed a lease, I cant ever get ahold of Doug. He don't return calls and he's never at the office. Instead is this woman named Kay and she meaner than the devil. They talk up customer service but that only til you move in. If they get new management, i'd probably stay but the place ain't great enough for me to put up with this crap for a second year.

The street lights have been up for a couple months. They are beautiful posts and I think they look great.

I'm the original live here poster. They're up on the main street but that's it. Its dark where I live and they been sayin they gonna do it but I believe it when I see it (if my lease aint up by then). Average condos (new but nothin fancy), quiet n'hood, LOUSY rental management!

I'm very happy with the progress and service and will continue to recommend it to my friends.

Security deposits are not retained due to delays. I had a delay and not only did they offer the full security deposit back to me if I couldn’t wait, they also asked if there was any inconveniences financially I had to incur due to the delay. I thought they were very helpful and did their best to do the right thing! I think the community is beautiful and it’s a win-win for citizens here and local contractors !

That is such crap! I was delayed several months, couldn't ever get in touch with them, and when i decided to move elsewhere after the millionth delay, they kept my deposit! What makes you more special than me? And that other couple i talked to from out of state had SEVERAL financial inconveniences (lived in a hotel for almost 3 weeks with a new baby) and they were denied any sort payback, denied their deposit back, and denied a condo. That doesn't sound like the right thing to me! Thus the reason that family is suing. I felt lucky that I was only out $700 but now that you say that, it's discrimination! I'm glad I stayed away from there but now I want my money back even more

Some tenants (and some landlords) feel that they are bound (morally, as well as legally) to honor their agreements and leases.

I never said I was unhappy...just that the management sucks and they apparently do some people pretty bad from what I have seen here. Its not like these are luxury town homes or anything spectacular. I got a lease that I'm bound to til nov and I mentioned I prob wont stay if these jokers stay in charge. Thanks for sharing your appreciation. I ain't an ass kisser but I'd be much more appreciative if they learned some customer service. No wonder they in bed with comcast. Which is another thing, I hate comcast (service and representatives) yet we got not choice.
