I never post on this stupid site but im hoping to get some serious answers...no smart ass remarks..i need help for my family and any serious info will be greatly appreciated! I am mother of 2 and have been unemployed for over a year the father of my children has a serious pill problem that I have been trying every way I can to get him to stop! Nothing is working and have been competing againt the pills for 3 years now. I have never been an addict so I don't understand...he feels like rehab is the only option but that cost money that we obviously don't have....does anyone know of any state funding or programs that will help?

I have been through It already. But first things first does he want to STOP!! If not u are wasting ur time! I know this I promise u! But if he does want to stop u can take him to lifeskills in bowling green. There he will admit himself voluntary so they can evaluate him. If he has u standing by him u can overcome the pill problem. But just remember it will always be part of ur life with him. It is a very hard and long road but if u think he is worth it stand by him. Lots of people don't understand but drugs have no problem of who they hurt it is a disease wheather some believe it or not! Again I will say it is a DISEASE!! But it can be controlled with the right help. Good luck! Hope u can get him the help he needs!

He knows what he is doing is wrong andi think genuinely is sorry for the things he does....but still continues to do them...he says He wants to stop but how do I have trust in him?

It's very hard to have the trust. It's been 2 years since I went through this and I still have problems trusting him also. As for me he also knew he was doing wrong but it took us loosing everything! And me kicking him out! Believe me it was hard because there is a child involved. But u have to protect ur children from this. They are the ones who will suffer more than u. Also there are a few places around the Louisville area that help people that can't afford it. But unless he really wants to stop there is nothing u can do but make him see that he will loose his children if he keeps going down this road. I wish there was more I could do for u, but I can support u on this journey and it is a hard one to follow. Last of all u can't loose the faith even if u have to give him a hard ultimatum it will be worth it!

Hanging in there,
I know where you are coming from. My husband is an addict as well. He has been to rehab, used pills again, and now is "back on the wagon". I could tell you more and may be a source of support for you. I don't want to post too much on here but you can email me at beautifulbrowneyes7007@yahoo.c om and I will tell you my story or whatever you need right now.

I will help you any way I can and give you advice and support if you want to contact me.

Take care.

Have you tried to go to your doctor? They may be able to help with finding a treatment program and maybe even getting your insurance to cover part of it if you have insurance. I really hope things work out for you and your family. I will keep you all in my prayers.

You can try life skills In BG. Or the crisis unit. Also u can call Hopkinsville state. I think u have to call them everyday to get a bed. Also there are meeting called NA that is a big support and they can give u more ideas as to where to go for more treatment. The big thing is he needs support, he needs to stay away from his "friends" that are helping him use, he needs to stay away from places he uses. I can get u the number of someone that will have more info than I do if you would like.
