Well, I'm a sophomore. I've lived here for 5 years. There are ups anad downs in our school system, but if you are going to complaian just move out already. I love the small town feel we have here. There are a lot of issues with the town, but its not the towns fault. It is the peoples. So, don't blame it on Franklin. I lived in Texas before I moved here. They were really ritsy and smart. Don't get me wrong I love Texas, but Franklin has more of a centimental value. Our homecoming and our sports are part of what makes us. So are our clubs. We do so great in HOSA and FBLA! They have to do with our academics too. We are a balanced community. I don't really love the faculty and our teachers and principals, but I can live with that. Franklin is just an adventure all in itself.

I went to FSHS til my Senior year then I moved to bg and went to WCHS. Trust me they are no better. They are more about their sports and atheletes than Franklin is..and there are 10 times more cliques and things there..If your a new kid you very rarely get accepted by anyone unless you know someone there and you hang with them then their friends will talk to you. The entire year I was a WCHS all I heard about was sports and maybe made 2 friends the entire year. You never heard anything about choir or band or academics it was strictly sports where in Franklin band and choir and the clubs do get recognition. When I went to FSHS I was in choir, HOSA, FCCLA, and FCA. We were always recognized for something and none of them have anything to do with sports. I always hated Franklin til I moved to bg and I wanted to come back. There are more kids in the school there on drugs or coming to school high or drunk. The year I was there a kid started to get searched cuz the teachers heard he has drugs on him and was selling them and when they started to search him he fled school property and they caught him not far off of school property and called the cops and he had a pound of weed on him in his pocket that he had been selling..and there was a few occasions like that..and a guy also got arrested and went to juvi one day at school cuz he came to school REALLY drunk. He passed out in class and started throwing up in his sleep..they called an ambulance cuz they thought something was wrong but when the medics got there they checked his blood and he was WAY above the limit that he was suppose to be at. And that wasnt the only time it happened either..and there was ALWAYS fights..it never stopped..so be thankful for Franklin. Trust me bg schools are ALOT worse than Franklin.

Everything was great up until High School
We had great 7th and 8th grade teachers. In High school some dont give a shit whether you pass or fail and some say thats the way it should be but I think the teachers should at least try.

If you are in advance classes, your grammar sure does stink. You're not in Honors English are you? If so, you need to pay more attention. This just proves what they said on another forum about jocks being dumb.

Haley, for a young lady in 10th grade you seem to have a good head on your shoulders! I enjoyed reading your response and commend you for your positive attitude!

Hello, I am an alumni from Franklin and have a respectable image of it and the school system. The schools are like any other schools, jocks with teachers on their side etc. It happens. I do agree that the school could be pushed a lot harder though, but the teachers are limited to the laws made by the state. They are geared to CATS testing and Writing portfolios, which in 2009 became obslete. So Franklin has some catching up to do, but it isn't entirely isn't fault. I am pretty sure if the teacher got their way the grades would go up. Here is a secret most don't realize, though the school can't compete with others in academics its indivdual students sometimes come out better than most in other surrounding areas. In college I've met many students who have trouble in english class, while with Mrs. Chaney's teaching getting through the class no problem. The school is decent, nothing special and nothing new.

The community could use a change, I would live in Franklin, but I wouldn't let my children grow up there. The bad people don't get punished harshly enough to actually make a difference, therefore they are allowed to roam around more and influence others. Making it a real hostile place for kids to grow up on. But that can't be fixed so easily. I have no suggestions on fixing that other than killing everybody, but since that is looked down upon I will stop there. In any case Franklin is a normal rural town, that is in the transition into something bigger. If it wasn't ran by conseratives, I am sure Franklin would become something close to Bowling Green and things would be better.

I had my troubles in Franklin, but I don't hate it. It's like any other place. Maybe one day I'll go back and visit. Anyways enjoy your alls struggle. I got my thoughts out.

"would become something like bowling green"
By saying that I should what I meant. What any person needs is pride in the county they grew up in, but that place has to be fun and exciting, plain enjoyable. Bg has a lot of things to do which helps the image that it gives its residents, but I do know most residents hate bg, but that comes from growing up in it. In Franklin though pride would come out if it only grew to have most of what bg had, because it is seen as a small town with not much to do, but go to the library and square, where most knock ups and drug deals happen. If people had more options you would see the community image change dramatically, its logic. Just wait when Marc Dattore finishes the Roxy Theater and it is used for the common people where they can watch movies there you'll see a bit of change. When the things to do start spreading out away from the square you'll see a lot of neat things happen to the community. Not only is there more fun, but also spreads the groups of people out more, just a few bad people at the library not all of them.(just an example not saying people who go to the library are bad, i went there every day, other than my urge to manipulate people, I was a good person.) Franklin is on the road to change which makes me excited, I cant wait to come back years from now and see that bg franklin and nashville are some of the hottest spots in the area. I also cant wait to have the pride for franklin when surrpasses bowling green, which it can. So Franklin be more like bowling green but better.

@lovin_scottsvegas I gotta question if you live in scottsville and love their school system so much then why the hell you worried about our school system @sad2b question for you why you talking bout people being in the news paper when this whole topic is about the SCHOOL SYSTEM @hello nobody cares about you having to use your parents address just so your kids could go to Warren County. Now for what I have to say to everyone else, I go to FSHS and its not always about sports yea we have a good football team but trust me they don't get away with anything what-so-ever, and their are plenty of clubs to join that help you explore college fields etc. And we definatly do NOT have a clique problem everyone in this school gets along with everyone we have all been through a lot together and we all love and support our school district, we are not really a bad school at all, we just love our school and show our wildcat spirt 24/7.

Wow, that is atrocious grammar. Your English teacher would be appalled and should rightfully fail you. Go study!

What we need is an old school " Lean On Me" approach to send all the bad apples somewhere else or mentally break them if they wish to stay. Maybe this will ease the crowding.
