Absolutely disgusted to see my tax dollars wasted on deadbeat abusers. To watch people in this community on food stamps, state medicl card with pools in the backyard, going on vacations and buying new TVs. Yes, before one of the topix idiots responds, it is my business how they spend their money when they are on gov assistance. If you can afford vacations, pools or eat out 5 days a week you do not deserve assistance. You should be in jail. I pray for a change in Novemeber to get the welfare president out and hopefully get someone, anyone in that will put a 2 year limit on HIV assistance. I know one deadbeat in specific that gets on Facebook, crys and complains about having no money, no way to get to town, no way to get to see her family and yet you see her post about having cable, Internet a pool etc. She does not work, her husband seldom works but live better than most that do. Your gov assistance should be taken away if you have cable, Internet or have or do any of the others listed above. Food stamps should limited to cereal, meat, vegetables and milk. No candy, cokes etc. deadbeats are ruining our Country

i live in broderson trlr park and i totally agree with you sir every deadbeat out here including mke is on gov assistance im ashamed of myself but obama care makes it so easy one in 7 americans is on food stamps were or we have turned into a piece of crap nation no one can defend that so keep ur damn mouth shut.Its not the blacks who are the offenders its the sorry good for nothing white trash like me who are guilty who point our fingers at black people. i respect blacks because theyre better than the white trailer park trash

So you think those people who get foodstamps shouldnt be allowed to drink coke? They shouldnt be able to buy candy for their children every now and then? Or what about a cake or a pie for after dinner dessert? Honestly i think your stupid. Lets tell you how you can spend your money and see how you like it. Im not up holding people who abuse it, but there is people out there that work, but still dont make enough money and have to have assistance. Do you not realize that you can work and still get foodstamps? yea its limited, but lets not bash the people who need it and certainly not say they shouldnt drink coke or ever eat sweets. If a woman is married but has a child by someone else from previous time, even if they have good income, that woman and child still get a medical card. Who are you to bash those people? You responded to one sentence of the original post. The post was about people abusing the system, and I agree 100% with everything that was stated. Cokes, cakes and candy are luxuries, not necessities. I hate seeing someone paying for food with food stamps, and they have a nicer cell phone than me, or drive a better car than most people. That is absurd! And I am upset about my tax dollars going most anywhere honestly. There should be an increase in sales tax, and let that be the only tax.

Ppl this has been going on for years and years. Food stamps, welfare, etc. I agree with "Just Me" on this. First off you dont know how these ppl live. Just cause they step out of a nice ride, do you know for sure that is their ride??? Do you know for sure that is their cell phone??? Instead of sitting on topix bitching and crying about it, say something to the next food stamp user at the store when your shopping. I would love to see that responce. Stop being scared and speak up. Sounds like you just need something to cry about.

Thank you to the ones who understood where i was coming from. Have you ever thought about that maybe just maybe those people driving the nice cars and have the nice cell phones at once had a better job than you? maybe they lost it. Until you live someone elses life, you have no room to judge anyone considering you dont know the situation.

Lets say a single mom for instant buys her kids some candy or cake on foodstamps...you think they should go without it because of it being a luxery? really? what if thats the only way a child would have a birthday cake? or a bday party for that matter? Ok, lets see if I can respond to all the pro-welfare, hate the working middle class posters. To clear up a few points. I understand that there are those that truly need food stamps and gov insurance to get by. Be it a single mom who is raising a child or children by herself or someone who has fallen on hard times. There are very few instances that anyone should be allowed to be on assistance for over 2 years. As for those who work and still get food stamps, not an excuse. I worked 1 full time job and 2 part time jobs to make ends meet when my wife and I were first married. She worked 2 jobs as well. We were married for 3 years and financially stable before we ever had our first child. We were married 14 years before we bought our first house. My point, we worked our butts off to get ahead, we could have went on gov assistance but chose not to, we waited until we were financially stable before we had children, we could have had children before or as soon as we were married but knew we had to wait, understand things happen, thats why we have birth control. We could have let the gov get us a house but chose to work and save and buy our own. Its called accountability!!!! I know a year in advance every year when my childrens birthdays are and buy not buying 3 cokes a week I can save $156.00 a year, that can buy one hell of birthday cake and present. As for it not being any of my business how someone spends their money, BS. When they are supported by my tax dollars it is my business. Stop buying cigarettes, dip, beer, junk food or anything else that is not a food staple and you wont need assistance. Again, not saying everyone does this but spend 2 hours in Piggly Wiggly and you will see the abuse. To address the poster who says lets here me bitch about how my tax dollars are spent on other things, ok. Obamacare, this will increase the middle class tax dramatically. All to pay for more free health care for the so called poor. Billions of dollars a year that go to support illegal immagrants. Tax money going to bail big corporations out as well as bailing out foreclosed homes to people who never qualified in the first place (accountability). The single mom thing does not apply to all as well. If your a single mom with 4 kids from 4 different men, HELLO, you know what causes that right. Again, accountability!!!!! ITS NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY TO PROP UP AND SUPPORT THE LAZY, THE IRRESPONSIBLE AND THOSE WHO FEEL THAT THE SUCCESSFUL OWE THEM. I OWE THEM NOTHING. You and liberal left wings demonize the rich or well off but if it was not for them and the middle class you would not eat. Yes I am the middle class, 70K a year and I earned every penny of it. If someone is in need, I will help them, if they are hungry, I will feed them. There is a difference between needy and lazy.

the idea of foodstamps is ok but do anyone of you remember the federal commodities stores years ago? there wasnt any fraud in the system because you couldnt sell your card for money you actually picked up groceries,true they were in black and white cartons stamped with gov. on them the cheese was fabulous better than anything in the pig. I wish they would go back to that,great food and no fraud,there was sugar,candy ,bread,meats,canned ham,fruit,it was really good.

My favorite is when you see people who get funds for being disabled, when you see them out dancing at a bar, or just anywhere around town. They don't look as disabled as they act for the check. AND before anyone starts, I do understand that some disabilities are the type you can't see such as mental.

You use to could get it at the ag building out at the park. That block of cheese was delicious. Made some grilled cheese sandwiches.

but you also got the ones who claim they cant work and they get a disability check , food stamps , section 8 housing and medical card and then they go work somewhere for cash so they dont have to turn it in. how can they get a disability check and claim they cant work cause of medical issues and then work 4 or more days a week for cash? this disgusts me for the people who work overtime and second jobs to make ends meet and these people skating through on easy street. if you can work 4 or more days a week and your disability doesnt seem to stop you, how did you ever qualify for disability in the first place?

Very well said productive citizen!!! Agree 100000%!! My husband and I get out there and bust our butts everyday in order to make ends meet. Then you have some that do nothin ng all day everyday, and draw the max assistance in everything available, but yet see them post pics on Facebook of themselves on vacations or posting status' abt going here and there, and buying this and that. It really nauseates me!!
