wally world is driven by good old fashion corporate greed, they could have better pay for employees but they don't,better prices for customers but they don't,every employee will be part time because of health care laws.If you as a customer would pay more guess what?
one is being forced to work at Walmart or for that matter McDonalds, Burger King, tractor supply, etc. Most also after a short period of time make more than minimum wage. Everyone is not entitled to a 50,000 per year job. It is tough these days even with a masters degree to make 40,000 if you can get a job. Would we be better off without Walmart and these jobs? No way.]

Walmart recently was building four stores in Washington, DC. A couple of them were in poorer sections of towns which have very few places to purchase food, etc. The city council voted that these stores would have to pay $12.50 per hour minimum wage when they open vs the standard minimum. SIMPLE SOLUTION...Walmart has stated they will not open the stores.

This decision will not cost these greedy, and unlawful bastards nothing. The last thing they would want is a wage raise like that to break out. Hats off to the city councilmen at an attempt to close down slave labor.

"Unlawful Bastards?" What is that all about. I do not blame Walmart one bit for not finishing the stores. Would you open a business in Franklin if our city council told you that only your store would have to pay more than the legal wage to hire people?(I would not open a business here if our city council had anything to do with it. One council member there is the crack smoking Marion Barry. The losers here are the poorer communities where no other stores will open. They could have used the jobs and tax revenues.

Slave labor is when someone is forced to work. Every person at Walmart actually applied for the job and most work hard and many stay in the stores for years and receive raises and promotions. It is people like you who worship and vote Obama to blame for the state of this country now. You have no understanding or respect for free enterprise without government interference. What has the government ever run right?

Good point Wally. The people who bitch about Walmart's pay scale are also the same people who bitch about prices in other stores being too high. I like the PIG and I also like Walmart.

ok "U Won't like this". So the PIG is not your favorite store anymore. Later in this post you call Walmart greedy. In another post you called the new IGA crooked because of the way they priced. Guess your sorry ass is down to the T Mart for your groceries.

Dollar General Market has good prices on some things. Eggs 75 a dozen and cheap milk, but it takes so long to get through the checkout, I don't go there often.
