You want heros, those that were drafted, and served in the military WW1, WW2, Korea, Viet Nam. Those that gave their lives because the nation called them up, and they had no choice. Certainly, soldiers today can be considered heros, because, in theory, they choose to defend our nation.
What does a paramedic do normally, as a part of their job, that is considered heroic? A job choice that they made, nobody forced them.

Sadly today HIV, Herpes (oral and oterwise), is not just for gay people anymore. Straight or gay, depending on the number of sexual partners one has, you could be put at risk by anyone. If I understand correctly the number of deaths by oral cancer is on the rise due to the herpes virus. While I somewhat side stepped your question, I would prefer Cpr done by a clean virgin that has not had anything in their mouth that did not belong.

If it was an EMT, and life or death, I don't care. And nursing homes have some of the highest rates of STD's. Yuk..what a thought.
