Justice and truth are rarely the same thing. In this case the neither were served by the attorney or the system.

Naw, because he lied to her and misled her for the sake of him getting more fee's. Working is great, but do it ethically. There are exceptions to people you work with it and it's not all black and white. Even the Oath the attorney took demands it.

There are people who will move from other states to the already weakened's state just to get their hands on what they can. Sad, but true. They will go to great length's to make sure they get what they want.

I get what youre saying. It is sad. Right is right, wrong is wrong no matter what. Derek F Johnson is as wrong as they come. Nothing in the world is worth getting when you take advantage of a woman with a sick child. Like I keep telling her and like so many others that have commented, what comes around goes around. There's many people not feeling good at all about what that attorney did. His name won't be forgotten in some circles. Karma doesn't have a time limit.

My first feeling was to call his office and tell him what a jerk he is. He is probably mind sick enough to rip off a desperately ill child and mom he probably thought to himself, "Oh a cancer patient - he might die soon and what? Am I suppose to care?"
When you go get him let us know so we can get our popcorn and colas ready. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.\m/\m/

His ex wife is more than likely saying - "Derek Johnson, yea he raped me, tortured me, and mamed me. I was married to the compulsive liar."
It's no secret. Call her and find out but she doesn't live in Zionsville, Indiana.
All lawyers lie - it's in their blood.

some of these bills are very easy to get dismissed.

Others you NEVER will! Cars, motorcycles and any other tangible property are seized for default on student loans. SOcial Security funds garnished as well.

These are NOT discharge able in bankruptcy. Hospital bills ARE.

Why didn't she just take bankruptcy?

Attorneys never waive their fees. Why should they work for free? Would you tell your boss to just keep your daily wage because you were feeling generous? Not likely.

$475-$500 fees is common practice for atty fees. Their higher education was not free. And even though they may have stood in front of a judge for 10 minutes there was likely hours spent filing paperwork and skip tracing deadbeats who skirt their collection efforts. And who knows how many hours making telephone calls asking the debtor to make payments on their bills.

Attorney fees: not free
Medical care: not free

If you read the investigative report, you'll see the numbers and how Derek F Johnson has been forum court shopping to get a for sure win. That's not an ethical way of practicing law and lying is not an ethical way of practicing law. People also deserve to have a Judge that works for the People, not work for the attorneys.
Derek F Johnson, is an unethical lying attorney. It's that simple. It has nothing to do with free services, free fee's, or free health care.

that attorney is a jerk. read the article consumer man and watch channel 13 investigates. the fact he lied to that lady and has been trolling courts and overcharging is the point. another point is that this woman had proof it was missed in error.

Attorney Derek F Johnson of Jacob, Hammerle, Johnson Law Offices in Zionsville, Indiana is BUSTTTEDDD by Channel 13 Investigates. He's been overcharging, trolling the courts, and using all the unethical dirty tricks to steal your money. His net $2.3 million in last 1 1/2 years because Judge Hockman ordered defendants to pay attorneys fee even when debt had been paid off several years prior and the case should have been dismissed. CORRUPTION! EXTORtION!
SOB's need to rot in hell for targeting people for their own personal gain using corrupt practices.
