I love it when people go back and dig up their own threads so they can comment to themselves.

Conflict? Why would Sgt Peterson be worried of conflicts? They're professionals, right?
Why would there be a conflict?
It's not like anyone from the victims family are going to be aware of which officer is Bisard. Heck,at that point, the crash was still considered an "accident".
Moreover,
There wasn't a concern for conflict when sending IMPD staff to the hospital to acquire blood draws from the injured victims.
Does IMPD keep their officers from attending/testifying in court cases because of the potential for conflict in the hallway at the courthouse building?
Well, look at it this way,I guess the brilliant minds of the brass at IMPD thought Eric's petite little wife was going to raise hell with a bunch of burly IMPD officers at the hospital. The excuse for changing the venue of the blood draw is tenuous at best.Because I think most of his relatives are/were living in Florida and out of state at the time. I could be wrong. Moreover,COMMUNICATIONS was aware of the PROPER PROTOCOL with respect to the blood draw. But,according to IMPD,the officers and brass were totally unaware of the change. Uh huh. But the demoted executive's remark is interesting....perhaps a slip of the tongue that reveals their view at the time? I'm thinking the members of IMPD at the scene and IMPD brass thought these good people was a group of (in the minds of brass/and officers at the scene) unconnected biker trash. So the protection of Bisard was started immediately at the onset. And if that wasn't enough,a "series" of *cough* cough* "honest" mistakes by law enforcement advantageous to David Bisard. How convenient. Not to mention Bisard seems to be getting all of the advantages from the court system via a judge that has been disciplined for actions less than ideal for a sitting judge. IMPD brass....demoted.....after a few years those very same demoted members of IMPD brass are incredulously PROMOTED. Amazing!!

It makes one wonder what other crimes have been committed by officers and quickly covered up by IMPD brass.

If Tim Durham can buy a prosecutor....Could the Reinsurance Industry do the same? Could the Reinsurance Industry buy itself a Mayor as well? Could an industry buy itself a judge?

iS THIS THE JURY AND JUDGE HERE LOL,The thing is many motorcycle riders I know juice up before they ride, I mean they drink a few shots and some beers , The media needs to stop asking what bikers think about Brisard , Yes innocent people were killed, This newest incident with Brisard only tells me His lawyer will use this as an insanity drunk defense , He will say his client is an alcoholic , Yes someone was killed he will argue, His client is sorry and realizes what his actions caused. The trial I mean plea deal will happen, There will be no trial, He will admit sometime in the next 5 years he did drink that day of the accident, But he had blackout spells which severe alcoholics do have as the medical soceity can back that claim up. Then after he admits his guilt , He will be given time served and also his lawyer will say while his client was locked up, He took advantage of a substance abuse program while in jail and is clean and sober now, The judge will give him a 10 year probation that he must adhere to and meet with a probation officer and continue AAA MEETINGS AS PART OF THE TERMS.Like it or not, He didn't set out to kill someone with his car. Yes fellow Officers did try to cover up what he did by removing the evidence from his trunk. That to me is a real crime also.I know many drunks in all types of work. Many even are top surgeons who drink and snort.Just THINK HOW MANY HAVE DIED ON THE OPERATING TABLES BECAUSE OF THEIR SUBSTANCE ABUSE.BRISARD has put his own family through plenty of suffering, They are just as innocent as the victim killed on the motorcycle as well, That makes it just as sad. Hopefully real justice finally comes out of the whole tragic ordeal.

We know Bisard attempted to chew a handful of chewing tobacco prior to the arrival of Lawrence police during his latest drunken sojourn last Saturday...

From the report (page 15):

Peterson, and Bisard all stopped at
the Speedway Gas Station at 5103 E. Washington
Street, where Whitesell purchased gas using his IMPD Fleet Services charge card. Digital
surveillance video shows the officers arrived at 12:33 p.m. and Bisard got a fountain drink.
Officer Whitesell bought chewing tobacco.

This happened on the way to Methodist Occupational.
