As I was catching up on SG information I noticed that the modification committee chair person, Mr. Zalewski, indicated the committee had declined a resident's request to build a barn style roof on their lot. The reason given for the declination was because SG did not allow out buildings with barn style roofs.

How much more BS do we have to take from this committee, this chair, this board and this pm?

Mr. Zalewski, when you time I will be more than happen to point out at least a half dozen, maybe more, out buildings with barn style roofs. Explain that one to us!

While you are at it, explain why the former president, cindy, has an out building with a barn style roof? I'm not referring to the building she lobbied the city for to run her "wilting flower" bakery out of. I am referring to the one tucked out back in the woods on her lot.

Seems to me if other homeowners have been allowed to install and/or keep barn style roof out buildings why are you declining them now?

This is why the folks in charge are pathetic. Rules don't apply across the board. Rules are not consistent. Its a prime example of dumb and dumber. The pm makes crap up as she goes, or tells people what they want to hear at that moment whether its true or not. Its a mess and the board has no clue how to clean it up.

Another cow patty example!

I had a few typos in my previous post.

Mr. Zalewski, when you have time I will be more than happy to point out at least a half dozen, maybe more, out buildings with a barn style roof in SG.

In fact the former president, cindy, has an out building with a barn style roof. I'm not referring to the building she lobbied the city for to run her "wilting flower" bakery out of. I am referring to the one tucked way out back in the woods on her lot. Oh, also note its not made out of the same material has the main dwelling.

Seems to me if other homeowners have been allowed to install and/or keep barn style roof out buildings why are you declining this one?

This is why the folks in charge are pathetic. Rules don't apply across the board. Rules are not consistent. Its a prime example of dumb and dumber. This is the same group that approved the "prison-bar" fence. Is SG that hard up for volunteers?

True, we all know this. She can talk circles around most people and leave them scratching their heads. However, we are on to this. Ask her what she stated a week ago, to whomever and she will not be able to answer. The web keeps spinning. Who else will be drawn in?

I have an atlanta based attorney checking into why the board member can have a barn style storage building and why I CAN'T.These covenants and restrictions are a nuisance.

That’s two of us that experienced the same thing from the pm. I am willing to bet there are a lot more, they just don’t know it yet.

I guess people are content with being told anything whether it’s truthful or not. This behavior puts SG in a very dangerous position and has placed homeowners in an unfavorable financial crisis. How much longer is the board going to allow this to go on?

Who else is drawn in? The answer to that question is obviously wild bill, jim, kris, scot, gene, richard and bill. If homeowners are experiencing questionable tactics from the pm the board certainly is. Are they that clueless that they don’t see it? Or is it because they do it too?

You board members that have your doubts need to take a stand and do the right thing. Stop the negative talking outside the TH doors and actually put your actions where your mouths are. Do you know what the term is for people that say one thing and do another?

Have the guts to make the necessary moves you claim you are capable of.

Guess everyone will be holding hands and singing "Kumbaya" after the next POA/HOA meeting is adjourned.

The exact wording from the Modification Committee report (posted on www.summergrove.net ) is "We do not allow barn style or gambrel roofs." If there are "at least a half dozen, maybe more, out buildings with a barn style roof in SG", why these exist would be a great question for the Modification Committee chair at the next board meeting.

Yes, this would be a great question to ask. Let's just say this problem has been an on-going issue from PAST Board/Modification Committee's years ago. The present chair would not be able to answer for the past decisions made.

Point taken. The current chair will claim ignorance, like he does with everything, for the decisions of past committees. According to HOA documents we are on our third committee chair within the past 10 years. Cindy was the chair for 7 of those years. Yes...the former prez. Read between the lines people. However, we have had the same pm for 9 of those years. There's no excuse for claiming ignorance.

It’s possible these structures were erected without knowledge of the HOA. In these cases isn't the job and duty of the HOA to remedy the situation when they become aware of such violations? I think the answer to that question is YES! Their job is to maintain the integrity of our community by enforcing the covenants. The association has the right to force compliance. In fact, our By-Laws allow the association to remedy a violation at the homeowner’s expense.

We know that will not happen. The “prison bar” fence is a prime example. That fence should have never been allowed, nor should a compromise been reached. The thing is an eyesore. Living in a covenant community does not bode well for those that feel they must express themselves in a manner that violates the covenants. And our board and pm must be willing, able and not afraid to exercise their authority when a violation exists.

Does anyone have a backbone in the Town Hall??????

Remember Whoop...we need to have a kinder, gentle approach to our residents at SG. In other words, ANYTHING goes. Make a mess, then when a few balk at what has been allowed, try like heck to clean it up, that seems to be the new SG motto. Sad state of affairs, right?

Why not post the addresses of those half dozen here? That might prompt someone to do something about them.

Where do you have to stand to see that outbuilding on Cindy Bruce's lot? It doesn't seem to be visible from the street.

Maybe you have to be a neighbor to see it? Or, its behind the bakery. Is that how she has gotten away with it?

Dartboard, look beyond the bakery, drive down a few other streets and you can see some barn type styles that have been up for several years. Then, look at some fences while you are rolling down the roads of SG. Look at the weeds already over 8 inches high, rotten mailbooxes, mildew on houses; do I really need to continue this?

How does that work? Do the individual board members have to be served, or is the property manager served on the theory that she's the agent of the board?

What grounds are being cited for the suit?

Yes...keep going! Take a very good look at the fence at the corner of Belltree Circle and Westhill. Its the first house on the corner. The fence is all but laying on the ground. Has anyone other than me seen this? Where are the three musketeers or the pm? Is anyone tending to the property? Where is the new board liaison to the cec?

Before the bakery was installed the barn style roof shed was plenty visible.

By the way, does anyone know who approved the 10 cypress trees that have been planted on the right side as you EXIT SG at the main entrance? When they mature they will look just lovely. I'm kidding folks, they will look like crap! Is the pm aware of this? Is the modification group aware of this? Is the master gardener aware of this? I assume those residents want to shield their lot and have more privacy. Its not very attractive for the main entrance.
