If you are serious about nominating Chris Meinhart for some kind of an award then come here and come together. We can go from here. This is easy to do. Whoever is interested and serious about this get together here. We'll start a committee and make it happen. I love committees, especially ones for a really good cause.

Chris has been a productive part of this community for years and he deserves the Hometown Hero award. What he doesnt deserve is to be the butt of jokes that are submitted on here. It may be all in good fun and you may THINK he dont mind, but nobody wants singled out like that. I'm referring to a few other threads where he is called "Radio" & calling him a stud...etc...etc..
Yes he takes all this hype with a smile but don't you think it may hurt his feelings? Put yourself in his place. Before I get a hailstorm of angry replies let me say that I understand you have known Chris forever. So have I. I was in the same grade with him since kindergarten. I know him well and I've seen the cruelty of his peers. As an adult I now speak to Chris as an equal...not as a novelty to poke fun at. I'm voting for Chris as my Hometown Hero.

Chris is one that would help anyone ,and doesnt care what kinda work it is. He is dedicated to the FD, and gets up all hours of the night when the pagers go off . He will volunteer to help anyway he can. Chris has been a great citizen in this community. I know he has helped a burger time when it was open he was there every morning with out any question. He also comes in giovannis to help out . If he sees it busy he will grab a cart without asking and start cleaning tables or whatever he can do to help. Whatever it is you need, Chris will do whatever it is to help out without a doubt. He would walk 10 miles just to help . He is very dedicated to his community. He has a heart of GOLD !!!! It doesnt matter is if is the FD,basketball, basball, football, or even a fund raiser in the commuinty, etc. Chris is always there to help. We can all joke around with Chris and he can take it . He tells me all the time if people didnt joke with me I would think they were mad at me . He knows the ones that are serious or just jokin with him . There is a difference between making fun & joking with him , but he will set you in your place if he feels it was poking fun at him ..I have seen him do it. You will know it if you ever make him mad.

I agree Chris is always there helping anyone that needs it. He loves being around the kids. But you know who else deserves to be a Hometown Hero, Mrs. Sharon Sanders. I think she is a wonderful person. She is always willing to help anyone in the community. Sharon I feel you are the BEST!! Love Ya.

I agree Kat,
I know we have alot of great guys on that F.D. and God bless them all for me and my family.
But Chris i think is long overdue a recognition and your right again about joking with him, he will set you in your place if he felt insulted, but anyone with any sense knows just how far to push anything with him, and most people know to just make sure they are easy and understanding with him. Ive gave him rides home alot and he would never ask, but i was grateful to just be able to give him a lift after what he does for us. Alot of towns have their Joe" "Tom" or "Bob" but we have our Chris and his heart of Gold.

Exactly, so thats why i can call him Radio if i want to he has always laughed at me and has always been my friend, so if he cared he would have put me in my place a million times, he has a big heart and real big shoulders so i think he can take it....I would vote for him

OK. Here is the info for Home Town Hero from WSAZ. Whom ever is going to do this, do it please. All you have to do is fill in the info and write a small piece about Chris and forward it on. Piece of cake. Disregard the parts that do not pertain to our purpose.
***Do you know someone who has made a significant difference in your life or community? Tell us why he/she should be featured as a hometown hero on WSAZ. A new award recipient is picked each week. Winners are chosen based on, but not limited to, their voluntary positive impact on a person or community. NOTE: while there are many generous paid professionals who deserve recognition, WSAZ strives to honor volunteers with this award.
You can watch WSAZ's Hometown Hero segment each Friday at 5:30pm and Saturday at 6am and 6pm.
By submitting this form, WSAZ makes no guarantees the person you're nominating will receive the award. All entries must be submitted in writing, whether it's through this form or U.S. Mail. Here's our mailing address if you prefer to submit via mail:

Daily Horoscope for December 31

Capricorn

A certain person is strong-willed with the Full Moon in your emotional house of others. It's a lunar eclipse too, so this could lead to some ructions in which everyone becomes firmly entrenched in their own opinions and refuses to acknowledge anyone else's point of view. Get the arguments out of the way early on, so you can then concentrate on having a really enjoyable New Year's Eve.
