#11 Jul 25, 2012
None of the boys from 2000-2012 could even compare to the 89-90 team and joey Gibson played back in the 70's and if I remember they played more than 10 games in a season back then.
who knew

Joey Gibson's rushing record should be cut in half due to the amount of games they played back then so Rob Maynard would have the all time rushing record for green.

The boys from 2000-2012 couldn't even compare to the teams from 1991-1999 due to the schedule they had to play where the 2000-2012 teams played nobody's. If they would had played Chesapeake, lucasville, minford and teams like that they wouldn't even had a chance. But they played teams that was just starting up there football careers.

Joe GIbsons record at Green will NEVER be broken.
I watched him play. They only played 10 games. OHSAA NEVER EVER played more than 10 games a year.
AND the amount of teams that made the playoffs were cut in half. IF they had the same system as they do now....Green would have made the playoffs alot back in the 70's and 80's. Football at Green doesnt even compare to the teams in the 70's 80's and early 90's.

Talking again about the teams of the 89 and 90... I forget how many made 1st team all SOC those years several for sure... Plus from those teams you had 1 make st team ALL OhIO in 89 and 3 Make the 1st team All Ohio in 90... And the school or boosters has done nothing to honor those boys acccomplishment today as all other school that I have seen and been to.. This if they did it would give the players something to look up to and let them know that they can do the same some day with a lot of work on their part. One last thing 4 guys fro those teams went on to play college football as freshmen..

Definetly have to agree. They do need to do something to honor thoese guys. I also think the community needs to get behind the boys and the school and try to get there names out there more so they could have a chance to play college ball. Maby we wouldnt have some many of our good athletes transfer out to other schools. Also think parents need to quit trying to kiss so much A$$ and let the boys play. Stop trying to play the good ol boy game and let the best players play. Plus we need to get the high school coaches establishing not only the high school program but the peewee all the way up. Lets teach the little kids the basic high school scheme all the way up from pee wee to high school. I watched the pee wee do drills the other day and there not even teaching them proper form on how to come out of your stance. Plus if the high school coaches and players get involved in the pee wee program there gonna be more inspired and probably wanna play high school ball.

Joey Gibson record is for only his senior year and he got the record in only 10 games Rob Maynard had 12 games his senior to get it 10 regular and 2 playoffs
