you people are clueless...Ilion is a short 12 miles away from one of the biggest drug and crime cities in the state. you have no idea how much of that shit finds its way to this town, I think they do a pretty good job keeping it cleaned up.
You have brass B__ ls...You have no clue what’s going on in your village..DWEED! So you think the Ilion Police are doing a good job controlling the drugs in your so called drug infested Village. That’s right ..Drug infested village and your wonderful police Dept knows this and if they don't they should seek other employment. Most of your Ilion Police Department is Corrupt dummie!

ILION IS A SMALL TOWN BUT REMINGTON ARMS HAS SUPPORTED MY FAMILY SINCE DAY ONE WHEN MY HUSBAND STARTED WORKING THERE 25 YEARS AGO. I SEE THAT POLICE OFFICER EVERYDAY DIRECTING TRAFFIC --- I JUST THINK THOSE GUYS DO A NICE JOB. MY FAMILY HAS HAVE NEVER NEEDED THE POLICE IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION ,BUT ALWAYS SEE THEM UP AND DOWN THE STREET CONSTANTLY. AS FAR AS THE FIRE DEPARTMENT -- WE NEEDED THEM FOR MY MOTHER ONCE WHO HAD A STORKE AND THEY WERE EXCELLANT WITH WITH AND THE CARE SHE RECEIVED.
When do you see them up & down the street????..If those wonderful Ilion cops are on the ball how come they never caught the person who robbed the bank across the street from them "LOL" ...How is it Tony Licari was kicked out of the Police Department...How is it you have Ilion Police that are harassing, intimidating, falsely arresting also beating up your citizens and much more.... As far as Remington and the Ilion Police directing traffic...Remington should be paying for this service..NOT YOU! You right about your Fire Department they are A OK!
You sound like you honestly believe what you wrote...But sadly for you, you’re not seeing or being told the truth about all these slugs.

How many captaons does UPD have? I know that Ilion only has one, and that is the problem, only one other main supervisor working at the same time the chief does. Where is the chief anyways, even chief licari used to walk around the village a little, or go out in the car.
What are you? A cop !!!! I have never seen Chief Lacari walk any place..Who do you think you’re fooling...Surely not the people of Ilion..Why don't you shave and get ready for your shift officer and leave your boss (The Citizens of Ilion) alone. They want honesty when they blog.. unlike you!

Ilion PD has come a long way from where it was a few years ago. Ilion PD has had its misfortunes but that has definitely made you ALL stronger. You have all stuck by one another. You have a fine department and should all hold your heads high. You are ALL to be respected for the fine job you all do everyday. Lets not worry about the past....just all do your jobs and don't turn this forum into a backstabbing forum. If you have a problem with one another face that person head on and let the chips fall where they may. Don't do it here for the public to see what immature officers there MAY be at Ilion Police Dept. If this is where it is stemming from. Hold your heads high and proud...YOU ALL ARE THE VALLEY'S FINEST!!!!! Lets keep it that way!!!!!
You are a joke..Your'e obviously a politician, D.A, Attorney, cop or just down playing what is a very poor excuse for the Ilion Police Force.

consolidation of duplicate services is a great idea and a great way to eliminate overlaps. For example, in Frankfort, they have a Town PD and a Village PD. Totally a duplication of services. If they combined it, it could still produce the same service but at less cost. The Town purchases it's own vehicles and so does the village. Terrible use of Taxpayer's money.
Ilion PD certainly has room for improvement. The current Chief of Police lives far out of town. So if he is needed, he is too far away to respond. Therefore, someone needs to fill in. The result is overtime. The payroll on the PD is ridiculous. A village the size of Ilion does not justify the payroll expenses. Maybe the PD Chief should be required to live in the Village. As a salaried position, he would cover during after hours to eliminate a lot of the overtime.
Don't insult the people of Ilions intellegents..SLUG!!!

OK I did some checking with my friend who is friends with a police officer and he said that when your talking about the old Captain being on the evening shift that is true, however, there was also an additional sergeant working dayshift and his title was techinal sergeant. He worked days with the the Chief of Police. Now the Police Board eliminated that position and just has the Captains position, Chief, Investigator, three (instead of four) sergeants and patrol officers. With two dispatchers who are not cops.(?) I guess the point is clear that you make that they are on the same shift, does it matter I think the Chief of Police should know what he is doing --- not like those problems in Frankfort. I believe (or hope) all the officers have passed whatever tests it is that they take and I, for one, am very pleased with the Ilion Police Department.
Then you are either uninformed or you are part of a very big problem your Ilion police department has..And that is most of them are CORRUPT starting with your CHEIF.

Did you ever think maybe (Go along to get along)is what you are really saying.. People in your village are not stupid.. They know what goes on and they don't like it but are very afraid of retribution from your local and State police, your local judge, DA John Cradall, George Aney Mike Daley and the rest of Herkimer Counties Gestapo. You call Medicaid recipients lowlife lazy people, your wrong the majority need help.. These certain people like some I mentioned that run Herkimer county are the one's that are SCUMBAGS, BOTTOM FEEDERS and have been sucking off Herkimer and other counties for years. These are the very bad and vicious people who should be prosecuted.

When there is finally JUSTICE in the "open case" hit and run death of teenager Bruce Flitcroft on Barringer Road in summer of '79 or '80, his family might be able to get their lives back together. From what was published in the Evening Telegram at the time, the investigating officer had the same last name as the woman who owned the car that killed Bruce. The remainder is a rumor that the alleged driver of the car had the same last name and moved to California shortly after the incident. The grand jury failed to indict the suspect. As far as I know, NOTHING has happened after that, and the Ilion police department won't comment on an "open case". It is not known whether the Ilion police department ever asked the state police or any other outside agency to look into the matter, or to investigate a possible cover-up. The two teenagers walking with Bruce that night could have been killed as well, and they were permanently damaged from experiencing the incident. One found peace in drugs and alcohol, which landed him in trouble more than once. He's got that under control now, but still can't trust cops. He's constantly referring to the "chronic speeders" (we've all seen them), insisting most of them are off-duty cops, unmarked cop cars, corrections officers, friends of cops, friends with the district attorney, lawyers, etc. I think there may be some legitimacy to his allegations, because most normal speeders wouldn't have a license if they drove that way all the time. When I see a vehicle flying through Ilion at a high rate of speed, I figure he has to be someone "special". When a vehicle passes me on Main Street in a no passing zone at a high rate of speed, I figure it has to be someone "special". When that car load of kids was broadsided by a speeding cop who was allegedly in "persuit", I have little doubt that the cop was at fault. Did the Ilion police department ask for an outside investigation then, or was it "business as usual"? Oh, and by the way, the investigating officer involved in Bruce Flitcroft's case was actually considered for police chief. It makes me sick.
The two police officers are probably ex officer PAUL ROSE or ex officer and now UNDER SHIRFF GEORGE TREEN. I would not put it past those two dirt bags, they are so corrupt.

You can probably thank that dirt bag D.A. JOHN CRANDALL...He’s so corrupt he stinks!!! Just think .. The dirt bag is running for Herkimer County Court Judge.. If the people of Herkimer County think he’s corrupt now just think what it's going to be like IF he gets the judgeship. His buddy GEORGE ANEY is going to be happier than a pig in mud, all most as happy as when PAT KIRK and the Judges before him got in.. George boy is going to be winner in Herkimer county court...RIGHT CRANDALL!!!!

Maybe you should be proactive and start a skateboarding place--do the work for your kid- because I was driving up Grove Street the other day and it was probably your little sweetheart that almost became part of my grill because he was riding his skateboard over the hill where it was blind--he was a very lucky boy that day--and maybe the day pumpkin had his board taken away it was because of the lack of respect that most of these kids show when they decide to ride down the middle of a hill--and it may have saved his life. You should probably call and THANK them.
You mean it's the Ilion police that have not a lick of respect for the kids in Ilion. They don't have any respect for themselves let alone someone else. The Ilion police treat your kids like SH_t.

The Village of Frankfort has just hired 5 part time officers. The Village of Ilion is the ONLY regional department that does not utilize part time officers, to supplement full time rotations. This is a major reason for your increasing taxes. As shown with Frankfort you can actually have more officers on the street at less costs. Of course common sense and costs savings have not prevailed in Ilion government operations for some time.
