If they want your guns, they will take them. There is nothing we can do about it. If you fight the laws that they are putting in place, then you will go to jail. I don't like it either.

That kind of thinking is how dictators rise and great nations fall...

I'm just asking BUT....

As an average person living life, working and paying taxes .... WHY do u feel it's necessary to own an assault weapon? If someone did break into ur house u wouldn't have time to use it
anyway. If someone knocks down ur door and rushed in and woke u...by the time ur brain woke enough to respond you'd be dead. WHAT EXACTLY do YOU use that assault rifle for now?
The gun law changes aren't saying much different from 2nd amendment. You would still have the right to own guns .... just not the ones that had previously been unlawful until a few years ago. They aren't saying they will take back what u already own. Just trying to restrict nut jobs from being able to get a gun before they lose it. Why the opposition to the universal background check? It could be the life of your loved one or yourself if it keeps that drugged out lid down the street from getting one in his hand and letting loose.

Asking again ...PLEASE explain to me why an average person NEEDS an assault weapon in their possession?

It's not a question of need but of right to own. I don't need 5 cars but I have the right to own them. I enjoy driving these cars and they are legal to own so why would anyone tell me I can't have them or buy even more? The same with an assault rifle. I enjoy shooting it. It's a legal weapon bought from a licensed dealer. Many more people are killed by cars every day than are killed by assault rifles in several years but nobody wants to ban Toyotas. People want to blame the tool rather than the individule. If a drunk driver kills someone, nobody blames the car or the alcohol. They blame the driver as they should. Don't blame the gun because of the action of a deranged individule. Timothy McVeigh killed 168 people and never fired a shot but nobody has proposed banning fertilizer or Ryder trucks.

First, these laws won't prevent bug jobs from getting these guns. Current laws are in place to restrict firearm possession from convicted felons, but you always see charges for them being caught with guns. Truth is these restrictions would truly only stock purchases by law-abiding citizens. This law is more about taking more control. This is just a first step in a line of many. There will be a "need" for more restrictions and it'll be easier to get them passed.

You should read my post on obama dont care about our kids for reasons to keep them. I have a 45 by my bed in a finger print activated safe its for in home protection also a assault rifle is in a secure location when the need for it arises you or no one would want to be in my house all it takes is a flip of the safety. same as a pistol the assult rifle is for me is the out door gun as well as in doors its also for family members to grab if needed. Out door senario is someone trying to steal a car or just any threat on my land. Its a tool its fun its no differant than any other gun in law abidding hands. If criminals and the police can have them why cant i.

when the law enforcement personel and military personel come to your door asking for your gun or guns your right. Ive not heard any of them that ive talked to say they would be willing to do that. They have them in their homes to they also take an oath to uphold the constitution and protect its citizens. Thats why we all need to stick together and make our voices heard and stand our ground and not give them up in the event they come to your door are you willing to go down fighting that will determine the out come.

Most people would fight who ever would come for guns. And the government knows that. So, it won't happen.

Actually there have been laws put into place and consistently updated over the years to curb these DWI deaths, the BAC alone has been changed over the past two decades which has brought down road fatalities, so no they don't ban toyotas but they do put some type of laws in place to fix the problem.

Cars and assault rifles? Not much of a comparison.
