They already have a plant in china and lost most of their business in mexico.
Now a lesson in economics for you non union, almost every part produced in frankfort is sold to automakers here in the good ol usa.
The cost to ship those parts from china or mexico back here to the states would absorb all profit margins from those parts.
So, if you actually think they would move out, you must have a screw loose.

It will never go through. I worked there several years ago and the union always comes up every few years. Thing is most of the people that work there and say they want the union are all for it till it comes time to sign the card then they cower down and nothing happens. Another thing is the union is voted in and can be voted out as well just make sure everything is written in black and white. I think it would be an eye opener for the company if the union came in.

And don't forget if you have the balls to sign then they find a reason to get rid of you been there done that. If the other auto unions would refuse to buy parts from a non union company that would really get the ball rolling. That's why GreenHeck has a union

I signed a card when the UAW came in they never got rid of me. You are correct if the auto manufactures would refuse to buy things would change

Unions are for the lazy and for the corrupt union leaders. Ive seen it personally. Unions only absorb a portion of your paycheck that you cannnot recover from. You might get a slight bump in form of a raise in year 1, but the dues will absorb all of that and only go toward lazy bums acting like they are there on Your behalf. Most on this forum I would assume would not vote for Obama for reasons of infringement, but on the other hand might consider a union which is as social of a group as you can get. Check Europe out, full of social Unions. Social programs are not always bad but on the Labor Union side they are destructive.

You are trying to give economic lessons by supporting a union? Its pretty common knowledge that a union goes against every market principle possible when it comes to economics.

Unless you are a current employee, your comments are baseless. Only those currently working there can decide what they want.

$0.21 raise? Sounds good to this state employee. I haven't had a decent raise in 11 years, and the last 2 have been pay CUTS.

And as for unions, if you've got the chance to join or start one, you'd be nuts not to. This is coming from a family of UMWA members. If you want to swallow that "free market" garbage, feel free, but conservative theories on the economy are not there to help the working man.

Public sector workers are making leaps and bounds above private sector workers for doing much less work, with better benefits. They already had an estimated 30+% too many workers for the available work when Obama took office and he's added many more public workers for the taxpayers to pay for that we didn't need. Let's take a look at how many more are making in the 6 figures since Obama took office. I know guys who "work" and I use that figure loosely, about 6 hours per day as auditors and get paid over $50K a year for doing next to NOTHING AND they have MUCH BETTER benefits than I do.

This is not true. I am a public sector worker, and I haven't had a decent raise in 11 years. Most of those years, if you count the rising cost of insurance, have been pay cuts, and with furlough days this most recent two years, we lost a significant amount of our income. I had FAR better benefits when I worked in the private sector. In the private sector, my cell phone was paid for and I received a Christmas bonus every year that was about 4% by itself. On top of that, I received a 4% raise every year. This was working in private industry. Working in government has been a huge disappointment.

You keep talking about Obama, so I assume your gripe isn't with "public sector" employees, but rather federal employees? I don't know a single person that makes $50k a year for only 6 hours work. Everyone I know making $50k a year or more works the standard 7.5 hour workday, and almost all of them are educated with at least a 4-year degree and quite a few years experience.
