Ok, I was just wondering how/why the hell these bugs are so bad now? I dont have them and dont plan on getting them but damn it makes you think about going into a persons house. Its not just any certain kind of people that have them, Ive heard of them in rich, clean peoples houses because you can just go to kroger and grab a cart and get them on you and then into your home. How can we get rid of them I never heard so many stories until this year so WTF is going on with this issue??

Yeah, I think they had them pretty well wiped out until the DDT was banned. What really worries me is motel rooms. I've heard they are really a problem in many motels. With luggage and such, the chances of taking a few little hitch-hikers home is very good. LOL, for some reason, sleeping in the car at the interstate rest area is sounding more appealing all the time.

Seriously these bugs are becoming a major problem in many areas. They don't feed on filth like, for example, a roach. Clean homes and buildings are just as likely to get them. Often times, an infestation takes a long time to detect. Here is a really good article from the University of Kentucky that tells all about the little scoundrels:
http://www.ca.uky.edu/entomology/entfacts/ef6...

I'll admit, I'm very paranoid about bugs and while typing this I'm kind of dancing around saying "ewww" and having shivers. However, bedbugs really are becoming a major problem, especially for frequent travelers, as these little critters will crawl into your clothing and luggage and go home with you undetected. And I can promise you right now, even the most pristine appearing hotel/motel room can have an infestation.

No way! Someone in my area bought a new sofa, it was infested with bed bugs. Also a store that resells yard sale and consignment items was infested and had to be closed until Orkin or one of the chemical companies debugged it. The health dept.shut the store down for three months. So be careful going going to yard sales etc, because it doesn't matter how clean you are. Bedbugs are a major problem right now! Williamstown KY Independent schools had to be shut down several months back because of bed bug infestation. This is a private school.

i am a pest control tech. to give evry body a theroy on bed bugs. u can get them weather ur house is clean or filthy. bed bugs are really hard to get rid of. i deal with them on a dailey basis. but one thing i have learned exterminating them is they are more found in apt complexs then residential homes but dont get me wrong they arte found in homes. once you have gotten them u need to call a pest control comp immediatley. what u neeed to look for
1: bed bug they are oval redish brown bout the size of a tick

2: irretation to the skin will an possibly can look like flea or mosquito bite.

3: staining around or on bed including mattress an box springs
you can s also fine them in other furniture including couches dresserers tables cloths u can pretty much find them in any crack n crevice

The bedbugs bury themselves in the seams of your clothes and they do not fall off. They live off human blood. They bite and leave dark brown stains on your clothes that smell terrible. They are much harder to get rid of than lice. When I was a little child my uncle and aunt brought them to our house. They had taken a train to visit us. The bedbugs infested our mattresses, our wallpaper and any nook and cranny they could find. At night they would come out and crawl on us and bite us. We tried every available option to no avail. Finally we used Lindane, which was available to buy at the time which was at least 50 years ago. The lindane did the trick. And the pest control man is right if you get them in your house you had better call Orkin or any of the other pest control companies'. My mom was an immaculate housekeeper but it doesn't matter how clean you are. My advice is to stay away from yard sales, consignment shops, and yes they have been found in new furniture! Schools in Ky have been shut down to eliminate the bedbugs. This is a major problem right now!! Be careful!

Josh it's great to see you back on Topix! You have been a great contributor to this site! I was concerned for you because of some of the negative posts recently posted. Stand tall, keep on posting! Thats pretty funny, you need to read up on bed bugs, anyone can get them no matter how clean your house is. what a idiotic thing to say really.

If the truth is spoken through negative words of prejudice and racism, then I guess the truth does hurt. So, is that why Josh disappeared? Everyone that was posting things about him was speaking the truth. I think there's some real truth, if you really must know. He's a prejudiced, racist, idiotic, sorry excuse for a human being. How about that truth?
