I am searching for a home church who is open minded and loving and spirit filled. I want my family to get back into church and really need some advice on some good churches. Please and thank you

Capital City is a great place to try out.

We're non denominational.

We believe there needs to be "unity" in the essentials of the Christian faith, but certainly encourage individual, prayerful decision making freedom in the "extras."

Our worship is along the contemporary lines.

Child care and all that kind of stuff is provided.

We are the one on Versailles road in between the two car lots (Crossroads and Nissan i think) on the hill (other side of road from Tractor Supply)

Thank you very much for the info I will try it out but I am really looking for a small church, somewhere where I can be greeted by first name and feel like home. Open to all

I go to Evergreen Baptist. Most people are on a first name basis. Small congregation. Bible preaching church. The pastor preaches straight from the bible. We welcome everyone. I usually wear a sweatshirt and jeans. They don't care how you look just that you came to hear the word of God. We would love to see you at church. You can also call the pastor anytime day or night and he is more than willing to listen and help as much as he can. I think you would like it. Hope to see you there one day.

I have been to Evergreen Baptist Church. A stranger walking in off the street. I was greeted with open arms by all, was asked to sit with the preachers family. Small Church preaching straight from the Bible. Everybody so friendly and asked a stranger back. No pressure to attend, just a friendly reminder the Church is open to all. It's like walking into home when you go through the door. This would be a #1 Church to try.

Missed you to but I sit with the pastor's family. Everybody there is friendly, invite you back but without pressure. They know I can't come every Sunday but that's alright. I like that, no pressure to attend but if you miss some Sunday's they still treat you like family. I like the Pastor and the way he breaks things down to our language today. Much easier to understand and the Bible is not so overwhelming to read.
Prayers to you and yours.

Brad is a great preacher. He really gets his point across so you can understand it. They know I can't be there every Sunday due to my illness but that whole church prays for me. It doesn't matter who you are or what you look like, you are always welcome there. And many times when he has been at home playing with his kids he has stopped and talked to me when I needed a shoulder. I just don't think you can find a better church.

Just to add to that, everything he preaches comes straight from the Bible. If you have any doubts about what he has said, within probably less than a minute he can show it to you in the Bible.

If you are looking for an "open minded" church, quit looking. Because when you find one,the church won't save you. You might as well sit home on Sunday morning.
If you are looking for a church that teaches scripture in an intellectual way, try Capital City. I can't speak for the other churches because I don't attend them.

I think I have given you enough ammo to think about Evergreen Baptist. If you want a big church then I think CCCC would be a wonderful church for you. But if you are looking for a smaller church you should give us a try. Like I said we open our doors and welcome anyone who wants to learn about and worship God.

No "Church" can save you but they can lead you to the Lord. If you want a Church that teaches straight from the Bible, greets you with open arms even if you can't make it every Sunday, everybody is on a first name basics, have something for young and old, gets involved in community activities (not just ours but other counties), then Evergreen Baptist is the place to check out. I live in Bald Knob and drive past many Churchs to attend this small community Church. Yesterday's sermon helped me to understand a part of my life that has been so messed up all my life. I felt like he was talking to me and the Pastor does not know the problems I have but he made me understand I was looking for the wrong Father. I don't need the father that ditched me because he can't save me but the one and only Father we all share is the only one we need. If your soul has a void in it, then I would give this Church a try. You want leave empty.

If you don't mind driving to Clayvillage - it's not that far - we would love to have you come to our church. It's Cross Keys Worship Center. Everyone is warm and friendly and everyone is greeted by name or as brother or sister. Nobody is "shushed" (especially children) or ogled or judged for their clothes. You can wear what you want. Many are related to each other but not all. Brother George is very "real" and a wonderful person. We have good music and good preaching. You WILL receive a spiritual blessing before you leave. Please give us a try. We would love to have you. We are a very small and cozy church too!

This is an honest question brother. What did you give to the "body" while you were there? What programs did you volunteer for? Were you there to eat or to feed others? It makes a difference.

I liked South Frankfort Presbyterian Church on Steele Street.

I have family who go to Highland Christian Church on Versailles Road and love it. It seems like a very family and child-friendly church.

And I have a friend who really wants me to go to Bridgeport Christian. I've met the pastor...really nice fellow.

The nice thing about this country is our freedom of religion and the freedom to try out different churches to see where we can best celebrate God's presence in our life.:)
