The food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. I have eaten there many times and used the drive-thru - love it!!

I tried Staxx and found it to be a sad excuse for BBQ. I had chicken and brisket. The brisket was OK, but it had quite a bit of fat and griddle. The chicken was very dry and had a funny chemical taste, perhaps Liquid Smoke. The toast was thin, limp, and only toasted on one side. The coleslaw looked like it had a tiny bit of dressing, but it tasted like plain cabbage. The sweet potato fries were cold, limp, and way too sweet. They could probably be served warm with a scoop of ice cream for an average tasting dessert. Either the unsweet iced tea or the ice had a bit of a metallic taste. I went on a Friday evening and about half the tables were taken. It took 10-15 minutes to get the food and everything but te toast was cold. I tried all the sauces, and they are above average, but not great. There were flies everywhere. The cost for 2 people was $25.

I am so glad I moved out of Frankfort. No wonder its so far behind the times. Frankfort residents whine and complain to bring more restaurants to the town, then when new ones do show up you all complain yet again about food quality and/or prices. I have eaten at Staxx once when I was in town visiting family, it was delicious and well worth the price.

I thought the pulled pork was good but the brisket was fatty. Cole slaw and M & C were good.

I described my experience at this restaurant, which occured very recently. I have seen the new restaurant phenomenon in Frankfort, as well as other cities. Places start out quite busy, but as the new rush begins to diminish, so does the food quality, value, and/or service. I have also found that many places serve a few items that are excellent, while other items on the menu are mediocre. For instance, I have repeatedly heard that the ribs at Staxx are good, but I can attest that the chicken is not. So, do you think that it is possible that you had a different experience due to ordering different menu items or by dining when the place was a little newer and in higher demand?

Also, should people in Frankfort be willing to eat crap food and pay excessive prices just because we are in Frankfort? Should I really be expected to eat food that is half as good as a BBQ joint in Louisville, pay one and a half times the price of the BBQ joint in Louisville, and be happy just because I didn't have to drive? Really, how much should it be worth to a Frankfort citizen to avoid a trip to a nearby city?

Staxx does nothing for me. The smoky taste is all in the sauce, NOT on the meat where it should be. And it's just too expensive for fast food. I've eaten there twice. Might eat there once in the next year. If I want to pay $10 for lunch, I'll go to a little nicer place.

Staxx is very good. I eat there 2 time a week if I can. I do not think it is too expensive. I paid about $7.00 for a pulled pork and side with drink. You almost spend that at McDonalds.

I don't think Staxx is expensive at all. Arby's is more expensive than that.

Anyway, I think they're very good. The TX toast leaves a little to be desired, but I love the hot bbq sauce!

Good for Frankfort, definitely.

And, yes, Frankfort. If you want the best restaurants in the state, you are going to have to go to Louisville. Or Lex. But probably Louisville. It's just the way it works. The cities with the highest population and the highest per capita income get the most talented chefs generally. Frankfort is mostly a 9-5 (or, if you're with the state 8-4:30) city. You'll never have the kind of population and food culture Louisville (or Lex, to a lesser extent) has

I think staxx is great! A little more than some of the slop you can get but well worth it. I like that in this economy people are still trying to give more options and take risks to make our life better in frankfort. There is a mattress store that just opened by krogers on versailles, They are a small "mom and pop" type establishment and My husband and I just bought a serta eurotop queen set for less than 1/2 these big chains or anyone in lexington could sell it for!! LETS KEEP OUR $ LOCAL SO WE CAN GROW BETTER! SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL SHOPS AND SAVE $!

Very well said. Frankfort attracts the lowest common denominator of
of eateries. We will never see a Ruth's Chris Steak House here.

I thought there pulled pork was terrible. Greasy, and not very good taste. I consider myself a good judge on BBQ. If you compare to Billy in Lexington it was horrible. The sauce also was not very good. Liked the baked beans though.

The food you get at Staxx is way better than anything you could ever get at mcdonalds. In my opinion you get what you pay for. Staxx BBQ is where it's at!

Ive eaten at Ruth's Chris Steak house and excuse me but it was not all that. Matter of fact I can select a steak at the grocer and do much better myself. Aged steak has to be aged perfectly or it leaves a dead game taste, and the 2 times I have been at Ruth's that was the taste I had with their serving. I believe a good rub can be much better than aged beef.

I love Staxx, I have eaten there many times and find the pulled pork and the chicken to both be quite delicious. I love their potato salad and green beans. I did try the corn muffins once and they were a bit dry for my taste so I stick with the texas toast.
For $10.99 you can get enough food for 2 or 3 people and a drink, not bad at all.
Very bad not going back

I did not have a good experience the first time I ate there. Then I tried it again and was ok, so I have gone back...which was a mistake. Unfortunately, the place is in frankfort and so hires local employees and apparently doesn't manage them very well. This is a problem in 9 out of 10 places in town in my opinion. The last time I ate there (and will never again) was the worst. I went thru the drivethrough and got a 2 meat meal. I had to remind them that it comes with 2 sides. It took a while (they weren't busy) and when I got my food it was wrong but they had already slammed the window shut and walked away to talk to some buddies inside. So I drove around and went inside to get the cornbread they had left out. I watched the counter dude go get it from the bin with his HANDS and no utensils. I then asked him to get me two pieces that he had not touched with his hands and he said "oh we have tongs to get them out with" and I said " i watched you use your hands" and told him to never mind and I wouldn't be back. The employees don't care and the manager apparently didn't either.
