DOES ANYONE REALIZE THAT SANDRA COY IS THE ONE WHO GOT THE PETION FOR THE NEO-NAZI RALLY HERE IN FRANKFORT? SHE HAS BEEN RUN OUT OF LARUE COUNTY FOR ANIMAL CRUELTY. SHE NOW LIVES IN BALD KNOB ALONG WITH 3 STARVING HORSES, THAT THE SHERRIFS DEPARTMENT WONT DO ANYTHING ABOUT. SHE ALSO HAS 60 FIGHTING PIT BULLS THAT ARE ALSO STARVING, CHAINED TO TREES WITH LOG CHAINS. IN LARUE COUNTY WHEN THE ANIMAL CONTROL GOT THERE SHE HAD DEAD DOGS STILL CHAINED TO THEIR DOG HOUSES. SHE ALSO SPONSORED HURRICANE KATRINA PIT BULLS BUT WHEN THE LOUISIANA HUMANE SOCIETY CAME TO RECLAIM THEM HAD FOUGHT THEM AND THEY HAD DIED. PLEASE CONTACT THE SHERRIFS OFFICE AND LET THEM KNOW THAT YOU HAVE RESEARCHED SANDRA COY AND THAT SHE DOESNT NEED TO HAVE ANIMALS AND SHE NEEDS TO LEAVE THIS COUNTY.

You must be a good detective. I worked for a state agency that her neighbor in Larue County called often trying to get her prosecuted.

Not sure what that outcome was, but this story is very true. According to the reports I took, she had the dogs chained to water barrels at that time.

Sadly according to Kentuckys pathetic animal welfare laws, people only have to provide food, water and shelter for their animals. And a lot of people would consider a water barrel shelter.

We suck at protecting our animals here.

BTW, at that time, she classified herself as a rescue organization.

And if you don't already know, I've heard she can be a very nasty person. So be careful.

Our beloved president eat him some dog as a little boy. I heated Sandra Coy invited prezerdent Obamer over to eat him up some doggie....

Romney’s ancient enemy — Barack Obama, POTUS — has his own shady history with the dog race. In Dreams of My Father — the book that all your friends swore they read cover to cover back in 2007 — Obama discusses some of the food he ate as a young boy living in Indonesia:
I learned how to eat small green chili peppers raw with dinner (plenty of rice), and, away from the dinner table, I was introduced to dog meat (tough), snake meat (tougher), and roasted grasshopper (crunchy). Like many Indonesians, Lolo followed a brand of Islam that could make room for the remnants of more ancient animist and Hindu faiths. He explained that a man took on the powers of whatever he ate: One day soon, he promised, he would bring home a piece of tiger meat for us to share.

She is a crazy woman, I can personally say she is nuts! Yes, she abuses her dogs and no one does a thing about it. She was in the paper a while back for animal abuse. Someone needs to chain her to a barrell with no food. And this crazy abuser claims to be a nurse. Glad she no longer has her license!

A Franklin County couple have been charged with animal cruelty after officials removed 11 pit bulls from their property - leaving nearly 50 dogs behind.

Sandra Coy, 52, and William S. Coy, 44, both of 3387 St. Johns Road, were served Sunday with multiple misdemeanor cruelty to animals charges after Franklin County Sheriff's deputies and animal control officers raided their property Dec. 14.

According to Sheriff Steve Clark, the Coys had more than 60 dogs at their property when officers received complaints that barking dogs were chained in the Coys' yard.

Clark said 11 malnourished animals, two of which ultimately died from their treatment, were taken from the Coys' property in December.

Nearly 50 animals remained at the property, Clark said.

The Coys have an unlisted telephone number and could not be reached for comment.

No one answered the door at their St. Johns Road residence Thursday, though dogs could be heard barking inside and they were pawing at a window partially obscured by a Christmas tree.

A barking German Shepherd was chained to an outbuilding on a sliding lead that crossed a frozen creek.

Numerous other dogs, pit bulls included, were chained to buildings and near dog kennels in sub-freezing temperatures.

Court documents said county animal control officer Kevin Caudle described the dogs as "malnourished" and "in poor condition."

An animal control official declined to comment on the investigation into the Coy's treatment of their animals.

A 2007 article attributed to Hardin County's News-Enterprise posted on the Web site www.pet-abuse.com says the Coys have walked this road before.

The article says they agreed in August 2007 to leave Larue County and not return with animals for two years after they were charged there with 12 counts of animal cruelty.

LaRue County officials confiscated 37 pit bulls, a German Shepherd and eight puppies from their property, the article says.

A dog was found dead on its chain when officers arrived at their property.

The article says 11 of their dogs died after they were housed in a Taylor County animal shelter, either from attack from other dogs or disease.

The Coys received six months jail time in the matter, which was probated for two years, the article said.

According to meeting minutes posted on city Web sites, Sandra Coy addressed city council members in Ludlow, Taylor Mill and Crestview Hills in 2005 concerning dog breed bans.

She decried breed-specific bans and vicious dog legislation at local levels, the Taylor Mill minutes said.

Coy was identified as chairperson of Responsible Dog Owners of Eastern States at the Crestview Hills meeting.

Coy and her husband are set to appear in Franklin County District Court Feb. 24.

Incident Date: Thursday, Aug 23, 2007
County: Larue

Charges: Summary, Misdemeanor
Disposition: Dismissed (Conditional)

Persons of Interest:
» William Scott Coy
» Sandra Coy

A Hodgenville couple charged with cruelty to animals and violation of several county ordinances has reached an agreement with prosecutors in LaRue District Court.

As part of the plea agreement, William Scott Coy, 43, and Sandra Coy, 50, of Peppers Road, agreed to move outside LaRue County and not keep or bring animals into the county for two years. They declined to give out their new address in court Friday.

Special judge Sue Carol Browning presided over the Coys' hearing as regular District Judge C. Derek Reed recused himself from presiding over the existing case in August. Reed said he might not be able to rule impartially, given the frequency of external incidents, such as the appearance of the Humane Society representatives in the courtroom.

The Coys each faced 12 charges of second-degree cruelty to animals, a Class A misdemeanor, after a sheriff's department investigation Aug. 23. Officers, who responded to a complaint of an odor coming from the property, said they found one dead dog still on a chain and the grave of another dog. Officers said they carried water to 10 dogs on a day when temperatures topped out in excess of 100 degrees.

A court order gave the officers permission to remove all other dogs, 37 pit bulls, one German Shepherd and eight puppies, from the property. The animals were housed at a shelter in Taylor County - at taxpayer expense - until Monday (Jan 14, 2008).

According to testimony, 11 of the Coys' dogs died in the kennel - some as a result of disease, others due to attacks by other dogs.

Prosecution on the 12 counts was deferred for two years on condition the Coys were to pick up their animals within five days or forfeit them, not engage in illegal activity and release LaRue and Taylor County employees from any liability regarding the dogs. The Coys were not required to pay for boarding and feeding the dogs.

The Coys also faced several counts of violation of county ordinance dating from 2006 and 2007. On two counts, they each entered an Alford plea, which means they maintained their innocence but agreed the evidence could return a guilty verdict.

On those counts, they received six months jail time, probated for two years. Two other counts were dismissed. In all, the Coys were fined $602 in penalties and court costs which must be paid by April 9.

Browning told the couple: "Please get it paid because I don't want to drive up here for a bench warrant."

Sandra Coy argued that one of her dogs was given to someone in Louisiana through the intervention of the Humane Society. The dog "Sophie" was believed to be a rescue from Hurricane Katrina, however, Sandra Coy said the dog was hers and she wanted it returned.

Browning said Coy would have to pursue the issue through a civil suit.

Animal ordinance officer Jill Gray said the Coys picked up the animals Monday.

Gray did not have a total for the dogs' boarding, food and veterinarian expenses since August. However, she believes there should be a system in place to require persons accused of animal cruelty to post bond for the animals' care. She plans to speak before the Kentucky legislature in February about the matter.

"This costs small counties a fortune," she said.

It makes you wonder whats going on in their minds. Its so hard to believe people like Sandra Coy and friends are still around in society today. And even more shameful is that the Commonwealth of Kentucky agrees with Sandra Coy to allow those animals to live in water barrels, and some with their ribs and hip bones pertruding. I mean come on people seriously.

I have see the dogs and horse's up close. Since the Horse's have arrived, they have improved in condition. The picture in the newspaper is from when they first arrived. I even asked her why she would take in a 25 year old horse? Her response was "So it wouldn't be slaughtered." Personally seems to me that her heart was in the right place. Just not well prepared as far as fenced in area goes.
As far as the dogs go, they are all fat, and pretty energetic, except for one that looks to be about 12-13 years old. For an American Pit Bull Terrier to even live that long is rare. As far as Larue county goes, she had been in Georgia for 6 months, and was paying someone to care for the dogs, and they dropped the ball!! Hell they barely even showed up!!
As for the dogs from Hurricane Katrina, she fostered out a great majority of them. One guy strait stole the 2 dogs he had. Another guy produced phone records showing where he called the people responsible for the Katrina dogs, and never received a response. The dogs were up here for about 2 years before anyone came looking for them. All of them were infected with something, heart worm, etc... When the director of Tylertown dropped the ball, she rolled over on Sandi Coy for a scape goat. One dog that was returned to the rescue group, was stashed in Indiana so that they could drum up more sorrow, and make a profit machine out of the whole venture. The dog lived it's days out safe sound and healthy with miss G. Although the Hurricane Katrina rescue group never returned for her!
I already know who started this post, and you need to keep your ass in Louisiana, or be prepared for some Bluegrass justice. You are a miserable woman, with no life! I wish you well and maybe one of these days you will find a hobby that doesn't include harassing people everywhere. I am very well tied into the judicial system, and have heard your phone calls. Not to mention the phone calls and area codes of all your friends from Tylertown. WV, IN, LA, etc...
Dear Frankfortians,
Do not fall into this ladies rhetoric, and show them that we are way smarter then any swamp water sucking bored house wife.

People the media lies. Bored house wives start drama for others, because they have nothing else to do! The HSUS runs those pathetic ads on TV to dive into your wallets. They really don't care about those animals. It's all about $$$$$!! If not their Organization President wouldn't live in a $500,000.00 house! Think twice before you make assumptions, because assumptions make an A$$ out of you!

Yes, the pictures were taken last week by the Sheriff's office. I know the guy that took them and saw them the same day as they were taken.
I don't know about the rest of the story, but I do know about the pictures.
