Will you idiots please stop turning this into your own personal situations! The state journal clearly said that the woman had an eye that was SWOLLEN SHUT, and the man had a gun that he pointed at police! He also already had assault and burglary charges on him from previous crimes. This man sounds like a psycho and a loose cannon. Would you all rather the cops stood there and watched while he finished beating his wife/girlfriend then killed her and himself? I'm glad the cops did what they did. And I'm glad none of you are in charge of protecting our city cuz wow.

I never said that he shouldn't have been dealt with in the manner the police saw fit.

People generally don't go around announcing to friends that they beat their girlfriend/wife.
And you NEVER know someone, even if you live with them if they don't want you to.
People arent ” good people” just because you can sit and have a beer with them at the Brick.

The girl Paul had been seeing off and on for years was taken to the hospital and treated for multiple injuries caused by him. Officers asked him REPEATEDLY to lower his weapon and step away from the female and her refused to comply; instead he pointed the gun at Officers. I know both Paul and the woman involved and I am sorry they wound up in this type of situation; and sorry that I will be paying my respects to Paul's family. I wish the female a swift recovery both physically and emotionally. For those of you who are blaming the female - STFU. Obviously you have no clue what happened, or what kind of person she is. This was a domestic violence CALL, meaning domestic violence was reported as occurring at the time...there was no DVO in place!

Family friend.....was Paul having emotional problems or alcohol problems or something to cause him to go off like that? Like I said, when I knew him, I never would have dreamed anything like this. It's so sad...for him, his family, the girl involved and her family. I'm sure none of them saw this coming.

Paper says ALL the respondind cops were placed on administrative leave? That is thw first time I have ever heard of that. Normally they place only the shooting cop on leave pending investigation of the occurance that led to the shooting. Its stange to place wvery cop that showed up on leave. Two things had to had happened for this outcome. Either all the cops shot their weapon, which would be an overkill or witnesses has claimed that all the cops used more force than necessary to end the dispute. Either way it appears that this man probally was killed when it wasn't needed.. I know this much for fact, my brother caught his ex wife cheating and he got into an argument with her and she got the EPO's & Had him put out of his own home and that very night that he had to leave, she had her COP LOVER SPEND THE NIGHT WITH HER! That is another person that used the legal system to protect her from her immoral ways of living and no man should ever have to leave his home just so his wife can whore around with impunity.. Her cop lover knew the system and showed her the ropes to play. Now a man is dead for smacking a woman. Instant death penalty dispersed by our state cops.
Yourm an idiot for sure, you don't know the details of the case and just running your mouth. As for your sister in law maybe she just needed some real dick.

My post should have said "step away from the weapon", not "female". It was a typo...nothing more. Fact is if you point a weapon at Officers you can expect to get shot. Any idiot who has ever seen an episode of "Cops" knows this. I am sure the Trooper9s) responsible are shaken as well; they are not trained killers and taking a life has to be a difficult decision even when it is the right call to make.

His name was paul demaree and his daughter kaycee is my sister. She is going through alot right now. Nobody knows the whole story and what happend that night except for him and the lady that was there.. I know paul and yes he had a drinking problem but there are many people in frankfort with problems.. My sister is devistated and for you all to get on here and say some rude stuff and try to tell a story you dont know or have no part in.. Are wrong and should just mind your own buisness there is enough going on already we dont need this stuff on here too.. Yes the police are in the wrong for doing what they did when they could have took other precautions to calm him down thats why in the paper it state that all of the police that where there are on leave and wont be back untill they further investigate the whole story.. So if you all will be kind do not post dumb stuff and rude shit on here for his daughter and mothers sake its tough.. Thank you!

AMEN!! This tread is about the persons involved in the shooting; NOT about this fool's issues with whether DVO's are overused and/or violated.

Fact- man had 2 outstanding warrants (assault, burglary)
Fact- man beat his girlfriend so that her eye was swollen shut and she lost consciousness.
Fact- man pointed weapon at state troopers
Fact- man deceased

Everything else is guess work until investigation/autopsy is over.

Please remember a man lost his life= be compassionate
Also, do not pretend to know what happened or what should have happened. Unless you are an officer and have been in that position do not presume you know anything.
