I would not have waited 4 hrs. There is a clinic in Shelbyville that is open, they listen to your problems and treat as needed but you need to see your doctor asap.
The hospital in Frankfort would pizz off a cup of pizz!!

She is right, i went in September four times with a headache. It was the worst headache ever, throwing up, fever, etc. They sent me home every time. Once it was mono, told me to take a day off and go back to work after a day. It ended up being viral meningitis, they never caught it and wouldn't help me get rid of any of it. Had to go to a neurologist in Lexington. Capital Family was no different.

I never once said I asked for narcotics. But yes I do have pain as half of my colon taken out and I have a pacemaker to help make my stomach work which causes pain. I just said that they think I am faking my disease so I go to UL where my surgeon is and they know how to treat my condition. And the disease is called gastroparesis and until you get it you can't say if it causes pain or not.
A pacemaker to make your stomach work? LOL! Really?

Yeah it's called a gastric stimulator. The wires connect to the nerves of my stomach and shock them to make my stomach empty. It's called gastroparesis. Look it up before you start laughing at me. It's not a joke and it's not funny. It's a miserable condition and has drastically changed my life. If you had it, I guarantee you wouldn't laugh about it. Most people call it a gastric pacemaker, but both terms mean the same thing. When it doesn't work right my stomach doesn't empty. This means I throw up until my stomach is empty or I get a blockage and have to have surgery. Seriously, it's nothing to laugh at. But thanks for the compassion. Again, if you don't believe me, which it sounds like you don't, look it up. Become educated about it. Then you can come back and talk to me about it.

No you guys, the ER here really does suck here. I was there about a month ago because I had uncontrollable puking, and they wouldn't let me get up to use the bathroom or have a bedpan.!!! Thats ridiculous. Sorry excuse for an ER. Once I was admitted in the hospital, it was alright. But the ER does suck, I agree. The ER doctor was very rude too!

My E.R. doctor was a woman. She accused my husband of beating me, I hit a big buck, the hair was still on the truck and Officer Weber worked the wreck. She was not the only one, 3 other women questioned me and called in a Social worker. They were still talking when I walked out.

Me and my husband were playing around and I playfully punched him. Broke my hand. I told the ER staff all of that and they said I was in an abusive relationship and in denial. Social services and police got called in. Blew my mind.

I realize that the OP was joking.

However, Frankfort Hospital is a JOKE!!! I have Osteogenesis Imperfecta (layman's term "Brittle Bone Disease". I used to go to Frankfort Hospital for my broken bones, and several times I went there for multiple broken bones. Roughly 20 broken bones (not all at the same time, the most broken bones I had at once when I went there was four). Do you know how they treated me? Like sh!t. I had been laughed at several times, and told nothing was wrong with me and to go home and take aspirin, or tylenol.

After every time I went to them with broken bones, I would then go to St. Joseph's. They would find my broken bones with ease. Then I would always be referred to Dr. Lyon's (Dr. Dobner's partner), and he would get HEATED about the way Frankfort treated me, and couldn't believe that they missed all my broken bones.

So, now I go to St. Joseph's every single time I break a bone.

There was one exception. Two months ago, I fell and broke my leg at 4am when I got up from bed to go to the bathroom, so I had no choice but to call 911 and of course the ambulance to me to Frankfort. Dr. Motavo (I know I'm not spelling that right), actually found the broken bone! I was so impressed, seeing as how he works at Frankfort.

Still, if I can help it, I go to St. Joseph's. In my opinion that is the best hospital in all of central KY.

if the ER is so bad....
why is it always full?
why are they having to add more beds due to lack of space?
why do they always have to have the police there?
is it because people act like idiots when they go in there?

The police are there to protect the doctors because they treat the patients so bad. No joke. I used to work there. The ER doctors are terrible. If you're up on the floor, you are treated very respectful. Totally different story in the ER. People complain about it but plain and simple it's the only hospital in town. I choose to go to Louisville for personal reasons but not everybody can afford to go to other cities. Another problem in Frankfort is that it costs money to go to a doctor but if you go to the ER and can't pay, they write it off as a charity account. They need more beds but not for actual emergencies.

Sadly a lot of people do go their just for pain medicine which makes it hard for people who really need them to get them. It seems that the ER doctors automatically assume if you need pain medicine that you are just a pill head whose faking it.

It's always full because you have no other alternative unless you want to drive 30+ minutes.
My mother sat in their ER for almost an hour with stroke symptoms. So much for triage.
And yes, Dr Lyons is a great doctor. So is Dobner. Too bad they only do bone work. Both are ex-military docs and very efficient and to-the-point.
