Bottom line is. He had worked on the machine before. He was new and had been told not to stick his and in there. There was a label right above it that said not to stick hands up there. He was too high on pills to read.

And you know this for a fact? You received the toxicology report? You must be very important for someone to share that information with you. I'm just telling people what I was told by the person that knows exactly what happened.

If they are telling that he did not pass the drug test I would think that would be in violation of the privacy act. I have talked to numerous people who have worked there and they all say they tell people to do things that are not safe.

Give me your email and I will send you a copy and a picture of the machine with the warning label right about the centrifuge that took his hand.

Good for you Bernard, Jessica and Kaelin for speaking the truth and showing compassion for your fellow man. Shame on all of you who would suggest that anyone deserved to have such a tragic thing happen. No one does, reguardless of the situation or circumstances. A company should never use a machine that someone can stick there hand in PERIOD! Jessica is right, do your research not only in TN, but here as well....word on the street is that another employee was severly injured a few weeks ago at the same company in almost the exact same way. SHAME on those who judge others and SHAME on that company for not looking after the very people that make them money!

To the person who say they know for sure because they work there, unless you are in management you should not know for sure because that information is private and should not be shared with everyone. So I would say either you are in management or they are giving out information that is private.

You have to be retarded! There are billions of machines out there that one can get hurt on if they are not used correctly. A steak knife is a tool that will take your finger off if you are high and not paying attention. I do work on the inside and I do know all the facts. I will tell you a employee was killed in TN when the company was called Mountain Valley. It was a mistake by both the company and the employee. This however was nothing but the operators fault. He could have even got a little money out of it if he didn't test positive for drugs in the hospital. He did not deserve to get hurt by no means but he asked for it. It says right on the bottle of the drug he was take not to drive or operate machinery. I guess he didn't understand that being that he got his drugs from a dealer out of a plastic bag. Facts are facts and if you want to test me give me your email. I will send you the facts. Also, have you heard of any lawsuit? I think not because he has no case and the only wrong doing was his own.

Jessica is right folks, please do some homework on the company before you defend it to the extent I see some doing on here. This company is very shady and Morristown, TN was actually better off with them moving on to a different location. Alot of safety issues and Anil Shah the VP of operations along with Ron Whaley the President of operations are about as shady as they come. They have a history of working together in other companies so you folks need to watch your back and be concerned about your safety while working. I was in management so I do know a little about a lot where this company is concerned. A few bucks isn't worth losing life or limb, so be safe and refuse to do anything you are uncomfortable with call OSHA if necessary. Best of luck to all of you guys - be careful and safe.

I worked that machine the day he lost it and pleaded with the incoming supervisor to put someone with more training on it but he said he couldn't he needed them elswhere. There were no signs any where on the line that said not to put your hand in the dryer not till after it had happened.

A 10 cent sticker could have saved his hand that's how cheap this company is. Just like a 5 dollar padlock could have saved that boys life in Tennessee. Surprised Osha hasn't shut this place down yet.. how they haven't is beyond me.
