I was hoping that the B team would win. They have some really good players on there. I only stayed for the first game, should have stayed for that one!

B team shows some promise. If that group stays together may see a competitive WHHS team in years to come.

I watched the BMS/West Jessamine game today and BMS did look good. However, I do have to question why the BMS coach would call two timeouts in the final 14 seconds of the first half. At the time BMS was up 30-0 and it looked like the coach wanted to pile on the points. BMS did score a touchdown and two point conversion to take a 38-0 lead at half-time. I just thought it was a little tacky for the coach to run up the score.

I mean West Jessamine had all kinds of trouble trying to move the ball against the BMS defense and that didn't change in the second half.

Winning stops all the whining! Philosophy is, if you don't want the score ran up on you, do something about it. Don't think for one minute another team wouldn't do that to BMS, they did last week. Go Braves!!!

Agree, everyone want to jump on the coaching staff last year because we couldnt win, now you want to complain because we are winning by to big a margin! Some people will never be happy.

depends a lot on whose kid is getting to play. A team did show a lot of improvment and i dont think there was that much difference in the competition. I think they have put together a good coaching staff. Hawkins is a big plus!

I must've missed it, did you say critics and parents are the problem, if so you are correct. Now let the kids play the damn game and quit making it about you.

If the game was still in the first half.... that is not running the score up! to only have one 2nd have touchdown was classy! im sure they could have made it 80-0 easily!

I have to agree!!

I have been involved in every sport in Frankfort for the last 10 years. There is one thing that is common with all of them, soccer, baseball, t-ball, football and any other, Frankfort people live vicariously through their children and expect them to perform like they never could as atheletes. I don't know what it is, but the parents make sports no fun. There are very few parents that go out and support the TEAMS, its always about THEIR kid. There are always excuses why someone elses kid made theirs fail.

Face it people. It is a kid event. Your kid is most likely NOT going to be the next Manning, the next Babe Ruth or even get a partial scholarship at some third rate community college for their sporting efforts. When it is all said and done, your concern needs to be raising a good student, a good person and a productive member of society. Measure your child by taking him/her OFF the sporting team. Without sports, is your child a respected person? If so, great. If not, your priorities are wrong.

There is a reason they are called STUDENT ATHELETES...notice that STUDENT comes first.

My child is not the next NFL star. But he has never made below a B, is liked by his peers, doesn't get in trouble and is respectful to everyone. He doesn't blame his team for his failures on the field and strives to improve himself to make the team more successful. In my eyes, he is successful.

Well, since hindsight is 20/20, it is easy for you to judge. As your experience as a parent of an athelete progresses there are a few things you will learn.

1) You take time outs to stop the clock. Unless the ball goes out of bounds or a TD is scored, the clock keeps ticking. It's called strategy.

2) Some teams are second half teams. Watch UK basketball once and a while, you will see that is when they typically come alive. So, when you do not know, you get the points while you can. They could have easily come back and dominated BMS the second half.

And just one more question, if they had 38-0 at half and West Jessimine couldn't move the ball in the second half either, then why did they only score a single TD and two point conversion in the second half? Doesn't look like they were trying too hard to run the score up.

Seems to be they took the lead early, and laid back the second half and held them while they played with dignity NOT running up the score. If all you said was true, they should have gotten at least 3-4 TDs the second half.

How do they find these coaches? Who hires or selects coaches for the middle school and highschool sports? Is there some kind of selection process or is it all about who you know?
