Johnny Patterson, Taressa Woolums indicted

From the State Journal, Oct. 6:

Also indicted Wednesday were Johnny Patterson, 40, and Taressa Woolums, 45, of 219 E. Todd St., for theft by deception of $25,605 from the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services.

Woolums, a former state employee, submitted false invoices to the health and family services department requesting money be paid to an address owned by Patterson, Cleveland says.

An investigation “revealed she had a photocopy of the signature of the person who was supposed to sign them (the invoices) to authorize them to be paid,” Cleveland said.

She allegedly used the photocopied signature to make it appear they had been approved for payment and left the invoices on the desk of the person who would view and approve them, Cleveland said.

Woolums was able to access the building by piggy backing into the building when another employer entered, Cleveland says.

Twenty-two checks with Mr. Patterson’s signature and driver’s license numbers endorsed on them were recovered through the investigation, Cleveland said.

They are both con artists. I know them both. He is an alcoholic, has a gambling addiction, and couldn't tell the truth if his life depended on it. She is a loud mouth common thief that knows it all and can't tell the true either. Scarey that she was a paralegal. Patterson ripped off both high schools, various "friends", and family. Woolums got ran out of Owen County for the same thing she is being charged with.

"absolutely" is right! If JP's lips are moving, he is lying. He's very charming and you want to believe him but he will swindle you out of anything you have that he might need...which is usually something he can sell or pawn for money! He moved to Frankfort because he was in trouble for theft in Lexington, so it goes back a lot of years. i feel sorry for the prisoners he will share space with because he will cheat them out of anything they earn...Put them UNDER the jail...they stole from ALL OF US this time!

I did not know that to be Woolums character, but I did know JP has been in trouble many times before, which made it extremely difficult to understand why the Local High Schools would allow him any where near the baseball fields and around the youth. I thought there were measures in place to keep convicted felons out of high school sports.

I used to be very close to Johnny. He's a lying, cheating, gambling, alcohol abusing, son of a bitch. He'll use ANYONE, including his close family and friends, to get what he wants. He has hurt so many people throughout his pathetic life. Has he stopped to even think what he has lost? His son, his wife, his best friends.. I don't see how he sleeps at night. And Teressa, she's just a loud mouth bitch. Has she thought of who all she is hurting with this? Her children just lost their father not to long ago and now their mother is going to be rotting in jail.. Both of them are idiots and it's a disgrace to be even from the same town as them.

I used to be very close to Teressa and know both of them also. And I think Teressa just fell on very bad times since her husband died. Hopefully she will wise up and get things back on track and if anyone is still her true friend maybe you can help her. Must really be lonely where she is now. People are so eager to trash others when the going gets rough.

First of all it's amazing to me how some of the comments on this page reflected what coach Patterson did I will say this I know he has made his mistakes and I know everyone makes mistakes I also know if it wasn't for him so many of us would have never made it to play college baseball for all of you who have posted on this what true difference have U made in the world. Probably not many well coach patterson has made many differences in many young mend lives including mine. I am now a manger of a corperation and when I wanted to come home after 5 days of college it was coach p who talked me into staying. For taressa how many of you have lost a spouse and had 3 kids and had your wages garnished for bills. What would u do to provide for you kids well I'm sure most of you would take the high road and say well I wouldn't do this or I wouldn't do that. You never know what you would do... never know what you would feel but most of you take time to take shots at people when they are down and then walk into church on Sunday and claim your a Christian. Thankyou so much coach for all the time you spent to make me the player I was and help me be the man I am today. And there always be people who will bring all the negative in the world and I will just say thankyou lord for putting you in mine and many other players in the world

I will not get in hateful words with you all I can say is he was the best coach I ever played for and during a time in my life when I was gambeling he took time to speak to me of what he had went through and is still fighting so just for me he helped my life in so many ways. Also you may want to read the small articles in the paper that explained more of this situation and not speak not knowing because if you read and know what has happened you would not say he needs a lawyer but if it helps your heart clear up there is plenty of room on the bashing scene.

Also forgot to tell you I didn't play at county so you bashing their coaching staff means nothing to myself. Taressa was shacked up with johnny while her HUSBAND was lying in a nursing home. She only had one child at home, in college, the other 2 are adults. She was making $50,000 at her state job, much much more than the average person makes at any job, but her lying and stealing ways caught up with her there. No sympathy for her.
