Anyone know who it was?

A man was shot and killed Friday night by state troopers after police say he pointed a gun at them.

The shooting happened after Kentucky State Police responded to a domestic violence call around 10 p.m. in the 1700 block of Galbraith Road, Trooper Ron Turley told The State Journal.

Upon arrival, troopers found an injured woman in the driveway and a man with a handgun inside.

“They tried numerous times to try and get him to put the gun down,” Turley said this morning.“He eventually pointed the gun at the troopers and he was shot.”

The man was taken to Frankfort Regional Medical Center, where he died from a gunshot wound, Turley said.

Turley said “multiple shots” were fired.

“How many times he was struck, we don’t know,” Turley said.“An autopsy is being done today.”

Turley said more information will be released pending the results of the autopsy.

The woman was also taken to the hospital for her injuries. Turley said one of her eyes was swollen shut.

remember that what you are reading is one side of the story & police will of course tell it different to justify their shooting. Something wrong with the tale of him being inside & them outside but yet they manage to riddle his body with bullets. There is more to it & I hope that they were witnesses other than the woman & police. Where did this man work at.

Not starting nothing. Do you actually believe what you read from the newspapers? Do you believe what a police chief says? They are always three sides to a story & what do you think a police chief will say right after a shooting? Of course they will back up their troopers. Wait till you get both sides & then come up with the real answer wich will be something in between of the two.

If you are stupid enough to point a gun at officers you have to know they WILL shoot you. They are protecting themselves. And the cops likely went INTO the house to confront him after seeing/speaking with the victim in the driveway; OR he was in the doorway of the home- which would place him inside, but in full view of, the responding officers.

My thoughts are with his family. I think I knew him and his mother retired from the State Police. Bless his daughter and give them the peace they need at this time.

Police chief? The KSP doesnt have a chief. You appear to be someone who would find fault with the police no matter what the circumstance. What would you do in a similar situation if someone pointed a gun at you? I am certain you have all the answers

So what there saying he pointed a gun well if he pointed it at A cop then why would more than one shoot sounds like over kill to me cause no way the gun was pointed at more than one person so something needs to be done about several cops shooting at 1 gun bill crap!!

sounds like he worked at being a dirtbag:

Turley said Demaree had active warrants for assault and burglary.

Trooper Ron Turley told The State Journal that troopers ordered Demaree numerous times to put the gun down and that the man was shot multiple times.

oh I see.... So the cops are supposed to wait when someone raises a handgun in their direction and make sure they know which cop he is pointing at... Then the cop that has the gun aimed at him is supposed to shoot... Right?

I guess he is because if the law states that if he points it at a cop then he can shoot I mean come if someone points a gun at me and 5 of us shoot him 4 of us is going to jail over kill is over kill

no disrespect but my point is.... If I'm standing with 5 other guys with guns and a guy is in front of me being hostile and even raises a gun... I'm not going to wait to see who he is going to aim at.. I will deal with whatever comes but at least I'm alive.
