It is really smart to do your homework on nursing homes as it is to do it on daycares. If you love your elderly or infirm, check them all out and check with the division of licensing for complaints and violations.

If someone suspects the abuse or neglect of the elderly, report it. You don't just have to call the police or the state, you can get in touch with the omnibusman or representative for the elderly. I don't remember the council's name, but any state or local agency can get you the number.

I would hate to have to put anyone in one. They all suck. And it's called an ombudsman, Gina.

While "Morning Pointe" is not classified as a nursing home (it is an assisted living community) I must agree with most of your assessment, David.

My mother resided at MP for a time and enjoyed her stay until Thanksgiving week of 2008. An employee entered her apt. and removed a visa card from her purse and had a great night out on the town; liquor, Cattleman's, The Brick Alley and free gas. The employee then returned the visa card before staff arrived the next morning. Sad, is it not?

I hope you all prosecuted. It really riles me when people take advantage of others, especially the elderly.

That sucks. Hopefully, this person will never have access to anyone else's identity. This is identity theft in my book.

The one thing I would like to point out to all families who have loved ones in a nursing home; If you can't be there at critical times of the day, the most important one-mealtime. If your parent doesn't have the ability to feed himself, the aides who are on duty will not take the time to feed him or her. Many a patient has succumb to the horrible death of malnourishment.
Most of the non-degree employees who are working there are uneducated and working there because they can't find work elsewhere.
There are some exceptions, there are a few caring aides who will go the extra mile to care for your parent, child, or siblings!

There is a lot goes on at mp.The people that work there steal stuff all the time. One man pays the gals that work there to do special things for him And they know what i mean. They need to be turned in to state board. This is sick taking advantage of old people. This all started when they brought head nurse in.I sure would not want my parents there.

Theft and abuse by some employees in nursing homes is rampant. Some of the employers turn the reports to a deaf ear, because of the scarcity in finding employees who will work for minimum wage! There are a few caring aides in nursing homes, the major issue, these caring workers cant be there twenty-four hrs. a day! Every parent or child, should investigate a nursing home thouroughly before admitting the patient!

This place is Horrid for a place that looks so nice. My aunt was in there for a while and there were times i went to go see her and she had a pull-up so full that when she stood up it fell off. there was one time i got there and she was in the bathroom trying to change her own pull-up because she had a bowel movement. this is not my aunts job when she uses a walker to change herself, it is the aide's responsibility.

Bradfordsquare is one of the worst nursing homes in frankfort as of when the new company took over. And as for social services? Well that is just a joke, I dont know about everyone but i dont care about being around people who think they are better than you, and i am sure not going to express my concerns to anyone like that.
