Getting replacement windows installed from either Lowes or WindowWord ($189 guys). Any opinions in which is better? Good it bad?

Window World jacks the price WAY up from $189 unless you get a particular size and they must be white. They also have to be a particular design. They also want to change a bunch of things around to jack the price up. Go with Lowe's. Good windows - good price.

I was thinking about window world myself. How much is Lowes windows? I don't really care if there white or black just need new windows really bad and not much money to spare. What does Lowe's charge?

I had my windows installed by the group off Hahn drive and they did a great job and did not jack the price up. I would recommend getting the windows there and having that group install them as well.

Hello is right. I bought my windows from them and didn't go with the "standard". I got almond windows rather than white. I got grids rather than having plain glass. All of my front windows slide side to side instead of up and down. My living room window is very large and has two sliders. All of those things cost more.

HOWEVER, I am completely satisfied with them. The workers came in and installed 10 windows in a day and hauled off the old windows without charging extra. Ten windows cost $3,400.

Good luck!
I have bought both

There is NO comparison. Lifetime warranty that they really honor at Windows World. I called them out last year to fix a 10-year old window, and they gave me no trouble. Try that with Lowes! Lowes sucks. They hate to honor warranties.

Not to mention, the windows I bought were rebranded Alside. Pretty good windows for the price. It's true that if you want gas in the window, low-e, the grids, etc, that you will have to pay extra, but the $189 price is legit if all you want is a basic window. I bought 52" windows throughout my house for about $250 each with low-e and argon gas inside (no panes).

The Lowes picture window I have in my living room has a bunch of condensation--you can't even see through it.

I would go with the 189 folks.

there is a reason window world installs over 1,000,000 windows per year and has the good housekeeping brianer

window world does stand behind their product. They did our house and two rental properties and have been johnny on the spot to fix problems at no charge. One window had a leak which caused condensation, and two windows had bad latches. Can't say about Lowes, but Home Depot is awful to deal with, and Champion is way overpriced.

Thanks for the information. I think window replacement washington dc is about finding a company you like working with and a right price for you. Perhaps you feel comfortable installing yourself, or you prefer to hire a professional. Either way, choose the right decision for your budget and preference. Thanks again!

Lowes is terrible. Their windows fog up after years and they won't replace them. Go for Windows World for sure.

I had a good Lowe's sales rep who really cared about our project. I got 22 windows from Lowes. We went with the United 800 series and they came out great. Our heating and cooling cost have gone down and the windows look amazing. We spent over 10k but the salesman was really great...he was in contact with us and even sent a thank you card. Lowes is the way to go!!!! Thanks Jeff

Lowes is unreliable. They can't even keep track of the material that is being ordered. They are not neat or conscientious about the installation process and they don't have all the pieces because their ordering is flawed and inadequate.

I just had Window World install 4 windows in my home. They weren't $189, but I thought they were reasonable. The installers did a nice job. Also, I just had a storm door installed by one of the Lowes installers. He also did a nice job.
