Is by far the absolute worst hospital that i have ever had the experience of visiting, and this opinion wasn't made over one visit or few visits but over 15 year period. They have the worst staff, their services aren't up to par, they do not care what type of situation you're in, the doctors seems as though they're stuck in an hell hole for short period of time because none of them actually stay there longer then a year, their specialists aren't much of specialists or perhaps they don't care as much, they can't take x-rays properly, they RN's cant even stick you with an IV properly most of the time, regardless of how much pain you're in all they are worried about is getting your insurance info first even if they received it few days prior,I would suggest to either drive to Lexington or Louisville if you can do it so you can actually receive 1000% better care then any of these idiots here in frankfort.

I would agree. I have a son that was born premature. He has been in and out of UK since he arrived. We live very close to Frankfort Regional. And there have been many times that he was having such a hard time with his breathing we HAD to take him to the Frankfort Hospital to have him stabilized. When you enter the ER they give you a form to complete... well when your son is breathing 90 breathes a minute at 3 months the last is completing a form. I had to argue when them many times to get him back to the ER and get some Oxygen on him. Then when they would decide he needed to stay all night i refused to allow him to stay there. They brought an ambulance and had him transported to UK. The doctors the 1st time he was extremely sick they sent him home because "baby got good suction" 2 days later we were at UK ER with him and he had turned BLUE. I bypass frankfort if at all possible...

I am so sorry you had to go through that, it sounds so awful, there needs to be a boycott for this stupid hospital, but i know that isn't practical since most people can't afford to take that ride to lex or louisville. but there needs to be some sort of reform here because these people really are the worst of the worst in healthcare.

When your son was admitted did the pediatricians here attend to his care? If so, that explains it all. I have not had a very good experience with the pediatricians here myself. And I'm not talking about a simple disagreement. When my child was sick I had to ask for a referral to UK and the doctors there figured out what was wrong with him that night. Needless to say he was admitted to the hospital where he ultimatley stayed until he passed two months later. We also had to deal with the hospital here while going through all of this. They did an upper GI appoximately a week or two before he went to UK and said it only showed slow digestion. When my son was admitted to Uk he was not eating and had begun to lose weight, which is not normal for a 5 month old baby. UK did an upper GI and found that he had acid reflux so bad that it had started burning the lining in his esophagus and that's why he wasn't eating. Needless to say, I don't or won't deal with these idiots around here. And I'm not slandering anyone here. This is the truth.

Yes they are. If my son is sick and isnt to the point of needing oxygen we take him to UK our selves. They know what they are doing. Before I had my son I had a miscarriage. When I concieved my son I had a placental abruption. I wasnt aware this is what it was. I was sure I was losing him as well. I go into the ER balling crying.. I was losing yet another baby. I wanted to get in with a doctor and them just tell me yes that is what it was. As they were taking my info with the nurse she looked at me and said "even if it is a miscarriage they cant do anything" (very hateful) Like she was just digusted I was even there. So I quickly fired back at her pissed off. I told YES i know there is nothing that can be done. But I needed to hear that from a doctor not her. I did call back after my ER visit and complain on her for being so rude. Have a heart when someone comes in upset. Dont be a rude *itch about it.

I'm truly sorry to hear some of these things but honestly it does not surprise me whatsoever, these idiots forgot the 'care' part in healthcare and there really should be a boycott of this hostpital.

I work at Frankfort regional. And I am very sorry you all have had those experiences. Some of our staff is still like that, but fortunately enough, we have cleaned house and have upgraded our resources. Also, what you have to remember, Is that which each hospital, you will have an experience like that. As staff members, alot of us could decide which nurse, surgeon, and doctor we would want. But in an all about way, our hospital and staff as a whole has improved. (Thankgod).

We almost lost our son to a severe asthma attack two years ago that had been misdiagnosed THREE times by our health care provider. If it hadn't been for the wonderful and professional care he received at FRMC, he would have died. The ER staff were wonderful and the floor and respiratory staff were, too. They saved my son from death.

I'm sorry if others haven't had the wonderful care that my son had, but I've seen how some patients' families treat the staff, and I'm appalled that anybody would treat the people treating your ill and injured like that. It is the same as ticking off your server in a restaurant, you get the service your behavior demands. Those who have just had a bad experience while treating the staff decently, I'm sorry for the care of lack of that you received.

This hospital hasn't changed much in the 13 years since my experience. By that, I mean the quality of care. The hospital has changed as far as equipment advancement, etc. They also need to change some of the so-called professionals that are there "guessing" what is wrong with people. My son has asthma and was "treated" there; needless to say, he was back again two days later. When I was firm with the new doctor and made it known that I was not satisfied with the care he received, we were taken care of. I should not have to address these things with the so called professionals. I'm not sure how they "cleaned house", but it seems there is still some cleaning that needs to be done.

I'm glad that your son came away from there doing fine. I will admit that I have been rude to the doctors and nurses there, but you will not treat me as though I am nothing. I have lost a child, therefore I do not take life for granted. Everything pertaining to my children is serious to me. Perhaps I keep getting the same fools each time, but it's ridiculous how they accept their low standards there. Half the time, I don't feel they are capable of putting a Band=aid on my finger for a paper cut. This hospital is a joke and it sucks that this is the quality of service we have in this community.

in 2000 my grandfather was hit by an ablulance at spagetti junction; after this horrible accident he was taken to fRMC; there FRMC inserted breathing tubed WRONG 3 times, gave him astma medicene bc he said he couldnt breathe, and ignored him bc they were too concerned about the amblulance drivers who walked away with bruises.
the actual autopsy said my grandfathers rib entered the main artery of his heart, which is why he couldnt breathe (broken ribs) and the asthma mediece they have him thins your blood, which is why he bleed out; i will NEVER go there except to have a baby; there babyward is really good

You are so right. I use to work there and I know that you all blame the staff being stupid or worthless, I hate to hear about the things that have happened, but to say that ALL are bad I doubt that you visited every floor in this place. I loved my job but when ur charge Nurse gives you 17 pts a piece and 10 pts to nurses. Thats not safe, its not our fault, its the states fault for letting it happen. So blame who u want but dont blame all caregivers. I might be the one who gives u cpr one day and save your life!!! So be careful on who you judge when you throw the all word out there!!!

When I was pregnant I became extremely dehydrated and had to go there. They were placing an IV in my hand, at the time I had family around to talk to and distract me from it but after a while my hand began to hurt really badly. I look over and it was pouring blood and was swollen up. I asked what the hell happened because I've had IVs before and that has never occurred. The nurse explained that she blew my vein and it didn't make me feel any better when she said, "Oh, I'm just tired."

One of the problems with FRMC is that the doctors are more worried about screwing the nurses instead of providing actual medical care.
The worst of which is Dr Christopher Stark. He is an incompetent physician and has banged practically the entire nursing staff. Karen Thurman, Angel Kennedy, Bethany Angel, Bethany Petrey. The list goes on and on. Those are just the ones that are for certain. It's not enough that some of them are married. It's completely unethical. In fact. That's a good way to describe him. Completely unethical as well as an arrogant prick.
