The local DA decided not to prosecute because the state had no evidence. The only reason he was overruled was because the Democrats thought they could help themselves in Florida by stirring up racial tension. NBC did the same by doctoring the 911 audio tape to make it seem like Zimmerman followed Martin because he was black. Even Obama got in on the act saying that if he had a son, he would look like Trayvon. It was all about inciting racial tension to help the Democrats in 2012. Nothing more. Now, we all get to watch the blacks burn down half of Florida and our cities across the country when he is acquitted. Way to go Obama and the Democrats!

None.
Like it or not, the state has to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. And the prosecution hasn't even come close to that.

If Zimmerman is "innocent" as some of you say, please explain this to me. If Trayvon was really punching Mr. Zimmerman (who was bleeding all over his face) repeatedly in the face...then where did Zimmermans DNA go that would have been on Trayvons hands, or the cuffs of his hoody? Last time I checked DNA doesn't just go walking off. DNA doesn't lie.
Did you hear where Zimmerman was referring to Trayvon as a "suspect"? I would understand if he was a former cop, but no average person would refer to someone else as a "suspect." He wanted to be a cop so bad. In his eyes he was just getting one of the bad boys out of the street like cops do.

I agree that his friend he was talking to on the, Rachel Jeantel was not the brightest crayon in the box, she may have even twisted the story a little bit. My point is there is a dead child out here that did not shoot himself and justice needs to be served.

Hey, you must not have read my comment. I asked you what EVIDENCE in the trial led you to believe Zimmerman should be convicted.

TM WAS NOT A CHILD he got what he deserved...and if the blacks don't like the NOT GUILTY verdict the first one who riots should also be shot or let them leave and go back to Africa... the riots are just an excuse for stealing...did you also hear he wanted to be a lawyer? at some point in your life you wanted to be something besides an ass

You have no idea what "justice" is in this case, because you weren't there. You don't know if Martin decided to attack Zimmerman, as Zimmerman claims. You just have you pre-conceived prejudices. Was Zimmerman a cop wanna-be? Maybe. Doesn't make him guilty, except in the eyes of people like you, who think with their hearts rather than their brains.

As to DNA, hitting someone wouldn't necessarily leave behind DNA. Zimmerman's injuries were primarily to the back of his head, where he alleges he was being slammed into the pavement.

A young man is dead, yes. And not one person except Zimmerman knows exactly what happened. In this country, the outcome of trials is based on the evidence. Jury nullification, as in the OJ Simpson trial, is the only hope the prosecution has.

Zimmerman was in his car when he noticed Treyvon Martin walking down the sidewalk. The fact that he got out of his car and approached Treyvon after he was told not to approach by the 911 operator tells me that he wanted to murder him. Zimmerman just wanted to kill him just because. I find him GUILTY. I am the type of person that blacks get what they deserve. I hate 99% of the blacks. To me, Treyvon was an innocent person at the wrong place at the wrong time.

There's enough blame here to go around. Zimmerman set the events in motion that led to Martin's death by using bad judgement, but Martin probably isn't the innocent that the prosecution is making him out to be.
Zimmerman should have never gotten out of his car to follow Martin, but if Martin instigated the physical violence then he is the one who caused his own death as far is the law is concerned. You simply don't ever have a right to institute physical violence against someone until they either attack you first or make a credible threat of eminent physical violence.
Did Martin throw the first punch? Here's the thing: we simply will never know. For that reason no credible jury can say he is guilty of murder beyond a reasonable doubt. They might convict him of reckless homicide because ignoring the police dispatcher and following Martin could maybe meet the standard of a reckless act that lead to his death.

If Martin was an older black man, would there be as much controversy? Or is it mainly because he is younger and "cut down in his prime"?
