He pissed off the women by being an adulterer. He pissed off the church goers by taking communion with his mistress. He pissed off the tax payers by spending more money than any sheriff in our county's history. He pissed off the minorities by making the video depicting african americans as thugs. The only potential voters he has left are white men, and they all vote republican.
Just can't see how he can recover from these screw ups between now and the next election.

I do hope you're right... hopefully he won't be reelected.. you're wrong on one point though. Frankfort is predominately democrat, that's the only thing going for him. To get anywhere in office in Frankfort the first step is to run on the democratic ticket.....

I wonder how many posts we'll get before the assclow man makes his comment, he's such a fucking douche

I was informed last night that Kyle Thompson was considering running against Ted Collins for County Judge. I am amazed that you can be a County Judge with a high school education (Ted). I guess it's like comparing Uk to it's little brother Louisville is like comparing Frankfort City Government to Franklin County Government. Good move for Kyle. The question came up how that would affect Sheriff Meltons overspending of taxpayers money since he dates Kyles Sister. County Judge Ted Collins, Magistrates Kring, Wells, Sturgeon, Moore, Perkins and Robinson have to approve his budget. They apparently see no problem with the squandering of tax payers money in these difficult economic times. Truth is, it won't matter, because Pat won't be re-elected.

I didn't vote for Kyle Thompson for mayor for one reason only: HE IS AFFLIATED WITH PAT MELTON. Their relationship or what have you (the sister's involvement wit Melton) was my only reason. That's too close for comfort for me when we, the citizens of Franklin County wish to get rid of Melton. If we succeed in ridding this county of Melton we don't need Melton's influence in any aspect any longer. I will never cast my vote for Thompson because of that. I will vote against my designated party again if need be. Any government officials running for office in the future should be concerned with who they affiliate themselves with as it could ruin their chances of being elected or being re-elected.

Sorry, but Kyle T would have less chance against Ted than he did Bill May. Surely, he knows that.

It is impossible for Melton to "overspend" his busget. How can you spend money you do not have? He is nt like the feds and can print money. He has no "borrowing " authority in the Ky Constitution. He cannot run a deficit.

But if you want to go back to when Clark and Collins were Sheriff and no one was arrested, drugs flowed like the wind blows, crimes weren't investigated, and the Sheriff did nothing, then vote Melton out of office.

But if you want to continue to see criminals arrested, drug dealers put away for 8, 10, 20 years then keep him in office. Pat is overweight, so it allows him to kick criminals ass, PAt has a girlfriend, so what, has nothing to do with him busting criminals,(he and his soon to be ex have been separated over one year)

You are so concerned with what Melton might do but not concerned with what the City police Chief did by not charging a co-worker for admitted theft, or a jailer who is being sued?

Both of these are facts, yet you are not concerned. Its just Melton

This proved you have an absolute bone to pick with Sheriff Melton, regardless of what he has done or will do. Its just Melton

Three or four people constantly post things on Topix about Sheriff Melton but nothing about the real wrongs that are being done to the taxpayers. You hate Melton for whatever reason, not having any concern about the taxpayers or their money. Its just Melton

You're absolutely right, it is just Melton. I don't agree with the way he, nor his deputies operate. People glorify him for arresting drug dealers, but fail to mention the FACT that a lot of the cases aren't good because of the way they operate. No, I do not want one criminal who is supposed to have the public's interest in mind, apprehending and arresting other criminals. That's hypocritical to me. I would rather have someone in office who doesn't blatantly break laws to catch criminals. I would rather have someone in office who takes pride in their job/career and serves the public with dignity and pride. I would rather have someone in office who doesn't run to the media at every opportunity to boost their own ego. It's no longer about hey look, this office has done another great thing and served the public as I should, but rather a pat on his own back. No, I don't want an egotistical, law breaking to apprehend lawbreakers, scandalous person in office. I would rather have a humble, prideful, decent person in office. Sorry, he doesn't fit that mold as I thought he would when I voted for him.

As for the police chief, I don't recall one election since I was able to exercise my RIGHT to vote that I've voted for a police chief. At this point, I would take what you described over Melton's behavior any day. It's kind of like choosing between the lesser of two evils and well, Melton won't get my vote this time.

Well I for one am republican and will vote for Pat Melton to be reelected as sheriff. I appreciate the job he and his staff has done along with the city police getting rid of the thugs and drug trafficers. So I willing to bet the one that started this thread and those that agree with him or her are all probably crack head thugs that he has busted or know they are getting ready to get busted or are you one of those on the sheriff's most wanted photo classifieds on cable 27. I hope he gets your a@@ it has been nice not having the drug traffic in my neighborhood anymore

Derek Napier is going to run again and hopefully this time the voters will vote the right person in this time. People didn't listen before when warned that Melton was a liar, cheater, ego driven Ted Collins flunky. He was voted in because he fooled voters into to believing he was this God fearing God loving purpose driven family man and because of his friendship with Ted and the Democratic party. Now even Ted can't tolerate his behavior and his over spending. The only ones that seem to hope Pat gets re-elected are the deputies he brought in and gave the cushy jobs (Craig) & positions to that give them access to drugs (Matt) and the media attention. As for all the drug busts his office has made, how many are just released & back out dealing within days? How many actually do time? Btw..I am registered Democrat

Thats right! Franklin county is heavily Democratic. Even at that, Derrick Napier(a new out of nowhere Republican) Got a HUGE, HUGE amount of votes. Two reasons why Pat won & the first is they were too many on the ticket & spread the votes & the second was the Democratic ticket that Pat aligned himself with. The difference now is, Pat has BURNED BRIDGES with some of the coats that he was clinging on & Pat has Burned bridges with other law agencies. His EGO drives him & his fifth grade followers on his facebook pages that thinks locking up people who are in contempt, really protects them. The drugs were always here! Nothing new there, Pat just exposed it & fought it illegally. Thats a big reason most get off with very little punishment.
Pat thought he was high up after elected & got too arrogant with the coattails........If Derrick were to run again & it was just him & Pat, Sheriff Derrick will be the new man. Pat will try to get his cronies to run again to spread out the votes but the General election will bruise him!

You are correct Pat will not be re-elected and neither will Derrick Napier. If a Republican runs Democrats in the county will elect the Democrat into office. All if this does not matter, A new Democrat will run for office and close friends already know who he is and he will run away with the race.

I hope we are thinking of the same person thinking of running on the democratic ticket. He is a wonderful person, husband, father and friend INSIDE and OUT! No badge, title or anything can change this man. He is genuine!

I would vote for Steve Clark again. At least he ran the office with dignity, and didn't have deputies or so called "detectives" out running wild breaking the law.

You guys are hilarious. Trying your damndest to get Melton out of office before he works his way through the druggie list and finally gets to you.
Stop breaking the damn law and you won't have to care who the sheriff is.

I think it's hilarious how such influential people, the ones who hang out on Topix and can't spell or form a logical sentence, are going to personally see to Pat Melton not getting re-elected. Tons of big wigs around here!

Former warden Buddy Howard thought he had the backers due to his popularity & got blistered in the election. Don't think just because a person is popular that they will run away with it...can you give initials of this wonder fella
