Recently overheard a conversation from bank loan officer that more people are paying off their loans and no one borrowing which makes it a little rough keeping the doors open. Make more loans they say too all officers. Perhaps giving money away to Ivy Tech and catering to the Mexican community has finally caught up with them.

You obviously have no clue about how banks work. They do more than "loan" money to keep their doors open.

Investing in local education is a great way to get a "long term" return on that investment.

But obviously, we aren't as smart as you are. Or that loan officer if that is indeed the conversation that he or she had with someone.

Based on the fact you provide that loans are being paid off quickly, that would be a good thing regarding a Fed Stress Test.

What could make it difficult to keep the doors open, would be a lack of people being able to meet lending standards - like the failure of the people who were not able to get financing to purchase the Creekside property. What a missed opportunity for that family to make a quick flip to the city for a big pay day.

Would be interesting to know if the Chamber has paid off its loan to the Farmers Bank as a result of the failed Alive on 65.

By the way, there were already billboards up on 65 at this time last year promoting the event, but haven't heard a peep out the Tiger Man this year.

This old news really. The bank got screwed over by Defords when they swindled $ and left town. Then yet again by Ray Rudd doing the same thing. But both I'm sure are doing well down south in Florida.

With respect to Rudd, the Bank made out whole with Dean's screwing of the Frankfort taxpayers with the purchase of the property at Sheriff's Sale for the entire back amount. Plus, the Frankfort taxpayers paid the back taxes on the property.

Really, DeFord? Going to bring that up, now?!?! The Framers Bank has opened branches in other parts of Central Indiana = Noblesville/Fishers to be the latest.

To answer you question/statement would take considerable time. Yes, banks are going to be letting many employees go. Why? Because loans are difficult to get, even though banks have HUGE sums of money to lend. Plus, banks don't need savers money OR CUSTOMERS anymore because of the cash overload. Banks don't write CD's of value anymore because of the above. Take your money to a credit union and forget about the banks and Ben B. they don't care about you. Someday, the banks will need customers again and money, BUT THE CREDIT UNIONS WILL HAVE IT ALL LOCKED UP!!! Ha, Ha, Ha, bank trash, YOU LOSE!!!

I wouldn't put a penny in this bank. They are as corrupt as the people that run this town. No privacy and only taking care of the crooks in the community, go ahead, close it down and lock the doors. Just another empty building in the downtown area. They would NOT be missed!!

Maybe if they close the doors at the bank, the Mayor and his city council followers can invest in possibly FRANKFORT UNIVERSITY. That would be cool....

No privacy for sure. One the "higher ups" is best friends with my husband's ex. Some of our personal financial info has leaked out. I have been concerned about keeping accounts open there, but my husband likes the bank- otherwise I'd be out of there. This person has no business looking in our account nor driving past our house with my husband's ex. Otherwise, I really like the bank.
