I have talked to several county employees and they have stated that it is getting to the point it is almost impossible to stay at the county. The past several years the county has taken and taken from their employees and it has taken a toll on all whom work for the county.
I know there will be several people that say it is ok and at least they have a job. The fact is these people are grossly underpaid and for years the reason to stay at the county was for the benefits. Now they have taken the majority of these away.
The biggest problem is that to become an elected offical is no more than a popularity contest. There are elected officals right now running offices that have no idea what they are doing. I am guessing if all the facts would come out Bert Weavers insurance deal would be a drop in the bucket.

All the facts DO need to come out over this deal. It's not the fact that the county employees now have a lesser insurance plan at an incredibly higher cost to them and to county residents than the alternative plan that was offered, it's the way the deal went down. The good ole boy system is still alive and well in Clinton Co. I'm so disappointed in these commissioners in whom I once had hope would make Clinton Co. a better place. At least Boyles gave it
his best shot and I thank him for that

Have ANY of you READ the new proposal fer the County Insurance? ANY of ya? This ol Guy Heard Boyles a spewin his mouth off on WILO this mornin so I made an appointment with Bert Weaver JEST ta see what all the HUB Bub Was About. Remember, This ol Guy is a COUNTY Taxpayer and this money is TAX monies that pay these premiums. YOUR tax monies IF ya live in the COUNTY. What you people are a saying is, it's gonna cost everbody MORE? Yes, the monthly premium is gonna be more. Not a LOT, But More. You know ANYTHING in this here USA that aint gone up in the last year? Look at yer Home owners Insurance? Look at GAS! Anyways, the DEAL is... What the employees have NOW is: They have a $6,000.00 deductable before they can EVEN go to the Emergency room OR Urgent Care. With the Proposed Plan it is a $5,000.00 total deductable BUT you pay $150.00 and can go to the ER or Urgent Care while yer continuin ta MEET that deductable. Now THINK..... Single moms with Kids??? Their gonna have ta Shell out $6,000.00 bucks afore they can take little Johnny or little Suzy to the ER fer a High Fever on sunday? Truthfully in THIS day and age and with OBAMA tryin ta start Obamacare and MOST businesses crackin down and throwin everbody ta PART time so they don't HAVE ta carry Insurance after January 1, 2014. Give this Bunch that worked on this Insurance thing a Break! It wasn't JEST Weaver ya know! There was SEVEN count em SEVEN people on the Board! Only TWO had ANY Background IN Insurance. ALL this ol guy is a sayin is ...... Like Old Paul Harvey used ta say...... "Now ya Know the Rest of the Story" and all it took was a drive to Frankfort and 10 minutes of time. It Didn't happen here on Topix

Although I will agree with you on most things you have mentioned in your post, I will have to disagree with one of your statements. I am not just saying the county employee or city employee but I will assure you on one thing, you state what isn't going to go up from last year. Well, I know raises seem to be one of those things that don't go up. In fact, I was talking to a Street Department worker and he had stated that like 5 out of 7 years he didn't get a raise. That seems to be the common thing in this county/city..

As far as insurance, the countys insurance plan is no different than mine.I have a family of six. It cost me $68.00 Bi weekly for medical alone that doesn't include dental vision or life. I have worked 16years at the same factory on 28W. What makes you all think you should have a better plan than me?? I wold LOVE to pay a lot less, Obamacare is making it worse on all of us, we have already been informed our premiums will increase for 2014 plan.

and we haven't had a wage increase in three years, but they say we might get one this year, but with insurance going up it probably won't even be enough to offset the increase.

My intelligence quotient is surely higher than that of an old, washed up county hick like yourself.

And I read 2-4 books a week on average, mostly works on history, foreign relations, and political analysis. Your 'reading' probably consists of People magazine and episodes of Duck Dynasty.

No No "Yep" You are totally correct! Raises are one thing that have NOT been touched! In about 7 years! I remember when Commissioner Conner gave that Stupid Bill clinton a $5,000.00 raise for who know WHAT and NO one in the county understood. The raise was questioned and people were basically told ta SHUT UP- He was doin a wonderful job. Yeah! But As This ol Guy stated The Premiums ARE a goin up as everything ELSE in the World seem ta be goin up. BUT from the copy of the proposal that I have here. Everything really looks like a better deal? The meetin was an open meetin all public information. I ain't nobody special. Jest someone that cares ta be informed. Rather than jest come in her and run my mouth like "jabby" on things I have really no CLUE about only if I read it in the TIMES blab or seen it talked about in here! Remember "jabby" you admitted yerself you go to VERY few metings as they are durin the day and your busy dynasty doesn't allow you the time.
