I heard that ffd was bringing in their own ambulances just to stick it to the county. Mike didn't have anything to do with it wtf.. you should go talk with BOWs....

FFD doesn't have the authority to make such a decision, nor do they want to operate an ambulance service.

Nice try.

No your right Jim Nabors but I believe the BOWs has that authority. I guess that means the FFD then has that authority beings one one of your fearless leaders is on the BOWs. Mike Connor has nothing to do with it.

This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of. You talk about egoes, Jim Osbon and his clan against the county, what a joke. Can't the FFD just let the ambulance go and do their own thing or are they affraid they will lose control?

It appears the BOW does have all the right in the world to contract with a private service to cover the incorporated limits of the City of Frankfort, but does the BOW realize what its in for? Private services serve on thing and thats themselves, KATS ambulance will not contract with Frankfort unless it will make money from doing so. The one thing that appears acctractive to KATS is revenue from end services such as convincing the people of Frankfort that the can only go to St Vincents Frankfort hospital, KATS will then double bill the patient. A trip to the hospital and the trip to transfer them out to Indy or otherwise. Private services operate on low overhead, and to achieve low overhead you buy old equipment, used ambulances that break down on a regular basis and hire employees at a cut throat pay. not to mention user fees that are higher. Currently all revenue that is brought in by user fees goes back to the general fund, private services pocket revenue and live off of it, never do they re-invest in YOUR community. BOW will take on a contract that will have to cover all Frankfort community events, ie Hot dog fest. 4th of July events, High School football games and emergency calls as well, all of which the current ambulances cover. There is a positive side to Frankfort going private. A decrease in call volume for the current system will result in a decrease in use of fuel, supplies, and many extra expenses used to cover the City of Frankfort. I dont live in Frankfort so I look at this as a opportunity to revive the County and suppoert our smaller communities that have been left out in the cold for so long. I wish Frankfort the best. Its a shame that such an important service to the community will be auctioned to the lowest bidder.

What should really be asked is WHY? Clinton County EMS will respond ambulances as they always have, just not with FFD personnel on them. If that service is already there, WHY contract with a private service. WHY??? Because there is now a personal vendetta against Cory and the county leaders. It's all about control and how some people can't deal with losing it.

Bringing in a private service means they want their money asap!!!People who do not have it are in trouble.

No, Conner has nothing to do with this. If I am not mistaken, he is the one who go EMT's in Frankfort which we needed.

You are mistaken Henritta. There have been EMTs at FFD since the 1970's. The county recently implemented a Paramedic/Advanced Life Support program, hiring paramedics and EMT drivers for each shift at FFD. However, this was started before Conner's time. Of course, being that it's Mike Conner we are talking about, he is taking credit for something he did not help create.

All Osbon is doing is wanting to get even with the county at the expense of the people of Frankfort . Kat's is a private ambulance company and as a private company they will have to make money . How much more will Kat's charge for a ambulance call in the city then CCEMS????? I am guessing alot more then the county charges thanks for sure . Wake up tax payers of Frankfort and ask your Mayor some questions , like why would i want to pay for a private company when my taxes are already paying for a ems service now ? Come on people look at the big picture and ask questions. I bet John O'brian just loves watching the Mayor and the BOW's cutting their own throats.

Mike Conner was a commissioner when I was hired, and I hired the first 6 paramedics. He can take credit for the addition of the paramedics.

I still want to know why the city is picking up the salaries and benefits of those two firefighter/emt/whatevers when the county offered to finish off paying them. What is their reasoning behind that? They have an opportunity to save a hundred+ grand and are throwing it away! Can someone fill me in or did I mishear?
