Why did the Times choose not to publish the 6 figure failure of Alive on 65? The publisher, as well as, various Chamber members received an electronic transcript (an e-mail) from Shan Sheridan indicating the loss. The Farmers Bank is carrying a loan for that bad decision.

The only thing Alive on 65, is them damn Pot Holes.

It's so easy to complain! Show us something more than cheap words. If our city so going so astray, offer up more than cheap lip service here on topix. So tired of hearing about tax dollars, you have a way of eliminating them!!!!!!! Not one IDEA do you bring other than to say how YOU think they are being spent so recklessly. It is truly a stupid argument you offer up. Say what's wrong and DO nothing but offer CHEAP words. COWARD, it is the only thing everyone believes people here are. The 25 yr. old mayor and all other leaders in this city have done something none of you COWARDS on here will do,GET INVOLVED!

I am not sure what you mean by getting involved!! Listen, I know several people would like to see Frankfort thrive but when decisions are being made to bring an IVY Tech to this community and roads are not being paved, houses that need torn down are not, open for business is touted however won't let a bar open downtown, wouldn't the average person think the leaders will do what they please? I sat and heard the United Way building can't be fixed up the way they want to because it doesn't fall in line with the way our leaders want it done. But yet Jill Snyder can fix her building the way she wants to, John Virtue can block the majority of the sidewalk with a fence. If two tires of a vehicle are on a sidewalk you will get a ticket or warned but good ol Virtue does what he wants. Several buildings, including the one the Mayor lives in could be fixed up but yet they don't

The Mayor touts all good things in the paper, all the grants and free money they get but can't publish what the Chamber lost. And yet again, they can pay two different people, Susan Nelson being one several thousand of dollars but yet roads are falling apart. The priorities are different than the average person. And you say get INVOLVED, for what? What are you as the average person going to change and will they listen, NO?

Don't read it if you don't like it!!! Pretty low to call a person retarded and compare to people that can't help how they are born.. But hey, I wouldn't expect anything less from supporters of this administration. Its quite obvious how low you people will stoop to. Amazing.

Mr. or Mrs. All for Nothing,

If you were to take the time and review not only this topix thread, but some others, you would see that many posters have offered opinions on what should be done and or tried to create not only a better town, but also a better community as a whole.

So either you haven't read them or simply choose to ignore them. Unlike Mr. or Mrs. Punjab, I don't profess to know what your mind is thinking so I won't offer rude comments nor put words on here that are not yours.

What I do believe, is many of the posters on here that offer up thoughts are not interested in keeping money in their own pockets, but instead want to see that money spent wisely. Voters and taxpayers should expect nothing less.

Taxpayers money funding 100 percent of a post high school education facility that currently draws several million dollars from the state (read our money) does not make any sense at all. Creating some sort of matching program would have been beneficial to Ivy Tech and the Community of Frankfort and Clinton County too.

But that wasn't to be. Why? That's a question that hundreds of taxpayers in Clinton County would like an honest answer to. Based on attending city and county meetings, along with listening to people like Vern Kasper, my opinion is that a few people want their name out there. If that is indeed the case, then it would be nice for them to simply say that. AGAIN, MY OPINION.

What makes better sense would be to spend the excess money that Mr. Pippinger left to repair alleys better, fix some road issues, cut back some trees that would make street signage viewable, and funnel more money to the removal of blight housing and other structures.

In addition, if people are interested in having their names or business names out there, perhaps they could donate 6 digit figures and have roads and parks redone and have those names attached accordingly.

I also think that the administration should quit doing business with businesses who have not lived up to the expectations of being owners of such businesses. You have back taxes, no city or county money will be spent with you. The mayor should be ashamed of living above a business that is behind on their property taxes. Lead by example. AGAIN, MY OPINION.

How's that for a start??? Most if not all of these things have been posted on here before, but perhaps you did not see them, I don't know...

Where, exactly, do you see hate?

Who, exactly, do you accuse of being hateful?

Why, exactly, are you against most of the posters on here offering their opinions on what is or isn't going on?

When, exactly, will you offer any sort of intelligent response to defend your position or at least cause others like myself to re-evaluate our positions based on logical and civil-like comments of yours?

What, exactly, is your position on the current administration's decisions? Please provide verifiable reasons because, as we all know, Mr. Punjab demands such things. Of course Nu Viewer, myself, and a couple of other "comment-ers" on here have done that very thing so lets keep the playing field level for both sides.

I, as well as others, anxiously await your logical, verifiable, and pleasant response.

Sooooo then This ol guy is a takin it YOU are about as much a moron as ol "jabby"? Read Post 541 - If ya don't wanna do THAT I'll quote part of yer fancy smancy Farnkfort Website that gives the INPUT on how a citizen can get INVOLVED: "Citizen voice is the driver behind City initiatives because done correctly, residents and visitors are the beneficiaries of municipal programs and services. Voices of the governed should and need to be heard. Those voices often are represented in the form of event volunteers, advisory board and committee members and citizen leaders." There's the three and COUNT them ONLY three ways ta get involved And it LOOKS like TWO of em MAYBE even all Three ya have ta be ASKED ta be a PART of??? No HATE involved here "all" Just mostly people wantin ta see Tax money spent Wisley and on More than ONE thing. Remember us people in the County are a part of some of the City spendin too IE: Ivy Tech = Millions and Airport = Nidec Property Millions that Alan Dunn promised a Federal GRANT fer that the City/County Did NOT get so the tax payers are on the hook for THAT 4.4 Million.
So hopefully you see NO hate just missuse of taxmoney and it comes out of YER pocket too! Unless ya rent!

I agree. I wish those unhappy with the current administration would just shut up and go quietly,so we can continue to pretend as if they don't exist. The mayor can do no wrong. People that are cynical of politicians should just suck it up. Let the politicians make their deals with your tax dollars with no questions asked. Questioning the motives of your elected officials is just downright...well..Anti-America n! Yes, "all for nothing",I'm on your side.

I only have one complaint about this brilliant wunderkind...There's no reason for him to pay a PR person $100,000+ for brilliantly written fluff pieces when there are others willing to do it for 1/3rd the price. But he is brilliant. He is a boy-wonder. A genuine wunderkind. I'm sure there is a logical explanation that would fully explain the need for an expensive PR person. Does this mayor require an entourage as well?

Interesting word choice.

Let's look at your first sentence again:

"Punjab Please stop empowering these people"

Empowering?

Interesting. I think your choice and use of the word "empowering" is very revealing.

Be truthful, you know that making comments on topix allows you to go unchallenged, be unaccountable, for anything you contend, or allege. You choose topix of all the ways available to you to express you discontent. If it was true that the mayor is going against the peoples desires then he would not be getting the praise he is receiving. Person of the year, politician of the year for the past two years. When a poster says that it would be wiser to spend money paving a street instead of bringing IVY to town then they are blinded by hate. How can a paved road bring bring more business to our down town! Blinded by jealousy! You comments on how he is going against the people is totally unfounded, the old saying " can't make everybody happy" is more like the truth. The very act of voicing your opinion here proves your true motives. Not a desire to help make Frankfort better in the public arena, just an easy way to vent your hate.My question that NOT one of you posters will address is WHY topix. The truth!

Someone tell the 165 people enrolled at OUR IVY and there parents that could not afford collage that they should feel guilty because we have a unpaved road because of our mayor's decision to bring IVY to town. All the people who have already condemned the school to failure not because of facts but for the sole reason that the mayor spearheaded it. All for nothing is right on, blinded by HATE. The thousands that see this positive addition to our community and our industry on the west side and to down town business are excited about the direction the mayor is taking our town. What a poor decision the mayor made, we could have had another bar! How stupid is this argument!!! Another bar or 165 people who have hope of a successful future!
