Just read in today's Times that the BZA denied the zoning variance for a lighted sign that was almost twice as large as what is allowed under the current ordinance. Now the company who built the sign will have to spent upwards of 20k to make a new, smaller sign.

CSF board members and Mr. Bivens accused the BZA of "having their minds made up" before the meeting even began. Mr. Bivens then moaned about "being made an example of"

Yes Mr. Bivens, you and the current school board are being made examples of because you are a perfect example of an organization that thinks it is somehow above the voters and above the law. CSF's lack of due dillegence in this an other matters are not without consequences. Stop crying and face up to the fact you made a mistake.

Records show that when the vote was taken to purchase the sign there were citizens at the meeting that could have raised the question regrading the size of the sign and whether or not it met code. Those individuals were either elected (not just SB members) or appointed to various government agency boards.

Now, one such 'concerned citizen' at the meeting, who is also the treasure of the county, took the time to discuss the zoning issue with individual zoning board members to insure the board denied the school board request. Yes, Punjab / Rick , the BZA had made its mind up.

This will assist his continued plan of recruiting 'concerned citizens' to run for school board for the three seats up for election this November.

This is just an example of how putting himself 'above the voters' with hand picking candidates and backing those individuals for school board.

Not every one on the School Board voted for that sign. It was a 4 to 3 vote.

So you are accusing Mr. Niemish of letting this blunder go ahead unhindered in the hopes that ultimately the BZA would vote it down, causing more egg on the faces of CSF board members and Mr. Bivens.

Interesting theory. However I fail to see how encouraging certain individuals to run for upcoming school board seats is "above the voters."

And again for the record I am not "Ron".

Ultimately this is about them not thoroughly investigating the regulations for signage. Homeowners have to submit plans and contractors submit plans for approval to build and or modify

When asked, at the open meeting with the community, why would you make such a decisions on the purchase of the land without checking for liens or what land you where buying. Dean Hudleston said under his breathe,“Because we can”.
Incompetence and arrogance are the reason the CSF board should all put in their resignation. They have lost all respect the title has given them. Every board member that was around for the land purchase should bow their head in shame and leave while they still have some dignity. They have made one after another judgment calls, that are going to bankrupt the school system.

It doesn't matter where you work, any and everyone who has purchased a house knows you do title searches.

If you buy houses in tax sales, estate sales, bankruptcy sales, or whatever other means, all involved as the seller are going to disclose financial data as it applies to the sale. Why? It's the law!

How can anyone have faith in the current administration? It's just like a BoW membe and a couple of beard boys. They listen to their clicks, have their own agendas, and do whatever they please.

Voters could fix this if they truly wanted to. But they seem to be beaten into submission by these prima donna's.

Dean Hudleston saying what he did does show the incompetence and arrogance of a single individual that made the decision as the school board president and with a title of vice president at the same bank where the said property was being sold at sheriff's sale.

How can an individual that has no regards to public funds - only business interest - be trusted to invest individual retirement funds at the same bank?

Dean should be the first to turn in his resignation.

It sounds like you people from Frankfort are pansies. You elected them why don't you make them do what they are supposed to? Aren't these people paid with your taxes?
Where I am from we just take matters into our own hands if our officials don't represent us.

Is this supposed statement made by Mr. Huddleston documented somewhere besides this topix forum? Besides, Mr. Huddleston should have recused himself from voting on the Rudd property purchase because of his employment at the Farmers bank.

The statement is true! I was there. And he did NOT vote, but he should have advised the other board members, don't you think?
Mr. Fox asked the question and Mr. Hudleson said that in responence.
Now, I am not sure on this, but he was suppose to do the purchasing of the land on behalf of the board. Check it out, someone.

I would like to know why the administrators are sitting in a newly remolded building & now they want to build some big sign.
Why aren't funds being spent to upgrade the high school. Such as air conditioning for the students, pest & mold control. Students are expected to sit in the heat while the admin get air conditioning? Also I have heard several complaints the school is infested with roaches & other bugs. There is also a serious mold issue.
I would ask a school board official....but done that before & got the run around. Basically I was told these repairs were beyond what the school corporation could afford. Yet they can spend $ to buy a building, decorate it fiesta style, and put up a new sign in front of the building. Will it be in spanish???

Hey Mr. Bivens how does it feel when the shoe is on the other foot. The BZA having their minds made up before the meeting began sounds a lot like you and your board members having your minds made up when you implemented the 1 mile walk zone. Same with you buying the Rudd building but that was a little different. You and the board members did that on your own without the tax payers even knowing about it until it was a done deal.

Bivens said when he got here he was not going to stay, so why don't the public make a stand and put him out. It can be done along with the board.

Bivens was not part of the purchase of the Rudd property. He was in agreement with the board to remodel the building.

Let us not forget the three ladies up for election all voted in favor of purchasing building & the remodel.

Carol is only appearing tough now because of the election. Where was her voice for the children during the 1-mile walk zone?

The big difference is the BZA is following a set of well defined regulations. The school board follows no rules. So yes, their minds were made up.

Now if you had a logical reason and a reasonable track record of making good decisions based on community input, they would have considered you proposal.

why don't you use an address that is in one of the zones that are up for re-election??? I vaguely remember someone doing that for the election process not to long ago.
