Well might as well put MY vote in: Remember a Store called WALL-Mart????? THAT my friends is what took Most of the stores in yer fine little town outta business. However, many of the "shops" downtown were Mom and Pop stores and they ran them until they were ready to retire and the Kids wanted NUTHIN ta do with them so Mom and POP left!
Ya remember a lady called Gena Sheets? Even SHE as the Director of yer Big ol Chamber of Commerce chose to go OUT of yer County ta buy HER vehicle! THAT might have been SOME of the reason all the car lots left. Noone went to them. Maybe it WAS poor customer service. We KNOW RUDD left HIS place owin about 69,000 bucks in back taxes that yur butts had ta pick up as tax payers through the Community Schools of Frankfort. And 'jabby"? Once again Get yer story strait! The Federal government does NOT EVERY year pay out subsiderary to the farmers fer Peets sakes ya make is sound like there aint never nuthin bein grown in Clinton County! Whatta ya eatin at yer house?(I DON'T even wanna answer that!)

Hold on there NV... WALMART DIDN'T DO A DAMN THING TO MOM AND POP'S. THE FINE PEOPLE OF CLINTON COUNTY DID.

They chose to shop there. I hate walmart, but don't be twisting it up. Blame the community. That's the truth.

As for Punjab, all he knows about the agricultural community is what crap he hears on cable tv "news" stations.

He wouldn't know a milk weed from a nutsedge weed.

But, one things for sure, he'll be looking up more propaganda to support his ridiculous thoughts.

Wal-Marts came in ta these towns advertisin ALL these Low Low prises and Evrythin under ONE roof and People are dumb enough ta believe em. THEN the Ma and POP shops aren't patronized any more- the kids don't want the legacy, Wal-mart has GOT all the business and starts CUTTIN the products and EVERYTHINS gone ta heck in a handbasket! THAT a better scenario? But! I STAND by the REST of my post!

Sorry... can't give you that.

We were raised to always shop local. Why? Because local businesses hire local people. Local people pay their local, state, and federal taxes. Then local govt gets their "support" check from said govt agencies.

Also local businesses supported local schools, sporting events, boys and girls stuff, and on and on.

It's a great financial circle. Until Frankfort and Clinton counties very own population decided that loyalty was over-rated.

It isn't walmart's fault. It's the communities. They sold their own people out. Just like the local political associations have done. Selling the community out to make themselves look good.

All these supposed farmers that have come out of the woodwork to lambaste my comment concerning their utter dependence on government largess sure don't. They wouldn't know a free market if it kicked them in the ass because they have never had to compete in anything resembling an open, free market. Big Daddy government is there to bail them out, make sure they can compete.
And what did GMC, Chrysler and your big banks do? Did they take a big handout from government. Did the owners of the Indy 500 just take a big deal from the taxpayers? What is the difference? Enlighten me, as I am sure you will. Did the big airline industries take a big bail out after 9-11? Should I name more

Listen, people buy at walmart and other corporate stores is because the price is cheaper, nothing more. How about you go to Kramers and buy drywall and I will go to Lowes or Menards and save tons. You want people to buy from mom and pops stores and spend more? You either make way to much money or you are just dumb. You are telling me you don't look for the price? Wow, you need to re-think yourself my friend...

And I contend that U.S. farmers do not participate in a true Free Market because ultimately the government sets the high and low price for a given commodity.

I guess for farmers life is always better with a government subsidy in hand......

Seems to me your the dumbass, capitalistic government is not built on the government bailing anybody out. If you are ok with this, then you have zero problems with every business getting a bailout as long as they pay it back, right? What an idiot you are. You can't have it both ways you moron...

But your ok with GMC, Chrysler, Air line industry and of course the Speedway getting a loan from you and I at the tune of 100 million? This must be the free market you are referring to, right? Or like the dumb Oldman said, its ok for certain private business to get bailouts and the hell with the rest...

lol, all those millionaire farmers got rich primarily by sucking on the government teat for decades. Crop subsidies, getting paid not to plant, etc. The federal Farm Bill is one of the largest pieces of pork in existence today. The cost of Ivy Tech is a drop in the buck compared to the millions Clinton County farmers have gotten from the government over the years. But I'm sure to you that is ok, right nu-viewy?
I wonder how much money the the rich farmers in the following link, all due to taxpayer largesse, have donated to Ivy Tech?:

The Govt sets the high and low for a farmer's product??? Where'd you hear that? CNN? FOX News?

Funny, I always research and sell at the highest price I find. The check has never had any govt information on it.

It's always fun to make fun of uninformed morons like you. Thanks for the fun.

Think I'll head out to the mailbox and get my check from the govt. Thanks, punjabby. Keep on eating and paying your taxes. I need some new chickens.
