The city doesn't pay a dime for the golf course and hasn't for sometime. The county/city/Wesley Manor on the ground but do not not make a single penny nor do they spend a single penny. So if the county owns part of the course, which they do, should the county give deer track and Rossville $50,000 to help with their bills?
After all, the county was asked to give $50,000 as well but so far, they have stated they will not. You must be a democrat or you don't believe in capitalism, the golf course is ran by a private firm that is paying the Farmers Bank money for the loan the Farmers bank provided several years back. How about make this company run the course right and if the bank is losing money, well it is their own fault as they knew this course was failing when the loan was given out. The city paying for private companies is wrong in so many ways. Maybe the city can buy a new car dealership
so we can say we have one. Wow, I love how we think.. Oh and by the way, why does Wesley Manor get to let the people that live their play golf for free?
SO AGREE with this statement, especially at the cost of taxpayers when someone is getting paid to do it. "The city paying for private companies is wrong in so many ways" I do agree." Why does it continue? Take a look at the current Clerk for Frankfort, Judy Suter,Sheets. How many outside firms has she hired to do her work? Interesting to know. I have heard of at least 3 and probaly more if we only could know, and she gets paid how much to find someone else to do her job? AND Just to be a bit petty, how many city cops has she married? SORRY

Hmm, I 'lacked knowledge' because I refused to believe an anonymous individual posting on Topix.

I guess the mantra that "Everything you read on Topix is true" really is true.

That said, the investment in the golf course by both the city and county is a wise one. It is an asset to this community.

It's easier to listen to someone who is open minded such as yourself than another closed minded, I'm always right, bullying type. Pretty sure you and others know exactly with whom I am referring to.

Well done "Yep"

If that is the case then what should be done with the golf course property?

Looks like THAT was taken care of! The Snakes in the Clinton County Council ONCE AGAIN Usurped the Authority of the Commissioners and Gave TAXPAYERS monies to the RICH to keep the Golf Course open so Yer Mayor can have his "Private Club" go out there and Play! McCheese was Quoted as saying he would NOT lower the Tee costs so "regular people" could play out there because "He was NOT going to stand on the Course with people in TEE Shirts and Cut offs"! Not sayin the Golf course is BAD just sayin ONCE again the City and the County is NOT in ANY position to be IN BUSINESS to Run ANY PUBLIC ENTITY!

Where did you see that quote from the Mayor or did he say it somewhere and you heard it? Thanks

Deer track has an excellent course. Fees are competitive and I doubt anyone gives two sh!ts about the way someone might look. Rossville is priced right but isn't quite as challenging.

If Wesley Manor and the church that they are connected with think it's such a great thing, then they should buy it and run the damn thing themselves. It's a shame that the county and city taxpayers are digging out yet another failed program.

What a waste of money. Maybe the elite people who want it that bad should pony up their own green and leave tax money alone because if someone doesn't stick a tampon in Skip Evans mouth, there will be attorney fees everywhere you look.

Perhaps we need to do away with ALL the city parks, the petting zoo, and the pool as well. Unending money pits, all of them.

The decision to give the $50,000 from the county was made by the County Council NOT the Commissioners. If the Council wants something it seems to be ok to fund but if the Commissioners want something then they have to beg for it!

"Regular People" correct me if I'm wrong but was it not "Regular People" that elected Chris!!!!! And t-shirts and cut offs I believe I have witnessed Chris riding in police car's with a ball cap on, blue jeans and a sweat shirt is that a way he should be representing himself. Not saying he should not dress casual but again their is a place and time for casual dress right Chris and the golf course is not one of them lol. If he truly is a Christian man does it matter what you wear but what is truly in your heart. Let's not pass judgement on those less fortunate but extend a helping hand. Our county or city should not be funding a private business "PERIOD".

another moronic response from Punjab...

Good god you douche-bag, no one mentioned anything about the parks, zoo, or pool. This is about the golf course. The parks dept couldn't make it work anyway

Start another section if calling into question the dispersion of the park, pool, and petting zoo interests you.

"FYI"... county funds are county funds. I don't see any corelation between whether it's the commissioners or council. It was a waste of money.
