Why is the golf course any different? We tax payers pay every year the tune of 50,000 for the pool and what is the budget for the parks? hundreds of thousands. The mayor and the council said they are not interested in asking the tax payer to fund the golf course past this year. They ask for 50,000 in order to by time this year to figure out an answer. It would of cost us around 30,000 to keep it mowed this year anyway. We need this in our community, either make it part of the parks or bought by a private party by the end of 2014 or it will be the last year it will be open.

Sell it. There is no reason to hold onto something that needs major upgrades to its own infrastructure. Besides, the Park Super's of yester-year couldn't run it either.

It's obvious that management companies aren't having any success. They get paid to run it and are sticking their hands out for more money. Sad thing is that they want more of TAXPAYER's money for the dang thing. 98% plus taxpayers don't even use it.

CCEAF nor the Bank could make a go of it either.

There is no positive economic impact for keeping it open.

Maybe the Chamber could take a stab at it. They seem to like spending six figures for programs that fail.

Downfall is it can't be sold for any profit since it's so in-debt.

You have no argument about registering vs non registering.
You think that you are being truthful. If that indeed is accurate, then post your name.
I course I have an argument. You are posting using the unregistered topix name 'Reality' but you could also be 'Punjab Is','Yep' or a host of any other names. I only post using the registered topix name 'Punjab' and you can be certain if you see a post made by the registered name 'Punjab' that it was one, and only one, person who made that post.

The argument over registered/un-registered topix accounts and real names are two different things. It's a red herring certain individual love to throw out in an attempt to deflect and confuse. If topix ever require and individual to register and post using their real names then I will comply.

Are you going to say the same thing about the TPA park pool? The public library? Neither of those taxpayer funded government services turns a profit.

"Reality" Punjab told us a while back his name is "Frank" Either his God given first name or a moniker of his first name. I never really asked him to specify or clarify, however, you know he is indeed a male, he does indeed post from a Frankfort location from time to time and that you can call him Frank.

What private investor or management company is running the Pool?

Is the county willing to give their property to the city? Is the Wesley Manor willing to give their two holes they own to the city? Is CCEAF going to give hole number ten, the two buildings and parking lot to the city? You see their are more people involved than just the city.

Now, will you tell me what private investor or management company it is that is a part of the city pool? That is right, nobody. Nobody is bitching that the city is keeping open a pool for the kids, but yes people do complain when tax dollars go to a private management company and to CCEAF (Private Investors). I believe their is a big difference.

Wasn't that already beat to death on here a page or two ago??? Does your selective memory forget???

Noticed you breezed right by some very intellectual questions. What's with that???

You've been outsmarted boy. By someone who is as anonymous and faked name as you are. But one has to admit, they asked great questions. Hell I'd love to see anyone answer them

Priceless, simply priceless that you tow the company line and have no clue how to handle factual information

But I choose not to post unregistered because I believe that it is important a discussion that the parties involved be able to tell exactly who made what comment. You don't seem to think that this is important.

Tell us "Punjab is", exactly WHY are you afraid to create a registered topix account?

How many times do you need to see this???

Registering means nothing. It doesn't stop anyone, including you, from posting from another registered or non-registered account.

It provides no accounting process for anyone outside of Topix. Hell, Topix has everyone's IP address everytime they post so if needs be, they can give the information needed if guided by the proper legal documents from a judge.

And your the only one who seems to care about registered versus non-registered. If Topix thought it was that important, then they would mandate that you be registered through their site, or have a social media site that posting would reflect to.

In closing, this has nothing to do with being afraid to register, this has more to do with not needing to. So you need to get that stupid argument out of your little brain.

Registering is futile. Just like you and your republican buddys.

Yup,$50k for something that benefits the community. It's what government is for.
And again, do you have proof that the voting parties were forcibly told to vote for the $50k by their 'handlers' or 'puppet masters', even if they personally wanted to vote against it?
Is there a difference between 'handlers'/'puppet masters' and friends/advisers? Should an elected official go it %100 alone and never seek the advice of others?

Interesting wrote:

If I have read all of this correctly, I believe the total amount tendered to the management company is actually 100k with it being evenly split between the county and city governments.

Can you put aside your attitude about the politicians and whether they are or are not being "directed" to vote a certain way and provide verifiable answers to the following?

1. Can you show, using regional and local information, how having the golf course in Frankfort is a useful economic attracting tool? It looked like you made a feeble attempt at this by providing a link. Frankly, that article lacked any relevance to the city and county's current course.

2. Can you provide information as to the last year that the course did not finish at least 100k in the negative?

3. Please give us your rational as to why the county and city, as well as any "shareholders", should continue to pay for any management team that cannot stay within the money allotted to them.

4. Has any management team, county, and or city, developed any sort of plan to get the golf course out of debt? I recall the Chamber's own Shan Sheridan indicating that they were over 400k in debt to some group. And finally,

5. How is this golf course a benefit to the community? Can you site any player counts per week or month?

Isn't this kind of stuff right up your alley? You represent yourself as an "in the knowledge" person, so this should be a "walk in the city ran" park for a person like you.

Sorry, I've slept since then.

I give up. Sell the golf course land, let them take the land and turn it into bars and strip clubs. It appears to be what the majority of Frankfort residents want.

Our city will compete for companies and jobs against others,we want people to move here, would you! People want to recreate and enjoy their home and home town, if we lose the golf course we lose another reason for new people to move here. Lose IVY and the same thing will happen.Having a big bank account means nothing to someone researching a place to live.People will drive to work, they want to live where they recreate. Look at where most of the factory CEO's live. We need the types of progress that bring people to live in our community.
