Too bad their not doing "face to face" with known rapists?

Last time I checked, a rapist was a sex offender, unless you mean "supposed" rapists that haven't been convicted, and if that's the case, they wouldn't be offenders or need face-to-face meetings.

Don't mind Lutz. She isn't playing with a full deck. If we ignore her maybe she'll go away

. Known sex offenders: People who have already served time for an offense that they performed and did time for and are now living in neighborhoods in Clinton County or Frankfort. I know exactly what I'm talking about. You obviously have no clue of the connotation I am alluding too. Yes, everyone is innocent until proven guilty. However, when they so much as admit that they're guilty how do you handle that?

If they haven't been tried and convicted, the police have no legal rights or obligations to check up on them.

The federal court case against three pigs in Frankfort is going forward because the FEDERAL JUDGE believes these criminals that call themselves "police men" or "detectives" failed to properly conduct a "proper interview" or "interrogation" with the alleged rapists.( now they claim they have no need to investigate crimes unless you are in jail and the crime happened in jail).... Seeing that these guys were never brought in for questioning seems odd to most people. Don't you agree?

I wasn't referring to any criminal cases that are taking place right now. I was commenting on the headline, which reads, "Frankfort Police Department announced they will be conducting face-to-face visits with sex offenders to verify compliance with Indiana's laws."

That means they are doing check-ups on those who have already been tried and convicted and have certain rules they have to abide by once they are out of jail (i.e. can't be within a certain distance of a school or daycare, etc.)

My comment to Richelle was that if they have not been tried or convicted, then they do not have to abide by any rules specific to sex offenders, nor or the police obligated to check up on non-criminals.

Do I think the police messed up on that investigation: yep, and so do the Federal Courts, however, that has nothing to do with the headlines or my comment.

Boomer Smith got Jason Albaughs step daughter pregnant when she was thirteen at the roller rink........ Sounds pretty sex offenderish to me, to stay on topic, since he spent some time living with Jason he had plenty of those face to face visits.

Perjury will get ya jail time even in a civil suit! They lied several times to the family about their so called "investigation" and all that will be dealt with in front of a federal judge. When they testify their guts will be in knots because they know they have been caught lying.

I agree that is statutory rape, however, if no charges were brought and he wasn't convicted, and is not on a sex offender list, that still means the police do not have a right to "check up" on him. If the parents didn't force the issue, then shame on them.

You appear to be quite informed on this particular situation? Are you an attorney? Are you a police officer? Are you one of the reporters for the newspaper? Just appears to this poster that, if you are this informed and. "On point ", why are you wasting your knowledge on Topix? I tried to do this and you insinuated I was nasty and a know-nothing?

First of all, if you go back and read all of my posts on this topic, I never, at any time, referred to you (or insinuated) that you were nasty or a know-nothing. I didn't even say anything about you except to clarify to another poster what my reply to you was stating.

Second, you do not need to be an attorney, officer, or journalist to be informed, all you have to be is interested in being educated on the law. Know matter where I share my knowledge, knowledge is never wasted, ignored maybe, but not wasted. Unlike some posters (I'm NOT specifically pointing out anyone), I can post an intelligent, informed response without berating or belittling others.

I have had a family member raped, so I in no way feel anyone should get away with it, but like it or not, there are procedures and laws that require 1) that everyone is innocent until proven guilty, and 2) that an accused get a fair trial to determine that guilt. That is why there are defense attorneys for the defendants (even if they are guilty, its the job of the attorney to prevent them from going to jail.) If the justice system fails, then everyone, victim and their family included, has to live with that miscarriage of justice.

. You young lady are the worst kind of unkind , nasty and no nothing I fear. Anyone that really reads your post can see the arrogance in you that you have that "better than you are" attitude every time you post. This, my dear is not the only forum you have posted in. You have posted with this attitude in every forum, as you are the only one with the answers. BTW, no one with any class would ever put out in social media any close family dynamics no matter how much they think it will "help".
