The Hot Dog Festival has been going on for almost 20 years and I don't see were it has put anything into this community. I heard the Flavor's queen on the radio say it brings $3,000,000.00 in that weekend. Well if it does I would bet to say that over 90% of it leaves town. This is another Alive on 65 and we all know the mess that was with promises of money to Wounded Warriors using there name and they never gave them one dime. Alive on 65 why will they not show anyone the books. They have a board member who runs the paper print it or put it on Vern's paper. Like Vern always tells everyone let the people see it. Why has it been all this time and they are still hiding it. Same thing with the Main Street Director lets put the books out on the Hot Dog Festival so everyone can see what is going on there. Is main street another FLAVORS...

was the festival originally advertised as something that would bring lots of money into the town, what is a small town festival supposed to do? who has asked to see the books from the hotdog festivel?

I think a festival is to promote the town and business owners. The summer can be a rough retail time and festivals help encourage people to get out and visit vendors and businesses you may not know exist.

I don't think Main Street actually makes much money on the Hot Dog Festival. They help promote Frankfort as a community and we are fortunate to have a really good festival and catchy name.

In other words "you have to dance with the one that brung ya.........." Once Indiana packers get revved up they will probably jump on this event and could make it some money......

It seems you do not appreciate some truthful post being placed on here as you do nothing to provide any evidence to prove these other posters wrong.
I guess we can thank the good Lord above that there are not many like you in Clinton County.

Everyone missed the opening point about this whole matter. The Hot Dog Festival is being ran by someone who is up on tax charges who should not be in that job. Were is the Goldstar report on the Hot Dog Festival. As for the Loss of the $190,000 I remember it being told in the paper or on the radio that the Chamber director went to the Farmers Bank and took out a personal loan to cover that. So why did the chamber take the loss. Now they sold part of there land to cover the cost and the city had to give them office space to save them from going broke. How can you loose $190,000 on a event and be the economic development director. Were do they get all that money to keep sending Shan to China and Japan when they lost all that money. Maybe the Hot Dog queen from flavors taught them how to do the books.

The Chamber had the loan. You did not hear anything about it on the radio or paper.

If you provided the report on the Chamber, the you can do the same for the Main Street.

Who, if anyone, said the City had to give the Chamber space?

When was the last time Mr. Sheridan went abroad?

Your stupidity is duly noted.

To the eraser: you would be advised to NOT be posting any additional comments in regards to the Devore's and especially their daughter. The Devore's are not posting on this site and respectfully request that any additional slanderous comments about them to cease and desist. This will be the first, last and only warning that you will receive on this issue. Any additional comments about the Devore family will be met with legal action. I sincerely hope I am clear in my statement.

this is an open forum, you cannot bring legal action against anyone unless you make some sort of threat to them and their life, the only way you can find out who a Blogger is if #1 they identify themselves.#2 a court order, a court order can find out the ip. address of a poster/Blogger. and as I stated it takes a bodily or life threatening situation to get that accomplished. so in the mean time your accuser can accuse you of anything on here and get away with it.

Ol Brett?? A family man? That's laughable. Wasn't he recently "involved" with a poor distraught "friend" who's boyfriend kicked her out for her obsession with him? He sure is quite the comforter, or was that just being a good friend? A REALLY good friend?

guidestar.com will get you all the info on the chamber. But here is a sample of their 2012 tax return.
Pg 9 of Form 990, Part VIII, line 2a:
Alive on 65 revenue:$97,289
Page 10 of Form 990, Part IX line 24a
Alive on 65 Expense: 287,858
So, say all you want, but the Chamber screwed it's members and all the county and city taxpayers by loosing over 190,000 dollars.
Can't blame Sharon and Vern for not wanting anyone to know that now, can ya???
The original poster, whether anyone wants to admit it or not, is being "transparent" in their truthful statements in regards to Alive on 65.
Now there will be someone to come on here and tell you that this post is a lie, but guidestar will state differently.
Or worse yet, they will do the typical "report abuse" because heaven knows we can't have the truth be brought to light.
didn't the weather have a lot to do with this event not meeting expectations?

Posts 6,7,11,and 18 have disappeared.

How interesting that is since they provided some very accurate and truthful information.

What is wrong with people? Can't they handle truth provided by an unbiased source like the state website?

Why are you people still talking about the Alive on 65. That was how long ago!!! Time to move on...it's done and over quit living in the past. We're not all perfect like you but at least some of us are trying to save the town from wasting away to nothing. While I agree that is a lot of money to lose it still put the Frankfort name out there. The Hot Dog Festival also brings in people from other towns which brings in $ to our community. If you people hate this town so much move out and quit being a Debbie Downer. Or get out there and do something to make this a better town. But no it's easier to sit behind the computer and put everyone else down for at least trying. I feel sorry for you...sounds like your life really sucks to have such an attitude.
