What is your opinion? Was this a really big deal? The media is coming down hard on her for her performance.

Money drives everything in show biz. Her father condones all of this because he is needing cash.Where is this heading, are we going to be watching these young money whores doing it on stage in a few years. Maybe 20 years from now we will watch people kill each other on stage for the entertainment value. Look at the past 50 years!!!!!! Will we condone it because it's are artistic right to express ourselves. The move away from what's moral and right is because of fame and money. As for me and my family, we worship will worship the Lord.

I didn't really take to well to Robin Thicke's mother coming down on Miley about how she was "grinding" on her son's crotch. You mean he didn't have a say in it and he wasn't at the rehersal? It may have been a bit over the top and I agree, the moral fabric of our society is ripping at the seams.

Not only is it not a big deal,it's a nonissue or at least it should be. Okay so they call it twerking now, when I was in high school it was uncalled that but it was there nonetheless. Not a big deal then, not a big deal now. Meet a girl puts her but close to the floor and shakes it around there is nothing new under the sun! We have two daughters (9 and 14) and the idea of them doing it doesn't freak us out. It's just a dance, remember that at one time Chubby Checker and 'the twist' was just as big a deal. And OMG The Beatles had long hair! It's going to ruin the world! So this deal with Miley Cyrus, much ado about nothing just like when she did the pole dance number for the Teen Choice Awards. Our oldest girl does pole dancing, she took the class with her mother as a dancercize. She stuck with it and is pretty good!

I disagree, It was taboo to see someone kissing, or see a woman in a one piece bathing suit on TV when I was a kid. Kids fought with their fists, not guns. We didn't live in such a mysoginistic society as we do know. Women may have been sex objects yes, but didn't we have the rap songs with the lyrics about raping women and calling them Bitc*** and Hoes. The twist and Elvis gyrating his hips is a long way from someone bending over like two dogs in heat and rubbing their clothed genitals together. What does this tell our kids? We are a sex driven society, sex sells. It found it to be flamboyantly digusting with the foam finger and the crotch rubbing. I don't however blame Miley only. Robin Thicke and the VMA awards were part of it. Lady Gaga was weird but not vulgar. Pole dancing may be good exercise, but was is it? It's what women do to give lonely, sometimes loney men a zinger when they dont like what they have at home or can't find anything else. It is provactive and sexual. I don't think it's a good thing to advocate for kids. If so, let the boys do it. Now, we are back to the double standard thing with women. Things are worse since I was a kid, it's just undeniable. You really would want your young kids watching that hot mess on TV? I don't recall bending over on the floor and doing anything even close to "twerking" when I was a teenager.

I thought it was gross. I changed the channel and if I had kids they wouldn't watch it. Who lets their kids do pole dancing? That's just not smart.
