No sir, bullshit on you. Comparing a private business to a public concern like Ivy Tech is invalid. Under our capitalist system the function of a private business is to make a profit. Public entities like Ivy Tech have no such concern.

It is valid. I knew you'd spin it. That's what you politicans do.

The city just started a rental business. With a business plan that failed. With taxpayers footing the bill for an agency that is worth millions on paper, has allegence to the state, and could easily get a federal orstate grant, or possibly a loan to buy the bldg outright and do what needed to be done.

It's bullshit. All because a few people want to make a name for themselves at the expense of the Clinton County taxpayers... BULLSHIT.

No, you are wrong. The "business" of city is not to make money. You fail.

As for "a few people wanting to make a name for themselves" why don't you actually name these people.

Is anyone on here smart enough to know the difference between asking for 600,000 or a loan for 600,000. Evidently Mr. Boyles doesn't. They are asking for a loan, which one repays a loan. Cost to the tax payer=0. Mr. Boyles is proud of his education but doesn't seem to care if less privileged of the county get one. His comment in the times was to the point. Its a money pit and always has been and I will NOT vote to help!

He might be thinking that the money will never be fully repaid. Most taxpayers will be thinking that. We do in Forest.

Maybe he knows more than what the paper says???

I believe Mr. Boyles's comment was made because he and several other taxpayers do not think that the loan will be repaid. Repayment is based on private contributions. If these contributions were going to come in as pledged, wouldn't they have been received by Ivy Tech already? So what's one to think when asked to loan $600,000 with NO GUARANTEE of repayment. This is tax money folks! We should not be supporting a state funded college! I have never heard of a college asking a town for financial assistance! We've invested enough into Ivy Tech and they should've had their ducks in a row before making their remodeled building so fancy.

Completely agree. It's sad that there are small minded people out there that can't see that.

I believe that Ivy Tech didn't make a financial commitment because of the fact they are shutting down other campuses and are over extended by millions of dollars according to a report I read.

Look at this link to see their restructuring program. It looks like they will be out of debt in 2029 assuming the don't take on any new debt between now and then. Www.in.gov/che/files/HEA1004_FY12_ITCC.pdf

Some say that giving all the money was the only way to get IT here. This report directly from the commission should frighten anyone who has given them one red cent do their own hard earned money.

you are a fucktard and everyone on here knows it. You you are all for spending into the ground the hard earned money of the hard working people of Frankfort/Clinton co. With tearing down or a Mojor rebuild of the high school. The high school is in need of repairs and upgrades everyone here knows that. Ivy tech would be a great thing for the community if it wasnt going to be a blood sucker and live off life support. The people (working class) are already being squeezed to death with taxes and the economy is pretty crappy last time I checked. My wife and I both work full time jobs, we have four children three of them in school. My wife had to put her nursing schooling on hold because (economy). we struggle to make ends meet each payday. And you think it's OK to burden my family and hundreds of other families because of your selfish wants, desires, needs before the good people of Frankfort? And then you go beoyond that and accuse us of wanting a paved road to walmart? If anybody needs an education and a good old fashioned dose of humility it would be you.people like yourself are a shit stain to this or any town that would tax and spend (the peoples) hard earned money. Go away you lifeless douche bag and get a life, and an education on economics.( town has money=build)(town has no money=don't build).

Well, its very obvious you are apart of the administration or maybe just trying to explain simple logic of what a loan is, thank you for the lesson..

Now, it appears you seem to be in the know, like Punjab thinks he is but I must ask the hard question, why the loan from county? Now, I am sure you were able to listen to the Mayor at the state of the city address and he was so proud that his General fund has 1.1 or 1.4 million in it. He went on and on how this administration does its homework to save money and how hard they work. If you missed this, you can watch it again on WILO TV.

If this is true and we all know the christian Mayor would not lie, I am not sure why the city isn't kicking in the money.. I think I know why but you can make your own decision..

Hmm, so it's ok for CSF to be a "blood sucker and live off life support" (whatever the hell that means) but it's not ok to give IVT a LOAN in order to complete it's construction. Gotcha chief.

Sorry that you hate secondary education, but not all of us are that short-sided and blinded by our own personal struggles and failures.

Another spin... good god.

Apples to oranges, to quote your phrase, you moron.

Ivy Tech and Public Schools are two completely different fruits. You and the other good readers on here already know that, but you want to put another stupid republican political spin on it.

What public elementary, middle, or high school, charges for tutition??? NONE.

What secondary school lets people in for free minus book and technology fees??? NONE.

A loan??? will there be any collateral?

You assume people on here hate secondary education. That would be wrong. County people get tired of bailing out the city for stupid decisions.

Why don't you and your bud Billy Boy go ask Mayor Mcbarnes for the loan from that 1.0 million dollar surplus he was talking about the other day???? Because you don't have it and now you want the county to pay for the Ivy Tech project.

Better yet, why don't you, Billy, Shan, and Stan go ask them donors to follow thru on their promise?

Yep and others on here have you nailed.

By the way, did you sleep again and forget about those intelligent questions that someone posted for you to answer? They were some damn good questions and I bet there are others who would love to see your spin on them.

They are not different fruits. They are both publicly funded educational institutions. Whether or not they charge tuition is inconsequential. BTW, you do know that public primary schools could charge tuition for out-of-district students before Mitch Daniels changed the law?

So Ivy Tech is designed to only benefit residents of the city and not residents of the county?

Who is "Billy Boy"? Your continued delusion that I am somehow part of a city/county GOP 'secret circle' is quite humorous. Do you wear a tinfoil hat as well?

Should the Ivy Tech building simply be closed and the current students attending classes there told to take a hike?

I read no intelligent questions. If you thought they were intelligent perhaps you could repost them.

Why the loan Punjab? The city has the money in the general fund or so the Mayor says...Tell me how this makes since??
