"The sheriff's office, jail and court are preparing to make use of a courtroom at the jail. Video-conferencing between inmates and their attorneys is seeing limited use."

This is only to appease the District Justices...the jail can now hold the offenders until a decent hour to be arraigned. This keeps the District Justices from having to get out of bed in the middle of the night or the wee hours of the morning!

It seems to me that it might appease the district justices but it has to also save money. If the offenders don't have to be transported to and from the courthouse. That should save on manpower and transportation costs. I think once they get a procedure in place and in use it should be very beneficial to our county.

30 million each inmate should also get a massage along with the high school classes and other college classes afforded to these pukes. Can't speak english??? Not a problem...our county will asssist you with that as well. You say your mental?? Don't you even fret.....!! we'll even make you better at that as well. Ummm, just one thing. There is no Judge George Herman. There is however, a DOUGLAS Herman. Way to check facts prior to printing, PO.

Why isn't video conferencing being used more aggressively? It's there, OK'd by case law, and doesn't involve the security ricks and costs of moving around inmates.
